'Holiday' places are weird to me. Matlock, the town itself, that's fine. But come to Matlock Bath with the ice-cream shops, amusement arcades and chippies and I think, Lord what have I done. I lived in Dawlish for 2 years, and the town was generally fine (although insane in high summer), but I avoided Dawlish Warrren like the plague. So it's a bit of a thrill to find a decent beer pub here. It's not amazing - only three of the 6 casks are available - but there's a few keg including beers from Salt and Floc. It's big and open-plan and the servers do well with the frantic nature of a Saturday afternoon. I would say that if you find yourself in Matlock Bath, by all means go. It's your best bet. Making a specialities here, I dunno. Depends on how you feel about ice-cream shops.

Visited on Friday 5th May 2023 with six old RAF mates and 5 wives. Single roomed place with function\Wedding room upstairs. Four hand-pulls with local beers and ten keg lines. Friendly staff and expensive food. It's a basic joint surrounded by Fish & Chip outlets, never seen so many in such a small plaice. Four new rates for me in the pub, happy with that.

Modern interior and seating outside so that you can admire the volume of fish and chip shops this town has! Good selection of local ales kept in good order.

Very smart freehouse in touristy Matlock Bath. Clean and tidy inside, with around 10 real ales, including local offerings from Navigation and Thornbridge. A very pleasant place.
