72 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Visited during the summer on a Thursday afternoon. Parking is an issue when they are full, but adequate. Beautiful stand alone building. Didn’t do the tour because of time restraints. Service was adequate. Mainly a very large gift shop with almost anything you could imagine emblazoned with the Leinenkugel’s logo, shirts, glasses, bottle openers, canoes, probably even a toilet seat, although I didn’t see one. Some great old pictures and posters on the walls of days gone buy. Eight beers on tap, samples only, but nothing special, reasonable prices. Some bottles sold here, but nothing you couldn’t find at many other places. Overall I would say it’s worth the trip if your close to Chippewa Falls. |
90 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE The beer for the most part is decent but the tour is very well done and the Leinie Lodge is a beautiful place full of their merchandise. |
82 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE wow impressive people there really like their beer service was friendly and quick had 8 beers on tap not expensive will take tour again if in chippewa falls |
72 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Visited in the summer, never rated the place. Very nice, free tour, free pours and a cool woodsy atmosphere. |
60 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE In a word: disappointed. Basically a gift shop with samples. 80% of the place is merchandise. Theres some nice memorabilia to check out if you can dodge all the bozos digging through the t-shirts and loose kids. Tiny sampling bar. Samples only. The samples are 5 for 1$ and you get a sample glass to keep (great deal), but thats it...want a pint of something - no luck. No beer sold there to take home. No at all what I hoped. |
80 /100 Every Buddy’s Bar (Bar) 19 W. CENTRAL ST. a good local bar. 16 beers on tap! Great food, nice Bartenders.
a little loud in the later evenings, but if you like music on weekends, there is always someone playing.
every month, something here gets a little better. :) |
72 /100 Gordy’s County Market (Grocery Store) 17158 COUNTY HIGHWAY J When Gordy’s rebuilt they doubled down on their liquor department and it’s now the best in the area for wine and beer. A wide variety of midwestern micro brews, some singles and good prices. The service is never great, but never bad either. On the weekends they offer free wine tastings (occasionally beer too). |
60 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Was a really cool tour, but the beers lacked in selection and flavor. |
52 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Did the brewery tour while heading to Chicago for the weekend. Had a great time and like many brewery tours it was free. This was the first time I heard about mixing the different beers. Remember having a honey bear (honey weiss and berry weiss) that was decent. Highly recommended even though my rating is low due to it being very hard to have a high selection score with only a few Leinie options on tap. |
66 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Tricked Amanda and Vaughn into coming here with me on our way to Green Bay for Josh and Angie’s wedding. A tasting room and gift shop. Beer is okay, actually the beer mixes here were the highlight. |
76 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE The brewery is integrated with the cool historic site of where Leinenkugel’s beer first began. The staff was very helpful and all had a great deal of information on the history of the leinenkugel familiy and the history of the brewery. The only downside of the brewery is that you can only drink a certain amount of beer there. Also, the merchandise that is actually unique and the signs etc. that you would want in your house are very expensive. On the other hand there are many trinkets, clothing, and glassware that are very reasonably priced. You need to try the mixed beer recipes if you go to this brewery. Overall it was a great experience touring and just enjoying this brewery. |
54 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Fun brewery tour - about 6 Leine’s beers available after the tour, cool lodge/gift shop. Fun time. |
64 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Awesome tour of a historic brew grounds. Lots of free samples too and a sweet gift shop. First visit was 2010. I would recommend this brewery tour to anyone. |
68 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE I have done the Leinie tour 2X now. A great value in that it’s free! The Lodge has a nice northwoods feel with a cool bar where the samples are served. The tour is cool - malt and brew areas, bottling/canning and then back to the lodge of some sampling. Definitely a value worth pursuing if in the area. |
66 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Made the visit to the Lenie’s Lodge and took the brewery tour in early 2009. Nice tour, very informative. The place still has a family feeling to it and looks, acts and smells like a small family brewer and not a division of Miller/Coors. The Lenie Lodge is fabulous. Lots of beer memorabilia and gifts. Tasting was fun but limited to 2 beers. Nice stop and would recommend it if you are in the area. |
