“Lighting is dim and Olde Bedford Brewing has a live band here in a Friday night. 10 beers on tap and potato chips for snacks. Got bar, tables, and a patio. The two bartenders and really good. Great atmosphere. Got souvenirs shirts. Can beer to go. No growlers filled here. Very enjoyable stop. Cheers!“

“We came here on 7.9.2019 after a round of Golf with Jermey and company (Ben was missing). This brewpub is part of a bike shop. Very small brewhouse and 10 beers on tap. Beers are mediocre at the best (the Milk Stout stands out). We also tried the Pale Ale and the Session Ale, which we did not like too much. Liked the ambiance (long wooden table, US flags and a popcorn machine). We celebrate the King’s win of the British open, which makes this venue unforgettable.“

“Wonderful, authentic , stone tavern dating back to the 1700's. Fire roaring in the fireplace. Snickerdoodle cheesecake on the menu!. The sweet and tangy wings are a bit hot. Avoid the habenaro sauce. It does not taste right- it is a bit too thick. The place is well staffed with friendly folks, like our server Eden. They have 16 beers on tap, including Victory beers and Old Chubb! You gotta like that!“

“How many times have I driven along the Pennsylvania Turnpike and gone roaring past this gem of an Inn, just a stone’s throw off the road? Well, I made the trip to Bedford on April 6, 2012 and what a discovery this place is! An old colonial tavern featuring excellent food and a dozen PA-brewed beers. They seem to have a special bond with Marzoni’s, who are just up the road in Duncansville. I started my evening in the pub room with the house specials, Forbes Trail Pale Ale and Liberty Pole Pilsner, both supplied by Marzoni’s. Then it was off to the dining room for a delicious reuben sandwich and a McSorley’s Black Lager. That was about all I dared sample before making the drive back to my hotel a half-hour away. I’m not sure whether it rates an "exceptional" tag, but it was certainly Excellent, is recommended to any parched travellers along the Turnpike or Route 30, and is a spot I’d like to return to!“

“Stopped by this place for a rest and a drink on the way back to Pittsburgh from Gettysburg. Even though on the map it appears right off the turnpike, its really a few miles away and would be hard to find without directions. When we got there it was about 5pm on a wednesday and the place was packed. Nice draft beer selections from a variety of micros with a few I hadn’t had before. A pint ran about $4-5. On a whim we ordered a plate of their wings which was excellent. Live music started up soon afterwards. Overall, definitely a nice PA turnpike stop.“

“Drove by this place for years and never stopped in. Boy am I sorry. A fully restored inn from the mid 1700s and the owner goes to great lengths to keep the mood colonial without being intrusive. Warm fire and period decorations with some nods to the frontier life in the ingredients and presentation on pewter plates and the like. And being in central PA, the prices are low for what you get. All of the 12 taps are micros and about 3/4 of them are PA brews with a focus on big malty beers and rich stouts. I would give a beer list but the owner mentioned that he rotates about 1/2 of the taps when the seasons change or new beers strike his fancy. "Always something new" to keep the locals coming back he says.“

“i love this place for the history, structure, friendly serice and patrons. It is often on my way as I travel between Pittsburgh and points on the coast. Food is Ok too. Only difficulty is it is not just off the turnpike. I usually take 31 to and from Somerset. It has a great collection of PA beers and a few others. Limit one per visit as I have to get back on the road. Love the roaring real fire in winter, the deck in Summer. Have to figure a way to spend the night .“

“Awesome old colonial building a few miles west of Bedford - apparently this is where the Whiskey Rebellion began... the building has a dining side and a tavern side, and the decor and design is fantastic - homely, like a lodge or cabin, with a colonial feel. Food selection was really good for central PA, with some good seafood dishes and some excellent soups - this is not run of the mill restaurant, this is a place that knows what they’re doing and they do it well, without any pretentiousness. Draft selection was fantastic, for really any place, not just central PA: Stoudts, Weyerbacher, East End, Penn, Erie, Troegs, Victory, Yards, Lancaster and more. I’ll definitely stop in again on my way through.“

“Nice place to eat and drink. This is a 1760s inn, and you can still rent rooms here. Great decor with old wooden floors, nice fireplace. Beer selection is limited, but the draught list includes Red Hook, Troegs, Erie, Appalachian, Marzoni’s, Johnstown, Bell’s. Some DFH bottles, too, including WWS. Nice menu items, from seafood to Italian to lamb.“
