“Reportedly the best seafood place in the area, but do not confuse it with Restaurant Le Matelote, a Michelin-starred place on the northwest French coast. You should be able to tell the difference. This is very much an old school place, with an ambiance and menu very much like some of the restaurants of the East Coast of the US when I was growing up. Large place that can absorb a crowd, and though it was pretty full on a Wednesday night, I got a table right away near the small serving bar without a reservation. Six beers on tap, three of which were Gaspesian, including a tasty IPA from Le Malbord and a blonde from Pit Caribou. Food was fine, service was friendly but in English. Scores low for selection of course, but there's enough here to get you through a meal. Worth trying if you're staying nearby as I was, or passing through.“
