34 /100 Hotel v Pivovaře Davle (Restaurant) K PIVOVARU 1, DAVLE, PRAHA ZÁPAD A hotel located inside a former brewery, also claiming to brew their own beers at the premises. No signs of brewing kettles at our visit, and the waiter couldnt help either. Czech language only, but he was rather amused by 3 men taking photos of the beer labels. Strange interior, with bot a bowling alley and some large aquariums. |
40 /100 Hotel v Pivovaře Davle (Restaurant) K PIVOVARU 1, DAVLE, PRAHA ZÁPAD The ride from Praha Hlavni Nadrazi, the main train station, to the small town Davle, took about 50 minutes. From the train station we crossed river Vltava on the old Davle Bridge which was used as the main location for the Hollywood war film "The Bridge at Remagen". But, reconstruction has made the bridge a bit narrower and is now only for pedestrians and cyclists. Enough history, what about beer? Our main goal was the microbrewery at Hotel V Pivovare, which has a brewing history going back to 1901. The hotel makes several beers, that you can buy in 1.5 L PET bottles. On tap, there is usually one Davelske pivo plus Gambrinus and Urquell. Sadly, this was not the case during our visit! No craft beer on tap but in an almost empty fridge we found one single beer: "Hotel V Pivovare Davelske Zazvorove Pivo" We shared this rather obscure ginger beer and had lunch. No English speaking staff. Later we shared some Staropramen bottles on a park bench by the river.... (Visited October 7th 2014)
