“A standalone bar far into the Bronx. Inside there is a central bar with seats all around. Two rather large rooms with numerous tables and patio at the back. Horse races are featured on large TV screens and betting seems to be the area of interest for most of the clientele. Of course, this is probably because I visited the place in the early afternoon. They have 20 beers on tap, with interesting options. The food menu is extensive. It's a quite good place to visit though outside the mostly trodden path.“

“Minimalist industrial space. Beers from a range of styles, most done reasonably well. Flights available. Relaxed vibe. Probably not worth an excursion to the Bronx, but a nice place.“

“Visited at lunch time. Large, high-ceiling bar with an open area outside. Small food menu, about 20 beers on tap, nothing too extraordinary but mostly NY local craft beer. Not a very inspiring decor, but it was a rare find in the area for craft beer.“

“Visited on 8/20/20, during a rare going out at covid times. Small brewery next to car repair shows at an area I wouldn't want to be after dark. They have set up barrels and a few tables outside which seemed far enough from each other. They 6 beers on tap with one guest beer. They also had 8-10 cans, which could be bought in a mix-and-match form. Due to Covid they only had chips as food. I do like most of their beers, but there was nothing exciting when I visited.“

“A bit of walk from the nearest subway stop, and in a pretty unassuming area. Makes for a bit of a trek, without much else beer wise to do nearby. Outdoor seating is noisy, due to the location at the intersection of several busy roads. Indoors would probably be better. Beers are good, especially at the darker end of things. Singles available to go. Glad we stopped by, and it's only the location that means it won't be a frequent stop for us.“

“Music cool but staff sucks. Bitch Sheena behind the bar kept messing up drinks all night. You know my girl just told me that bitch in the black shirt on your instagram attacked her in BK. She got a record“

“A bar right next to Yankee Stadium, and very obviously set up for large crowds on game day. We went right after a Saturday afternoon game, and they had enough staff that there wasn't a long wait for anything. Good selection of beers, lots of local options. Well worth a visit if you're going to see the Yankees.“

“This is a supermarket, not a bar. However, they have a pretty impressive beer section. At least one time, I've found beers here that I saw nowhere else. They have a really good section of cheeses and bakery-fresh breads. Stay away from the produce. For some reason, it doesn't last more than a day or two, max.“

“Visited here in late July '18 on a Saturday afternoon during a quick NYC vacation. Located a few blocks from the Cypress Ave station on the 6 line. Located in an industrial area in an old converted warehouse it appears. Clean, industrial modern look inside with a few high top tables and a few bar stools. The brewing area is open as well with a few tables located there as well. Have about 8 or so of their own on tap, moderately priced for NYC and cans and growlers are available. Above average in quality, but was not crazy about the plastic glasses. Friendly young, diverse crowd, servers attentive and friendly. Glad we stopped by.“

“Very near to the 235th street 1 train station, large bar with rustic decor, 16 beers on tap with online access to what's available including the amounts on their website. Pub food, 20-30 bottles, and a beer club advertised in their menu. Nice place for the area. Mostly NY locals, blue collar people when I visited (lunch time).“

“A nice find next to Yankee Stadium in The Bronx. 23 beers on tap, with about half local brews, a smallish bar with additional space in an adjacent room, bar food menu, faux marble top bar, 5-6 screens showing various sports events, music at a sensible loudness level. The bar staff does not know much about craft beer, but they are enthusiastic. Worth a visit if you're around.“

“The Bronx Brewery is located on East 136th Street between Willow and Walnut not too far off I-278 and near the East River. There is no parking lot but street parking is available in the neighborhood.

The brewery is in a large brick warehouse painted black. The inside opens into the tasting room with a small bar and a few barrel tables with Oktoberfest-style tablemats. INdustiral look with white painted brick and pipes. There is a chalkboard at the end of the bar listing what is on draft and in bottles/cans.

Bronx Brewery has around 6-8 beers on tap in the tasting room. On my visit it included several Pale Ales (including Rye, Autumn etc), Gin Barrel Aged Belgian Ale and Red Zinfandel Barrel Aged Pale Ale . Samplers are available, and the beers were generally solid.

Service at the bar on a slow Sunday and during the brewery tour was engaging and knowledgeable.

The brewery does not serve food.

Overall this is a worthwhile brewery to check out for visitors to the city.“

“Not the easiest place to get to if you try to visit by public transit (or apparently by car on our visit). There’s a church around the corner and it was a Sunday, so I think that accounted for most of the parking diffiuclty that we had. Really empty, which was nice for us, as we sat at the bar and chatted with the one guy who was working. Really friendly guy. The beers were all solid, including a couple of less common ones I haven’t seen around the city. Had a fridge with some cans and bottles for take-away as well in addition to growlers of the tap beers. “

“Nice stop in The Bronx...visited here after The Bronx Brewery and The Bronx Beer Hall. Three of us walked in on a Sunday evening and found a small crowd enjoying a comedy night...of course they all turned to looked at us...and soon we were the butt of the comedian’s jokes...and that was "before" he found out we were from Jersey"...lol! We ordered flights and tried all of their beers. The offerings were solid...good to very good...nothing outstanding...but good enough to recommend you check it out yourself...wouldn’t make a special trip...combine it with others in the area like we did. Nice place...good people running it.“

