Total Wine & More - Charlotte (Promenade), NC

Solid TW, found 4 new Kolsch beers, service as expected. Plenty of singles, above average beer selection. Worth of stopping by.

Plenty of dedicated parking right in front of the store. Beer is on the left of the store. Big selection of beer and good prices. No rarities. Helpful staff, but not real knowledgable. Start you beer run in Charlotte here.

Visited; 10-17-11 I was excited to go to Total Wine since I had gone to a location in Delaware and remember them having a really vast beer selection. The atmosphere has more of a wine store feel that has beer than a half and half place. The service was okay as the employees were friendly but not very knowledgable. The selection was decent but not a huge selection for the size of the store. The beer area is about two half aisles on the side of the store. The beer selection was decent for grabbing most locals NC and SC selection that dont distribute more but you are not going to find any beers that are going to blow you away or considered hard to find. This location of Total Wine is meant more for needing a quick six pack.

This is your average TW. Reasonable selection, prices are OK. Staff is helpful and friendly. No surprises.

It’s a typical total wine. They have 21/2 aisles of beer on the left side of the store. They don’t tend to get a lot of rarities but they do get a lot of seasonals. And you can buy anything by the bottle so it’s great for trying new things. I’m not sure how much beer knowledge they have but they’re really nice. I accidentally dropped a bottle of stone porter in their parking lot and they replaced it free of charge which they didn’t have to do.

Quick pop-in with my buddy seeking refuge from a storm. Like most other TW’s, there’s not a terrific amount of space given over to the beer but the selection is pretty solid. Locals, nationals, imports, with seasonals well represented. Nice thing about this branch is that it’s apparently not seeing much traffic from beer folks, as there were some real goodies on deep discount. Couple Bruery bombers for 4 bucks went over nicely, as did an in-line conversation with Popeye.

It is a Total Wine. If you have been in one, you have been in them all. This one seems to have more beers than the one in Matthews. Nice, clean store. Staff is somewhat knowledgeable.. I talked to someone once that knew a bit about beer. Unlike the one in Matthews, this guy didn’t recommend that I try the New Castle Red (or whatever it is called). I go here several times a month. Good, close store with plenty to chose from to keep me happy. Approx 800 bottles.
