“Nice Brewhouse, About half-dozen of their brews on tap, some above average, some average. Overall, worth going to.“

“Checked in here on the way back from Madison. Uh oh, I said on the way in as it looked like a retirement home. Inside I was definitely in the youngest quartile. Bartender was friendly and helpful. Beers were clearly crafted for the masses. Nothing bad, but all were safe and boring. Flight of six, of which you can only pick one, is $7.50. Maybe worth a stop as its right off the interstate but not otherwise.“

“Dinner w/Family (they knew I was into beer and asked about this or Water Street...figured this wasn’t a chain...). Ambiance is pretty cool - spacious place with lots of brewery supplies throughout - cool corner areas for large parties look like you’re walking into a keg - all in all, the place had a nice vibe, and even when it got busy it wasn’t ’that’ busy feeling. Service was pretty good - didn’t expect much from the waitress about the beer and wasn’t disappointed. Samplers are limited to a select set of 5, which was a bit of a downer. Food was actually pretty solid...prices generally fair. Only had a couple beers - both IPAs on tap, and both were quaffable and pretty decent. Would go back again.“

“A large restaurant with a focus on banquets. Place kind of has a chain feel to it and the bar is a bit removed from the rest of the place with a few TVs. Service was solid and the bartender knew a bit about the beers. 10 taps with a sampler available during my visit (plus bud bottles if that is your thing). Food was pretty average but the prices were pretty solid. A decent spot overall.“

“Nice Brewhouse, a bit out of the way, great inside, staff was not attentive though and really didn’t know a ton about the different beer styles. Food was good. Decent beer. Overall, worth going to.“

“Huge place located right off the freeway. In short, it is a restaurant that happens to brew beer. The beers are mostly non-descript versions of different light beers. No beer was terrible, but nothing stood out either. Food was just OK. Don’t go out of your way.“

“Visited October 10, 2010 on the way into Milwaukee.

You dont even need directions to get here since you can see it from the freeway. Plenty of parking too. Inside is very large with plenty of tables and bar seating. Despite not having a lot of customers the service was moderately slow. I didnt eat anything there.

I tried 7 or 8 beers, most of which were just ok. Might stop back in simply because it’s right off the freeway.“

“Visited 10/10/2010.
9 house taps.

Stopped in on Sunday morning on my way from Madison to Milwaukee. Not a whole lot of people around but the few that were were watching football. Nice people over all and the place was clean.

Service was slow (but nice even if not all that knowledgeable) and she spent most of her time either watching the game or talking to this guy at the end of the bar. I did eventually get a sampler and a menu. Decided that I didnt want to eat there after all and left after trying the sampler.

The beer ranged from no thanks to pretty decent. Over all nothing was bad but nothing was all that impressive either. I believe that 2 or possibly 3 of the 9 beers were seasonals.

What I did get out of the place (aside from 9 new ticks) was directions to a place called Brennans that has a ton of cheese and beer singles. I figured since I’m in Wisconsin I have to do some cheese tasting in addition to beer tasting.“

“Visited midday on a Tuesday and this cavernous, highway-side place was understandably pretty empty. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. We ordered some wings and they were promptly served and quite good. The beers were hit and miss. Worth a visit to find the hits. (Brewery #603)“

“Stopped in here last time I was in town. Seems like a local joint overall, nice vibe, though in a shopping area. Staff was nice enough, the sampler is a good deal. Beer is average to pretty decent overall. Food was nice, had the wings but the pretzels seemed frozen and reheated.“

“Overall impression of the beers in general: each has a very distinctive single characteristic and then nothing else. Slightly above average beers, none were bad. Nice surroundings and service. Decent food.“

“The beers are above average. The staff is quite friendly, however our waitress was not real beer savy. It’s a good place for kids as they have a kids menu. The food was really quite good. I had the Blue Burger that was quite nice.“

“Stopped by after work one day. Ambiance is a combination sports bar/restaurant with a large central bar and tvs. Service was a bit slow but nothing to complain about. 8 beers on tap plus a few macro bottles. I didn’t try the food on my visit. Prices seemed a bit high. Nothing particularly special.“

