Small joint; very ma-and-pa looking. No one seemed very enthusiastic to be working there, although the service was pretty prompt. The draft selection was okay, nothing earth-shattering. The selection of bottles and cans was much more extensive, but with the same end result. The food was simple but good. I had the Irish Cowboy with onion rings (actually some of the best onion rings I’ve ever had). I would like to revisit this place on a night that’s a little more thumpin’. It seems a Sunday afternoon is pretty uneventful.

Moderately-sized pub located close to Blue Mountain. This place prominently advertises ’80 craft beers’, so it seemed like a natural place to stop. Weirdly, the beer menu divides the beers available to represent each of the 50 states. Mind that the beers aren’t necessarily from the state they’re listed under, they’re just ’loosely’ associated. For instance, Bear Republic’s Racer 5 was listed under ’Indiana’ (I assume because of the racing connection??). If nothing, it was funny to see how ludicrously tenuous the links between beers and states were. Beyond that, there were something like 10 beers on tap. Nothing particularly interesting was on offer. Food was available, but I wasn’t feeling peckish. Prices were decent. Overall, not worth a visit.

This is a bit of a strange place. Located on 151 about 3 miles South of Blue Mountain brewery. I came here with a bit of a negative impression. At one point the website claimed they would have at least one beer from each US state, which of course would be illegal even if you could pull it off. Now, the beer menu has things like Saranac Big Moose posing as the Montana beer with a description stating something along the lines of "yeah, its brewed in New York but the moose on the label reminds us of Montana, so its here." It’s part of some "drink the 50 states" so I guess it makes sense, but its still pretty weird. As for ambience, its a roadside place which is part bar and part family restaurant. This is definitely a locals hang out with regulars at the bar and families in the restaurant. The vibe is a weird but strangely welcoming wood accented by kitsch. The people were nice and welcoming. I did not see the food menu, nor did I eat. Plenty of parking. Prices seemed decent. The beer selection is solid with tons of bottles of more easy to get craft stuff, and 9 taps, 6 of which were craft. The selection was PBR, Guinness, Yuengling, Blue Mountain Black IPA, Legend Porter, Devils Backbone 8 Point, Ommegang Rare Vos, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, and I believe something from New Belgium had recently kicked. Overall a decent place, but being with only so much sobriety to go around and being on the same road with Devil’s Backbone and Blue Mountain, I don’t see myself stopping here very often.