62 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Tour was quite informative with decently sized groups. Brewing process and history was explained very well. Lodge is basically a tourist attraction with tons of Leinie’s merchandise but does have a nice atmosphere. Only two, seven ounce samples are given and include all of their year-round brews and the current seasonal. Not bad for $0. Worth the stop for sure. |
58 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Lodge is a museum/gift shop with more Leinie’s merchandise than you could imagine. They had a lot of old photos and old bottles/cans on display that were pretty neat. Tour didn’t allow photos, which was a bummer. Tour girl was knew her script pretty well and gave a nice walking tour of their brewery. Unfortunately, they are not brewing/bottling on Saturdays, so the factory was completely empty. I would have liked to have seen the bottling operation in action, as you walk right by the area. We visited during craft brewing week, so the free tour came with 8 or so 4-oz samples. They could have used a 3rd server in their bar for the samples, as they 2 folks they had working when I was there were pretty unattentive. Still, really nice considering it costs $0. Worth a stop if you are in the general area, through this is about all there is to do in Chippewa Falls. |
52 /100 Native Bay Restaurant (Restaurant) 9504 COUNTY HIGHWAY S I wouldn’t have put this on RB but it does have a decent selection for a more diner club up north style resteraunt. Food is ok and place tries it’s best to be upscale although I found it a bit lacking. |
52 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE The tour guide was very enthusiastic. The tour was busy enough to keep you interested and they covered some of the history as well. Unfortunately they don’t make the greatest beer so when you come to the end you can have three drinks in the lodge (which is a tourist trap and not much else). |
62 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Located in a small town in Wisconsin, this brewery was the first that I ever toured. The tour itself was pretty interesting, as the tour guide was informative and entertaining. The tour was free, but the only drawback to it was that they only give you two samples, because they say they want you to support the local businesses. Kinda disappointing in that aspect (especially since it’s a drive from wherever you’re coming from), but worth the stop if you’re in the area. |
50 /100 Native Bay Restaurant (Restaurant) 9504 COUNTY HIGHWAY S A supper club type of restaurant that happens ot have a decent beer selection. Nothing really rare here but a decent selection. Food is very good and the dress is casual. Stop here to eat after taking the Lienies tour. |
76 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Visited a few days ago. Really nice place. The tour was pretty informative and the guide knew all about brewing and the brewing process. A lot of people in the group asked good questions that the tour guide was able to answer. The beer was served in 7 oz. sampler glasses, but at a perfect temperature. Down sides: Only 2 samples per person and not all of the beers are available to sample. |
64 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE I visited quite some time ago, may not apply now? Lager was refreshing on tap, right temperature for brew. Service was very pleasnat. |
70 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Toured in the summer of 05. New store (Linnie’s Lodge) and tasting bar. Great service with friendly servers. Brew house was typical mid major brewer. |
60 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Don’t miss the Leinies Brewery tour if you are in Chippewa Falls for any reason. You won’t be sorry! |
58 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE About 7 beers on tap, including the rare, Leinie’s Light. The Lodge is very nice, ton’s of leinie’s stuff for sale, but no beer sold at the brewery.
The tour was slick and professional, but scripted to the letter. I got the feeling that a question that wasn’t addressed in the script couldn’t be answered. It is disappointing that a brewery with German heritage, still using their original yeast, is unwilling to make German styles of beer, besides the lager and bock. Equally disappointing is a family brewery that is bought out by Miller. |
58 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE good place to visit.. the tour is nice but I’ve been on it to many times having grown up in CF. I like the new lodge they just opened, much bigger, lots of gear, and free beer, all the usuals and whatever seasonals are on now. |
64 /100 1 JEFFERSON AVE Leinie’s offers a good tour and gives a solid batch of info regarding the brewing process. The Leinie Lodge has boat loads of souviniers as well as the taps. They tend to have their regulars and any seasonals on tap in 5 ounce glasses. |
