“Brewpub sports bar in the centre. Great energy to the place, house brews, tasting trays, guests, specials. Didn’t try the food but people around were happy. Looks great from the outside too“

“Large space with girders, concrete floor, bricks and a long bar. Behind the bar is the brewery. On the other side a pizza kitchen. It’s has atmosphere. For me the lighting was a bit off putting but I guess it added to the atmosphere. Laid back feel. Pleasant music. Friendly attentive staff. About 8 of their own beers, and maybe another 16 pumps. Had two very acceptable IPAs. Also had a black pudding and mushroom pizza. It was more Irish than Italian - which was fine - and it was very good. 12Euro pizza and beer deal is good value.“

“Pleasant pub with a mix of old locals and tourists when I was there. Service was friendly and efficient. There’s more than ten pumps but no craft beer that I could see. Food was solid pub fare.“

“Quite a large bar down an alley. But sy, lively, but comfortable. Friendly helpful service. 8 taps, 6 their own beers. Pizzas clearly available but didn’t try. Good value.“

“Nice pub on the riverside. All about beer (and spirits). Comfortable. Quick friendly service. About 30 taps and well in excess of 100 bottles (and similar for whiskey). No sign of food. Good value.“

“Small bar with a strong focus on beer (and some spirits). Walks and ceilings covered in beer related stuff. Service quick if a bit taciturn. 8 taps of mostly interesting beer. Great music at volume that you can hear but does not intrude. Didn’t see any suggestion of food. I'm from out of town so it’s hard to assess value but seems ok.“

“Little beer bar in the city. Upstairs from what in theory was a beer shop but looks just like another bar (maybe they changed recently). The old, down-and-dirty pub look is fascinating, like all the beer coasters and plates plastered everywhere, but they could definitely do something about the couches, which are all stained. Selection was not bad. Food is not available. Fair prices. Overall, a nice place.“

“Nice little beer pub in Cork. Very warm ambiance, kind service, good selection of craft beer. They have - if I counted well - 25 taps and 1 cask. Some are industrial beers, but selection is varied and interesting. Good amount of Irish craft beers. Average prices.“

“Visited August 2016. Small, a bit claustrophobic interior but nice, big patio with lots of greenery. Nice service, though you have to mind that when you visit their brewhouse, you will be met with some corporate talk. After all, this is a corporate brewery. Didn't have any food but the pizza that you can get in the patio seems to be a fairly popular choice. The beer selection was slightly flawed, though their stout is worth popping in for a pint. It was quite crowded, which might be since there seem to be almost no beery places in Cork and most of those that exist close fairly early.“

“Large brewpub, lots of baseball screens, very colonial for the US thing. The beers occasionally surprise but can also disappoint. A couple of other Irish specials.“

“A very good, almost riverside boozer with a strong beery theme. A bit Dutch brown café, a bit British pub and a bit US craft bar type 3: the old one. There is a growing Irish selection.“

“This is Cork City, not Nyork City. On the corner of Devonshire and Pine, this smallish, cosy, wood-panelled, slightly shabby but civilised, friendly upstairs bar, covered in beer mats, cannot be found by accident. If the 100 or so beers that adorn the fridges and the taps are not enough for yers, try talking. The Irish craft offerings are expanding. Not in the most salubrious area but only a block from the quay, so it’s not life-threatening.“

“It is unusual to find an eclectic bottle shop in this neck of the woods stocking so many beers, with currently 150+ Irish beers from the craft end and none from the industrial end. Many unusual and interesting European choices too. If I was a Cork resident I would be here, or upstairs in the bar, more than once a week.“

“Great little place down by the side of the Lee, making a splendid third landing after the Abbey and the Bierhaus. Indeed arguably the best, for its live music upstairs, yacking bar (NB: this means a bar at which you can just yack away) and open heart.“

“Small shop with very nice selection of Irish beers (foreign too, but it isn´t what I was interested). Shopkeeper was very helpful and generous. His advices and recommendations about Irish craft scene were very useful for us. Thank you!
Worth to visit.“

“Very nice brewpub on left quay, just few minutes of walk of city center. Large dark room is divided to few recesses, on courtyard is pleasant garden. 6 taps with their own beer, 2 with local Irish craft beers, 1 cider. Good prices, friendly (but a bit uninterested) staff. Worth to visit if you are in Cork.“

“Review from Jan 2015. Pretty busy with shuffleboard table, mostly porterhouse own offerings with no seasonals. Its a nice spot if you;re in the area but by no means the best in Cork.“

“Review of mail order service: Good range of bottled beers at keen prices and fast delivery. Good range of Irish stuff, including seasonals. Shop: spacious with nice displays, you can sometimes find a few specials, but mostly its the standard range of Irish beers. A highlight is the deli also on site for all your tasty food needs.“

