The food is pub fare but done well. If you are looking for a swanky place to drink this place will disappoint, if you are looking for a comfortable local boozer then it is a good place to go.“ |
| 68 /100 DAVIDSTON “We visited this brewery on 29th of June 2013. Jenni, the mother of the brewer opened for us although we came after the official opening hours, was really very nice! Brand new brewehouse made in Hungary, whole brewery was very much in order and clean. Nice little brew shop where you can buy a small selection of T-Shirts and some bottled beers. Overall a very positive surprise to find such good brewery on black isle.“ |

We came to visit Cormarty Brewing Company, which unfortunately closed just before we arrived, so we could see the brewery only from outside. They opened in 2011, brewery is located in beautiful area, view to the sea, they have small brew shop attached. This pub serves 2 beers from the local brewery: Atlantic Drift - American Hop Coaster: good taste considering this beer has only 3.5% alcohol + Happy Chappy - New Wave Pale Ale - very fruity good Pale Ale with 4.1 %. Sitting outside nicer than inside as Pub inside a bit messy.“ |
| 86 /100 DAVIDSTON “We stopped past here on our recent beer tour of the Black Isle. I contacted Craig the brewer beforehand via email to organise a visit, which he was more than happy to do. The brewery is located down Canon Road in Davidston, about 3 miles before Cromarty village. The brewery itself is fairly spacious for the size of the operation, full of shiny new equipment and the wonderful smell of hops and malt pervading the air. Craig is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about making the best beer possible. I tried all five of the Cromarty beers and was really impressed by the quality of them all, considering the brewery has just started up. Cromarty have begun bottling and are in the process of creating a proper onsite and online shop. We had a great afternoon chatting about the Cromarty brewery and craft beer in general. Well worth a visit. I expect great things from this brewery in the future.“ |