“Definitely a fun place to stop when in the Arthur Avenue area (combine a visit here with Bronx Brewery & Gun Hill...but plan your food here or out on Arthur Ave). Tons of food to eat...you’re in a market hall after all. We arrived near closing time on a Sunday evening...two of us ordered beers...the third went out on the avenue and brought us back some amazing pizza to eat at the bar. It was fun eating the pizza and drinking while the market was closing down, cleaning up, and turning off lights...and some of the workers were joining us for beers. This is the place to go to have great food "with" some good craftbeer...but it’s not a craftbeer destination. We stopped here after Bronx Brewery and on our way to Gun Hill as I suggested above...so it worked out perfect! Understand that and you’ll like this place.“

“The Bronx Brewery should be your next NYC stop if you’ve not yet been here. It’s in a really cool little corner of The Bronx...everybody goes past here...but nobody would have otherwise stopped here...that all changes now. Very cool taproom and fantastic staff. We got a personal tour on a Sunday evening...climbed all over all the equipment...talked to the staff...had a great time. Best part...the beer...this place is making some really great beer! 9-10 when we visited recently. The IPA, APA, & Rye Ale were very good. I loved the Sticky Rye and the Uptown Coffee Stout too...but the one that blew me away was the Barrel Aged Belgium...aged in gin barrels! This beer was spectacular...and worth going for alone. See my IG account for pictures. This is now a must visit in NYC...include with a tour of The Bronx Beer Hall, and Gun Hill Brewery.“

“Took the family finally up to Arthur Ave for some Italian goodies and since nearby with car swung by here. They just finished a renovation it’s cool garage style joint with some wood. Probably had 6 beers on but I just grabbed a 4 pack of Void of Light and left. Friendly bartender and 3 other folks sitting quietly. Really out there brewery but no complaints.“

“Upscale garage brewery with Revolutionary War theme but not overdone. Beers range from average to quite good with the stout and IPAs at the top. On a main road, though you will likely have to park on a side street.“

“First brewery on 5 Boro Brew Tour 2015. Nice clean decent sized brewery. Tasting room has small bar with a few cafe tables and decorated with subway tiles. Dig the decor and staff was friendly and gave us a tour they have nice canning line. There were 6 drafts and you can buy cans to go. Back patio has corn hole and picnic tables.“

“Decent enough little brewpub / taproom. 6 beers on, sadly not including their gold medal-winning BA stout from this year’s GABF. Their pomegranate wheat is an aquired taste, it seems, although I thought it was pretty good. It’s up to you if you want to brave a trip to the Bronx to go to this place. Luckily I was with a NY cop friend of mine!“

“This is a food market, not a craft beer joint, but I wanted to put in a good word for them. First of all, they recently expanded their beer section and now carry a nice range of craft selections, the best in the area. Secondly, it is an excellent food store, with a large selection of fresh items and a recently expanded deli counter. They seem to be doing very well, and they deserve to be.“

“This store surprised me, I use to walk by the store all the time and didn’t walk in. One Rainy Day I just walked in and the store shocked me. The store has a great beer selection, it has beer that I just couldn’t even find elsewhere. They also had a great prepared food sections which also surprised me. I consider my find as a gem!!! “

“Visited March 2013. At Sunday daytime it is full packed! There was barrel-aged beer festival going on when I visited. 16 taps, 1 cask (Southern Tier 2xIPA). Lots of good bottles. Sports on TV. Nice ambiance. Quality place and afaik the only decent place around.“

“Great and constantly changing selection with a couple of staples, such as Weihenstephaner. Great atmosphere - very laid back and casual. Never have to deal with DJs and obnoxious bad music as there is a jukebox and they don’t blare the music. Excellent food and very pleasant servers. This place is amazing! They will engrave your name on the wall if you have 100 different beers there within a year.“

“Great selection and variety with a staff of beautiful and knowledgeable bartenders. Location is a pain in the ass to get to though if you’re driving; almost no parking and the area is sketchy at best.“

“Great place, but the beer selection has turned a littler more pedestrian. When they first opened it was pretty amazing for this part of the Bronx. I’m assuming that they had to come a little more down to earth with the selection due to the location. Not to say I’m not pleased to have them near by. The food is bar food but on the higher end and very good. The Sunday brunch is tasty and Jason the bartender is on top of things. My only complaints are that the music is loud at night so don’t plan on having a conversation and on a weekend night they blast hiphop, but that’s just not my thing. If you want to go there to simply sample beer and have a conversation about it, go on weekend days. Also some of the bartenders aren’t up to par on their beer knowledge. Brunch really rocks. “

“This is not a beer lovers mecca, I am afraid. But it is a great little Irish pub! The atmosphere is excellent, and it looks like it could have been transported brick by brick from Ireland and reconstructed in New York City. It is a comfortable, popular, friendly place with a number of dedicated regulars. An Beal Bocht is a classic neighborhood bar that attracts young and old, and offers live music (sometimes Irish music) and occasional poetry readings. A very appealing pub, and they know how to pour a Guinness.“
