Wow. Lots and lots of greet beer on tap and then they serve it with the most outreageous selections of donuts. Hilarious. Only tried some beers but next time will come back for some food.

Hardly a beer-focused place, but this joint more than merits attention based on its excellent selections. Stopped in one morning for a donut (good but not transcendent), did not try the chicken and waffles (though they looked scrum-diddly-umptious). Killer taps, with lots of Maui goodies from a recent takeover. Convivial spot and very conveniently located.

Interesting place with nice beer selection. Fantastic chicken sandwich served on a donut. They should have a cardiologist on staff.

I’m an ectomorph so figured what better way to try and fatten up than ordering a fried brioche doughnut with bacon, maple jus, fried chicken and a side of fries. Happy hour delivered $3 12oz pours of Sexual Chocolate. Fortunately, I’m still skinny (for now).

GBD is donut and fried chicken restaurant that’s part of the ChurchKey family. The connection is apparent as soon as you look at the tap list. The options weren’t plentiful, but they were creative. It was obvious that someone with a lot of knowledge and strong industry connections was behind the beer menu. I had a tough time choosing between options from producers like De La Senne, Struise, Maine, Perennial and Firestone Walker. I eventually settled on a new DIPA from DC Brau and really enjoyed it. Service was top class. The food looked great too. Overall, this place matches great beer with tasty-looking comfort food. What’s not to like?

Pretty cool place to bring a friend or a date. Fried chicken, doughnuts and a few great beers on tap. Dark and narrow bar and restaurant, with good food, though portions are tiny, hence the low value. Prices same as Churchkey or Rusticos. A few interesting beers always on tap here.

So the doughnuts hear are pretty good and there is a varied selection. The place itself is rather small, but this is DC premium property in Dupont Circle. Our service was not the best with a waiter placing two of our three beers on the table and disappearing before letting us know which was which. The food was good but not what we were expecting, though the chicken was quite moist and delicious. An interesting spot, but not worth waiting more than a few minutes for a table.

One of NRG’s more recent restaurants, been several times with positive experiences. Small bar with table seating in the back area. Beer is only served starting at 5:30 PM. Solid selection of craft beer taps including some amazing happy hour deals at times. Food focuses mostly on fried chicken and donuts. Some of the food portions are a bit small for the price but pretty tasty. Enjoyable spot, doesn’t seem to get as crowded as some of NRG’s other bars.

Ambiance is nothing special - a bar, some tables, a bit dark etc. Service was good and the waitress knowledgeable. Beer selection was not hugely diverse, but what they did have was good quality - no marco suds anywhere on the menu. Food was only OK. We only got snacks, which included doughnut holes. Given they call themselves a doughnut shop I was expecting more than overly sweet and COLD doughnut holes in a paper bag. They should be making them to order. I was there at happy hour so the price of the 3 HH beers was great ($3-$5), but the full priced beers were the usual expensive D.C. metro $7 - $12 + range. Overall a decent enough place to find some interesting quality beer.
