62 /100 11937 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY Half a mile or so from Garden Path, and across the street from Flyers (airport bar) this is a quaint little tasting room. 10 beers on tap, with flights of 4 for $11, 6 for $15 or all 10 for $22. Pints for $5 or schooners for $4. Friendly service. It's a comfy place, and worth a stop if you're in the area, but not worth a special trip. |
68 /100 15426 SUITE B AIRPORT DR Although an airport bistro, it is a local so you can easily pop in. Beer is old school and just ok. Flight are cheap although just the mainstay beers. Food was fun, the peanut butter, maple syrup burger was a mess delight. Prices are a bit high and it is hard to get excited about this place with some great breweries literally steps away, but if you are hungry a nice spot. |
66 /100 11937 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY South Nut is obviously a much newer place than the original, and looks clean and tidy. Nothing exceptional about it, but of course the brewery itself is a lager brewer, famous one at that. I'm not mad about their lagers, but it's a point of distinction that really makes a visit worthwhile. Especially now that you can make this area a full brewery crawl. |
78 /100 11653 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY Pretty basic taproom, but they are known for their fun beers. I would add great service and a really nice bottle shop as well. They are committed to using as much local product as possible, including local flora, and the beers have a unique house character as a result. That alone makes it one of the must-visit breweries in NW Washington. |
84 /100 11653 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY Out in the countryside, this is worth the trek and a nice stop between Vancouver and Seattle. Very homey, comforting interior, with a bunch of house beers on tap, plus a bunch of guests. Nicely curated bottle selection as well, with some French ciders, ice ciders, and a great selection of sour/wild ales. All the beers I tried were quite nice. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the quality. Extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming service. I will definitely be back here. Highly recommended. |
76 /100 11937 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY A large production brewery with a good sized tap room and quite a few beers for Chuckanut. Nice and slow means good service. Flights and wifi make this a good quiet stop, which although out of the way, is close to some other good breweries. |
82 /100 11653 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY A nice spot, don't let the warehouse exterior fool you. Get inside and it is warm and inviting. Great and passionate service. Fantastic selection of their own beers plus a remarkable selection of their friends beers in bottles. No food, but they do have wifi and small pours. A great stop. |
88 /100 11653 HIGGINS AIRPORT WAY Was on my way to Chuckanut South Nut when the sign for this place caught my eye. I continued the half mile further to the brewery to enjoy a beer, and asked the staff at South Nut about this place, and was told that I have to check it out. They were very right. And then some! Was pleasantly surprised to find a fantastic taplist including not only many great beers, but also a beer of their own, as well as a mead of their own. Awesome! Grabbed a couple pours (offered in 5, 10, and 16 oz), and began browsing the bottles like I usually do. This place is something special. I've never been in a beer place so out of the way that had such a unique and intriguing selection. I've probably hardly seen selection like this anywhere I've gone. Many fantastic bottles that I've tried, ones I've always wanted to try, and a bunch that I have never seen in the PNW. Wish they had more selection as far as their product goes, but they are still new. A comfortable seating area. As expected, it seemed like a regulars local heavy crowd. If you are headed to the Bellingham area, and certainly if you are heading to Chuckanut South Nut, this is a must stop. |
66 /100 Haggen’s Grocery (Grocery Store) 757 HAGGEN DR All the Haggen stores tend to be very similar in what they offer and even the shop layout is similar; they may have as lightly different beer selection though. I usually visit them in the late night, and, maybe also because they have few customers, the service has been very helpful. The selection is pretty good to spot some nice local beer, and the prices are good too, with an extra 10% discount if you buy 6 bottles. They also carry 3 meads from Sky River. |
92 /100 Northwest Brewer’s Supply (Homebrew Shop) 940 S SPRUCE ST great homebrew shop in downtown anacortes. These guys will definitely take the time to answer any questions you might have about anything beer/winemaking related. The customer service is second to none. The wyeast smackpacks they have in stock are super fresh- usually about a week from manufacture date. They have beginner extract kits available as well as anything the all-grain brewer may need. good prices and a great selection of grains and hops. |
