“an excellent Italian restaurant or trattoria, which is for sure worth visiting even if they have only 3 beers on tap: Feldschlössen lager, weizen and a seasonal one“

“good bar with 10 beers on tap (mainly Grimbergen and Valaisanne ones, but they also have Brooklyn lager and IPA, Guinness and two Swiss macro lagers) and a few bottles (2 from Nébuleuse, La Chouffe and Delirium Tremens, as well as Corona lager); worth visiting for a beer - or two“

“A modern place with 6 beers on tap (Brooklyn IPA, a few from Valaisanne and their own blonde); not really a must visit place, but good to tick another brewery from canton of Geneva“

“Small bar in the heart of Carouge. It has a restaurant in the cellar, but if you just want to drink you have to stick to the ground floor bar area. The taps are 4 boring beers from Heineken. However the bottle list is excellent with bottles from Trois Dames, BFM, Dr Gabs, Pere Jakob, and a changing selection from local micro’s. They had bottles from Barbus and Canobeer when I visited. The main problem is that the blackboard menu only lists the regular beers, and the bar staff are not always aware of what else they have. I had to tell the young girl serving me (who spoke English luckily) that they did indeed sell Canobeer (which was mentioned on their facebook page). She however did show me what else what in the fridge. Prices are normal for the Geneva area (ie very expensive). Worth a visit if you are in the area“

“Modern brewpub, not far from the Carouge Marche tram stop. Very busy when I visited. About half of the bar had been closed for a private function leaving the rest very crowded. I managed to get a seat a the bar. Sadly owing a change of ownership of the brewery, they had no draught beer on, and only 2 bottles. I was told that both were from their brewery. Well the Blonde was. However the amber turned out to be Ittinger Klosterbrau from Heineken. Service was very slow and disinterested. I suspect I caught them on a bad day, so will rerate next time I’m in Geneva. However I can only rate as i find. Disappointing“

“The Brasserie des Tours (BdT) brewpub/restaurant is a short walk from Carouge Market. Cold and staid inside, but of course you’re sitting outside on the patio with the lovely view. Good music and friendly service. I ordered the degustation - only 4 of their 6 were available, which worked for me as I was flying later that evening - for 9.60 Fr. While that’s steep for 400ml of beer, this is Geneva so what the hell. Worth stopping by for the ticks.“

“As all Palais de la Bière, don’t expect more than highly commercial draft beers and a few dozens of common bottles, although it’s always possible to find a good one to drink; a few Germans (Weihenstephaner), Belgians (Chimay and others…), French (Lancelot). The small place is crammed with bikes and other collectibles that looks a bit kitsch but at least it’s the owner’s passion (+1), but the outside with those yellow plastic chairs is suitable to a bar near the beach (-1).“

“There are two of these places in town. A biker style bar with a beer shop inside. A nice outdoor area and a huge selection of beers for the area. Both local and international. No food except snacks, but a very freindly place and has a wonderfull friendly staff. They have singles for take away and it is a fun place. Recommended as an alternative in this other wise high class city.“