“best range on draught in Cork, up to six Irish craft beers and some less common overseas offerings. An extensive bottle list is perhaps on the pricey side, but some decent lambics available should the mood take you. Very reasonably priced and well kept cask (with discount for beoir members) Quite Belgian cafe-like in feeling though feels a bit out of place.“

“Excellent range or beers from Ireland, lots of stuff I’d not tracked down, stored both at room temperature and in fridges. Theres perhaps the widest range of Belgian beers in Ireland, with plenty of interesting BA offerings from de struisse and beers from further afield too. Opinionated but knowledgable owner Anton will be happy to advise.“

“Smallish bar with seating downstairs and a few upstairs, there’s a small but well chosen selection on draught and a few more in bottle. Likely to be your best bet for cottonball on draught in the city centre. Friendly barman, decent prices and comfy spot handily mid way between bierhaus and abbots. DJ sets on a saturday evening, so avoid at that time if its not your thing!“

“Large selection of beers. Purchased a Galway Bay, and a Westvleteren Blonde. Great local Irish selection. Had some beers that I would consider "tough to get", but keep in mind I’m from the U.S. So, a lot of this is tough for me to get. The employee I talked to was great! Very soft spoken gent, but as I asked questions, he began helping me more and giving advice. By the time I left, I was happy that I had talked with him. I would recommend stopping in!“

“Very quiet on a lunchtime, opening is 1pm. A good selection of the breweries own beers, a Blonde, Pale Ale, Stout, lager etc. a good choice if you’re not looking for the traditional oirish (I.e tourist) experience“

“I visited this place a few times during the course of a three day stay in Cork and I was impressed with the wide selection of beers from countries ranging from US, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland and Germany. The selection clearly carried evidence of somebody knowing what was good beer. The service was competent and helpfully minded. I managed to find a few vintage gems during my visits as well. The prices are perhaps a bit on the high end but quality comes at a price I suppose. The locally sourced food and delicatessen available here are a big plus and help to create nice ambience. Of the three off-licenses I visited during my stay in Ireland this one had the best selection by far.“

“Fantastic beer selection, top quality wines and some top shelf whiskeys. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Over the last couple of years they’ve really improved the front of the shop, bringing in lots of artisan food products. They support quality local businesses too.“

“Nice layout with both outdoor and indoor seating. Attractive copper DME brewhouse with 4 fementers, 4 conditioning tanks, 2 brite beer tanks and 3 serving vessels. Outdoor patio with multiple covered and uncovered areas. Smoker usually hang out in the uncovered areas. Glass-walled brewhouse . Brewhouse tour reveals imported malts, 2-roller mill, 6-head manual bottle filler, and 4-head keg filler. Since being taken over my Molsen-Coors, new production will begin near old Beamish brewery in Cork. Popul;arity now increasing for beers that include Rebel Red, Jameson Stout, Jack Daniels bourbon, Friar Weisse, and Pale Ale. Nice patio and semi-late night bar. Sucessful brewer. Wosh them well in the corporate worls.“

“I really enjoyed this place. Very original...great feel to the place. The people are very welcomimg. The night I was there they had somebody visiting that was making wood fired pizza which they insisted I would like even after I said I was from NYC...they were right! The beers were very good compared to the syles I had been finding in Ireland during this visit (hard for me to find the hoppy beers I love from back home). I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area...even worth a special trip.“

“The best selection in any off-licence in Cork, if not Ireland. Huge range of bottles, from Ireland, UK, US, Belgium, Germany and others too. So long as your not looking for something as rare as hen’s teeth, there’s a decent chance you’ll find it in here. Great bargain bins as well, where you can pick up terrific beer that’s just past its sell-by date for as little as €0.70 a bottle (I just picked up 12 bottles of Brooklyn Lager and 4 bottles of Oyster Stout for just over a tenner!). Only drawback is that service can leave a lot to be desired with the guys in there regularly enough having a grumpy day and not being the most helpful - that said, if you catch them on a good day, they’d be happy to answer any questions you have. Overall, a great shop and my usual shop for any craft beers of any nature.“

“Bradleys Off-license has a wonderful selection of beer and whisky. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about his stock. The prices are a little high but you cannot get a lot of the stock anywhere else, you get what you pay for. High quality and highly recommended. The grocery section has a fantastic selection of artisan foods produced locally.“

“Simply a great, great bar. The ambience and service is top notch. The draft beers are mostly all brewed out the back and are excellent quality. Their beers have won many awards. You can get pizza out the back, fresh cooked in a stone oven on thursday/friday nights. They have many festivals highlighting Irish craft brewers. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Altogether a wonderful place to visit.“
