80 Lovely traditional pub with lots of flags and wood, comfy seating, good atmosphere and very popular and full. 5 cask beers with two of them rotating in lovely condition from the likes of Moonwake and Fyne Ales. Keg is slightly more macro but a few from locals too. Big list of whiskeys too. Vegetarian and vegan food available, tried the vegan haggis, neeps & tatties which was lovely, partner had a vegan hot dog which was big and impressive, friend tried the cheese platter and loved it. Quick service. Definitely recommended for a bite and a drink. |
72 A nice find this pub, small but comfortable and a really laid back atmosphere to chill out. The cask beers were all from local micros and my pint of dark ale was top notch. Handy for the tram which is just round the corner. |
62 SMall bar, with a small selection of real ale and a couple ot more trendy keg |
66 Not a bad place at all. Good looking pub, decent selection and fair enough prices. They also show football.
The last time the bar tender didn’t like beer so he couldn’t help me out on the selection, and we sat a little too close to a guy who seemed like he was on audition for a role in Eastenders or Snatch, or possinly both. Apart from that, recommended place if you’re in the area- |
62 Visited on Friday evening. Crowded traditional pub, good selection of local real ales. Not too interesting ones though. Just opposite of Berts Bar. |
76 Couple of pints with Dickinson in here on a Monday night. Nice comfortable pub, relaxed atmosphere but still busy. Service was friendly enough, bar snacks decently tasty and well priced, didn’t try the full menu downstairs. Good beer selection, 4 or 5 casks and several kegs, lagers and bottles. If there are 40 places better than this to drink beer then Edinburgh is a good beer city. |
66 3 July 2012. 5 cask ales and 15 keg beers. Lots of Whisky as well. Nice little pub just off of the west end. Patrons are mainly professionals. Nice little place |
86 Graet place and choice of beers. You can get a coucht more often than not |
66 This is a rugby pub with an excellent atmosphere. It’s cosy with just enough room to squeeze past your fellow-drinker. There is a fair proportion of good ale drunk here, with some steady favourites. They could alternate a bit quicker but it’s probably the case that they’ve found half a dozen that are really popular and they’re sticking with it. Didn’t try food! |
