74 /100 101 N MAIN ST Visited early October, 2018. Small joint downtown. Bartender was very nice and pretty into beer, which is a nice change of pace these days. He could definitely tell you about their beers, the guest beers, etc. Decent quantity of their beers on tap and a good selection of guest taps. Good flight prices. No food, but you can order food for delivery/bring your own in, which I did. Overall, it was a good experience and I'll definitely be back when I visit. I found the beer here to be far superior to Door 4 if that's why you're here reading these reviews. |
62 /100 1214 CERRO GORDO ST Visited a couple times early October, 2018. This is a pretty cool place in a big spacious warehouse. Everything seems pretty new, clean, and nice. The main ambiance downside is those stupid gambling machines you see all over bars in IL now - right when you walk in the door. Gross. The bartenders were friendly and mildly knowledgeable about the beers on hand. The food truck was down/not open when I was there, so I didn't get to try that. Average prices. Decent quantity of their beers and a few guest taps. The main problem is their beer is TERRIBLE. Infected, diacetyl, off style, you name it. I could hardly choke down most of their beers I ordered and ended up getting guest taps on other visits. I'll go back to tick when I'm in town, but at the moment this place is not a destination. |

92 /100 Donnie’s Homespun Pizza (Restaurant) 126 S OAKLAND AVE This has become our favorite place of choice in Decatur. Located in the middle of Millikin University campus area, Donny’s has multiple selections of craft beers from outside the Illinois area. Great way to try beers that we dont normally get here. Wraps and pizza’s are huge and very reasonably priced. Overall great place to stop in for a beer or dinner with family. |
