| fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | October 6, 2008 So very glad to find this so close to museums district. For Texas, a great selection. Compared to Austin Gman, it’s the step cousin.
Server seemed rather bored, but did poor me a number of samples. Then he disappeared when I wanted to order a second pint. | TexanIndian (2), Fort Worth, Texas does not count - explanation | | May 9, 2008 Good selection, service can be improved. | Bung_Tapper96 (2), Ft. Worth, Texas does not count - explanation | | February 28, 2007 They got a 2 for service because I eventually got my beer. Ambiance got a 4 but they could score a 5 if anyone working there had some enthusiasm. I’ve been to pubs around the world and the best ones are dark and grumpy. A cheerful joint is what makes American pubs unique! Their selection seemed adiquate but just that. They seem to not want to assert themselves with only two handles from most breweries. only had a couple food items, but was impressed to see they serve quality deli meat. Knudge, knudge, wink, wink. Overall it is a great place with great potential. | Assurbanipaul (3), Fort Worth, Texas does not count - explanation | | January 15, 2007 A long-awaited addition to the Ginger Man chain, a cousin to its eastern (Dallas) neighbor. Pretty much everything written about the Dallas location applies also to FTW.
Positioned as a "pub" inside an old-style remodeled house on historic Camp Bowie, this is located spittin’ distance from the Museum District and 7th Street scene. Parking is tight sometimes and a major teaching hospital is next door, so tow zones do exist -- just be cautious.
Interior is nice and homey, crowds are handled well and comfortably. Somewhere around 66 taps (at least the same number in bottles), all in great condition, and including some hard-to-get Texas brews. Limited wine list, and a cask offering is soon to be added.
Food menu is limited but quite good for bar food. Service is spotty, but it’s really not meant to be table service (more of bar service then sit down). Large patio out front right on Camp Bowie, room inside for darts. Will be great unless they try to cram an unnecessary band into a corner (which Dallas often does). | | chef201atc (16), Weatherford, Texas | | January 10, 2007 Went on opening day, it was a bit crowded, but then that’s to be expecting on the first day. Pretty good selection for Texas. Has a good tap list that includes stuff like Real Ale and Live Oak that you can’t get many places north of Austin. | TChrome (6), Bedford, Texas does not count - explanation | | January 7, 2007 [ Updated January 9, 2007 ] Fort Worth, Tx: Nice space off Camp Bowie ,within sight of downtown Fort Worth. Comfortable, not too loud, I had Real Ale Coffee Porter, New Belgium 2 Below, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and Live Oak Liberation IPA(very nice). Good beer; good place. |