“Was here May/June 2011 with a few co-workers. Sat near the brewing kettles and wood/stone oven, so it was a little warm. There were a handful of beers available and I remember having an impy stout and a porter which were decent, but not spectacular. Not a bad joint considering that you are not going to find much that far outside the city.“

“Went here for dinner and brews. Big open place that is fairly clean. Service was mediocre at best. Decent selection of beers but nothing too amazing, although I really liked the Hopfenstange Pils. Food was pretty good, a few items not typical to brewpubs. Value seemed decent. This is a pretty good place, if you find yourself in the area it might be worth a stop.“

“Beers are kind of hit or miss and definitely on the lighter side of the palate, even for "big beers." At least there is some rotation seasonally. I’ve had great food here and not so great food. Service is generally good. Fairly unique feel.“

“Cool, wooden building with exposed beams. Brewery memorabilia around. Good service. Decent selection of 9 house brews and a few macros. Had only German-style food, including soft pretzels (just Super Pretzels) with a nice mustard, local sausages and wursts. Spatzel was awful. Fries were bad too. Pretty darn cheap. I would go back.“

“Typical wood dominated brewpub with a lodge like feel. Big horseshoe bar with a huge glass window above that lets some natural light in which is nice. Friendly service but beer was just okay. Food was decent pub grub. Right off the expressway so worth a stop. Service was friendly and attentive.“

“Kind of a cheesy corporate feeling place with a big two level space and a large u-shaped bar. Brewing equipment dominates the center of the room. Friday fish fry was average, and regular menu looked uninspired. Beer was not bad, but overall just seems like an average place.“

“There’s nothing wrong with the atmosphere here but it’s not exactly the type of place a rocker like me would want to hang out. There was a wonderful bourbon barrel barley wine on tap. My sausage plate was good but not mind blowing. The server did his job. Worth stopping through.“

“I decided to stop in here because it was right off the interstate, and I was traveling between Madison and Milwaukee - honestly, though, even if I were making the trip again, I would probably not go back - the place was nice enough - large interior space, but it still feels homey inside - servers were semi-attentive and friendly - the food was mediocre at best (although I was in at lunch - maybe dinner is better?) - there were only 5 beers on tap at the time, so even though I bought a sampler that was supposed to come with 6 house-brewed beers, they had to give me 5 and slip a sample of Beamish Stout in there to even it out - lame - the beers were mostly dumbed-down session ales geared toward the beer-ignorant, upper-middle-class folks of Delafield - their board made it seem like they had some exciting new beers coming up soon (BA barleywine, batch 500), but on my visit, I was wishing for something interesting - meh.“

“Big building on top of a hill right off I-94 that I’d passed many times and never stopped in. Very spacious indoor with a nice collection of old beer signs and serving tins along with some old cans and bottles too. The food we had (cheese bread) and saw looked/tasted excellent, so another trip back for a meal will be in the works. There were enough decent beers mixed among mediocre choices from the brewpub and of course macros galore for those not into experimenting. There were plenty of TVs throughout both big and small screen so it would be a decent place to watch a game. There was smoking around the bar, but I really didn’t notice the smoke at all.“

“Got done with training in Brookfield early so decided to stop on by. The inside is rather cool...it’s large with the brewing equipment right in the middle for people to see. I often wonder if they brew during business hours and how distracting it could be. Service was all right. I was a bit surprised that they couldn’t start a tab for me, instead they kept feeding me receipts after every beer, even though I offered to give them my card. I’m not against smoking but I was at the bar and happened to sit between a fat man smoking a cigar he found in Castro’s ass, and 2 Detroit construction workers that still go to High School drinking parties. The food selection isn’t that great......I would have preferred more pub food, and less variety of salads. I got a burger and it was all right, the bun was a bit doughy and I left the place regretting I ate it. It obviously seems more catered to the family run by the father that feels good about drinking something different. The beers are average, if that.“

“I’ve been here several times, mostly for convenience.. as I don’t live far from there. Like downtown, I enjoyed the breweriana decor, and the wooden beams gave a cool feel to the place. The food is quite good, and service is usually attentive and knowledgable. The beers are below-average brewpub fare, but there should be something to quench your thirst. Prices are reasonable.“

