82 /100 1905 STEUBENVILLE PIKE
“This is a hidden gem off of old Steubenville pike in Pa just before you get into WVa. Get off of the gray ribbon 4 lane 22 Bavington exit to see this place. Gravel driveway on a pull off. It’s simply an old village rural green house family business that makes great wines and beer. Nice overall beer tasting experience. They were cooking chicken over open fire on the spit the day I visited and I got a nice big barbecued half-chicken for $5, super. The ambiance is laid-back rustic enjoyable brewing trying to meet PA LCB laws. They do wine & beer but by state laws you had to keep them separate & I think now that law has changed, thank you, I hope. The service is personal & friendly and the service is very knowledgeable about their brews. I did a couple of drafts and then a I had a good flight of half dozen of homemade local brews for less than $10. All beers were pretty much on style but I especially liked the stout and the pony. As an appreciated extra, I had a mead and a cider as well! Overall very good beer tasting experience. Will be back with my better half. BTW, they have free tours of the brewery downstairs in the cellar & the selection of local wines is fantastic as well.“
