Great food and service at the bar. Selection was certainly towards the craft side. Plenty of samples. Itís the Barbecue and the beer.

This isnít a "Beer Place" per se, but a great restaurant that has a pretty good beer selection. The tap list is quite nice and eschews all the cheap crap. They have a nice mix of local and more national craft beer. I found a nice local brew that I had never seen before, so that was a great find. The bottle list is split in two. The small bottle section (i.e., 12 oz.) has quite a few decent choices, but nothing special to speak of. They also have a selection of bombers, but they are priced at ridiculously inflated prices (at least double what you could get at a bottle shop, and Tasty Beverage is across the street). Come for the food, grab a beer.

The main draw of this restaurant is the stellar food. I had the hog jowl bruschetta as an appetizer and pulled pork with greens as slaw as the entree. It was truly delicious. There is a better than average beer selection in this swanky joint too. All of the taps rotate constantly according to the bartender. Everything available was a solid American microbrew. Beers are available by 10 or 20 oz. Iím a big fan of the 10 oz. pour. I found some different stuff on that I wouldnít expect to find like Boulevard, Mystery and a one off from Anchor. Iíd be back just for the barbeque. The good beer is an added bonus.

A decent beer place with 12 crafts on tap and what looked like 20-30 bottles. Mostly regional and national stuff, nothing too adventurous. Itís located near Tasty in an old warehouse district so ambiance and coolness is through the roof. I wish that translates into the food. Iíve never seen so much fat and gristle in a plate of barbecue before. I knew I was in trouble when the attendee started talking a out all the awards their food has won. Canít say there was a lot of flavor on the meat or that the sauces added much. I think if I go back Iíll get a hamburger or something.

Very happening spot in the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh. Very busy on a Saturday night. But lets get things straight. This is a bbq joint. And I aint talkin bbq chicken or hamburgers or hotdogs or even that pulled pork shit they call bbq. This is the real stuff. Eastern NC love. But they do have a good beer list. They were having a Saison Fest with 3 saisons on tap, one of which was made in Raleigh. I wonít get into its imperfections here but they also had Hennepin which I enjoy. So if you want some really tasty NC bbq or fried chicken or some other delicious southern delicacy, and some solid tasty beer (they also had Founders All Day IPA on tap), check this place out.

My favorite BBQ in Raleigh. Great atmosphere, service, and of course great food. Beer selection is pretty good. Great value for lunch, dinner more expensive but worth it.

First things first, this place is a barbecue place and it has awesome barbecue. Second things first, it has a sweet beer selection. I definitely donít consider this a place to come for beer but for a restaurant it has a very eclectic and well balanced draft menu that surprised me with several smaller batch and harder to come by brews. Me gusta.

If youíre looking for a place with the best BBQ in town, this place might be the place for you! They have a great wine selection, and the beer selection is decent, but not worth going for alone.

If you like wood-smoked BBQ and you havenít been to The Pit, for shame! This is top shelf stuff, and itís so tasty that even some other Raleigh joints (specifically the Raleigh Times) get their hog from Edís establishment. Very lively, spacious, and enjoyable atmosphere, and the beer menu was surprisingly varied. Good selection of locals like Aviator, Roth, Lonerider, et. al. on tap, but in addition they have a fine selection of big beers in bottles (Crooked Line, New Holland, Allagash, and more). Get some!

Saw their ad in a hotel magazine for authentic but fancified Eatsern NC BBQ. I donít care for that style, but it seemed well prepared and the corn fritter sides made up for it. Mid day, mid week visit so it was to be expected empty - but the beer selection while not huge featured NC heavy representation and some really solid out of state offerings. Service was friendly enough although inattentive. Highly recommend for the selection.