“The Delafield Brewhaus is nice and convenient for me, so I’ve been there many a time. It’s a rather large restaurant with a comfortable bar area, a big enough dining room, and a large upstairs area that works great for private parties. The food is good with a nice variety. Service is usually very good. The beers are slightly above average, with a few seasonal great ones mixed in. They do a helluva job with Maifest and Oktoberfest, and occasionally have music. Fun times!“

“Have been here a few times with good results each time. The ambiance is pretty normal brewpub stuff, but the massive beer can collection was very impressive. Service has always been pleasant with a decent selection of most major styles. The food has always been very good, and reasonably priced. An overall good place to have a slightly above average beer.“

“Been here a bunch of times. Clear growlers with beer are usually pretty expensive. The food is fairly decent for what it is. Kind of an upscale Applebee’s kind of selection. A decent stop on the way to/from Madison/Milwaukee. (But I’d rather stop at Tyranena if it’s open)“

“Good little place. They had about 8 beers on tap. The ones I had were all good. I think I liked their Delafield Amber the best. They had an I.P.A. that I think was an Imperial I.P.A. and it was powerful (and tasty). The food came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Well worth the trip.“

“Very good selection of own beers on tap. The Pewaukee Porter was exceptional. Good service from bartender interested in talking beer. Decent food for its price, especially considering the cost to drink/eat at some brewpubs in the area. Nothing outstanding, but overall a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon in March.“

“This is a semi-regular lunch and evening get-together for light-weight corporate lunches dinners. The sampling for this past visit was the 11.5% Imperial Stout, a well done and worthy brew and a nicely hopped Pale Ale. Attitudes and service are always acceptable to good. I haven’t been in the area all that long, but I’d have to say I’ve enjoyed the beers here as much or more than those of the Brewhaus across the highway.“

“Decent spread of beers, sampled 3. Sat near the bar and at the bar next to a smoker. Ventilation was very good, but this still is unattractive to me. Decent spread of bar food, appetizer sampler was greasy and huge and thin crust pizza big yet good. So much for the cholesterol. Bartenders were attentive and humored me with a sampler of the barleywine before I left - bonus points for service. Hard to get too excited about the beers I have tried on a coouple of visits but I rarely fail to be pleased by the nice equipment and pleasure of drinking in a brewpub.“

“Visited in October 2005
This place would most likley be the stlye of place you would find in Northern Wi. Wooden decor all around the place. A giant log cabin. We were just there for the beer sampler. Place wasn’t that busy and bartender was helpful if you had questions. Had 9 beers on tap and I only rated 3 of them under a three rating. Had stopped in this place in 2003 and had a decent burger after the flight from Az to Wi with my brother. Overall not a bad place if you want a good beer and need something to eat.“

“Visited in October 2005
Arrived just before the lunch rush. Big spacious place. Pretty much come as you are. Some business men in for lunch, some women looked like they were celebrating a birthday, and us with a couple of family members in search of beer sampler platers for me. Waitress was friendly and got our food right and was there if you needed something. Ordered the sample plater of beers that contained six. 9 beers were on tap at time. So after my six were rated asked waitres for the other three. Menu stated samples were 1.50 each. She came back and said the brewer will not charge me for the extra three, cool. Got a 5th Aniversary pint glass also to bring back to AZ. Good place will have to revisit this place if visiting in Wisconsin again.“

“This place is hit and miss for me. The interior is very typical of modern brewpubs, airy and huge. The food is good enough - works well for where yer at. I’ve had some fine biggies here and some really run-of-the-mill standards as well. The selection is always large enough to find a good one. Never left saying "What a great Place!" I’d just as soon drive on to the Great Dane in Madison.“

“Huh... I didn’t rate this place yet. This is a nice, "up scale" brewpub. A little too family of an atmosphere for me on a weekend dinner visit, but their beers are pretty good, and occaisionally they have an exceptional surprise (Imperial IPA and Imperial Stout were both fantastic). Fun to make an occaisional trip when I see something I haven’t tried listed on their site.“

“I, too, think that the downtown location on Water is a little better, but I like the ambiance in Delafield. The food is okay (the scotch egg is addicting), but the beer is not up to the standards of its rival establishment, the Brewhaus.“
