“Part of a strip mall, so plenty of easy free parking. Good size bottle shop. Nice quantity of beers on metals stands. Good quality beers and mead. Service is about as good as it gets. No problem breaking up four-packs/six-packs. I ended up with about a six-pack. A good bottle shop for Columbus.“

“In a strip mall and a bit hard to find if you aren't looking for it. The sign is in blue and blends in. My brother took me here otherwise I'd have not every gone. Store is dedicated to beer and very spacious. Somewhat laid out by style with all recent releases and new shipments up front. Lots of sunlight gets in but stuff seems to move quickly so not a big deal. Guy working was very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to break any six packs for singles. Nice selection of locals and a few other things. I would say it's a tie between this place and Savor Growl for best beer store in Columbus.“

“Easy free dedicated parking. Nice newer sports bar/restaurant with a fair amount of big screen TVs. Service was average. Good selection and quantity of local/regional beers on tap. The best thing about this place is that you can order samples (5 oz. I believe) of as few or up to five at a time. Pricing was good, $2 for each sample I had. Lots of ticks can be had here. Not busy during my a Friday afternoon visit.“

“Stopped in on a late Monday afternoon. Plenty of parking available. All the beer is l the way to the left in the middle of the store. They had probably 100 different beers to choose from, including their store specific brands. I didn’t end up buying anything, but maybe I will next time around.“

“Despite the name, this place definitely has the vibe of a restaurant first and foremost. It’s a nice restaurant at that, one might even say fancy, but on a Wednesday night, it had a bit of a busy and cramped feeling. I’m not sure how new this place is (I was just passing through town) but it had the vibe of "the trendy new place." Once you get beyond that, The bartenders were total beer nerds and provided good beer conversation when they weren’t too busy running around, you know, tending the bar. The selection was well above average, with a healthy mix of local and national, common, uncommon, and rate beers. The food was tasty (although it didn’t necessarily agree with me a bit later - nothing terrible, just indigestion), and the prices of everything seemed reasonable ... for city prices. Worth a visit, and definitely a place you can take non-beerites to have a pleasant meal.“

“Nice place. Lots of big flat-screen TVs. I think I watched USA lose to Germany in the 2014 World Cup. I watched USA lose to someone, anyhow. The place is well-put-together. The draft list is large and full of quality American craft beer. The service was great - friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. There were healthy, low-fat choices as well as gourmet burgers and such. I have nothing negative to say about the place. I will go back if I ever visit Columbus again.“

“Interesting place. We went for dinner on a Friday night - early enough not to wait, but there was a decent queue pretty quickly. Sat at a table top in the bar section when we were informed that happy hour only applied in that area. Beer list was good mix of locals and typical craft. We’re starved for sours, so we didn’t do anything other than 1/2 priced La Folie. The food was good - the missus liked her burger, my walleye was ok. I’m kicking myself for not getting the lobster mac and cheese though. Not sure how often I’ll be up this way, but I’d visit again.“

“The newest Dewey’s location in the Columbus area is located in Dublin on Perimeter Drive off Avery-Muirfield. There is a parking lot in front of the building.

The inside is relatively small, with the entry leading to a short corridor that wraps around and opens to the bar. Beyond that are tables and booths.

There are 8 beers on tap including Ohio breweries like Columbus Brewing and Four String and Mt. Carmel, plus other domestic craft brewers like North Coast, Bells and Left Hand. In addition there are around 12 bottles options.

Service on a weekday lunch was pretty good. The server was attentive until toward the end of the meal when they started getting busier.

Pizza at Dewey’s is always good. They have specialty and build-your-own pizzas and they are enjoyable

Overall this is not a destination based on the beer selection alone, but a worthwhile spot for good pizza and a few solid beer options.“

“Been to DVT many times over the years. It is located in downtown Dublin at the intersection of High Street and 161. Parking is available in a lot behind the building and on the street in front, and both can be difficult to find at peak times.

There is a small patio in front, and stairs leading up to the building which was built in the late 1800s. The interior has a homey tavern feel, with wooden floors and tables and brick walls. The bar is in the rear, and there is table seating in the bar area and in an adjoining room.

The beer selection consists of around 8 taps with many being typical Irish pub fare like Guinness and Smithwicks, but they do feature some craft breweries like Great Lakes, Stone and Columbus Brewing. As for bottles there are over 20 again with many typical options plus breweries like Rogue, Breckenridge, Columbus Brewing, Bells and Great Lakes.

Service on my visits has been consistently good. No beer experts but they are always friendly and efficient.

As for the food, there are many traditional specialties like Scotch Eggs and Fish and Chips, but my favorites tend to be the appetizers, especially the Pretzel Bread which comes with a queso sauce and is delicious.

Overall not a beer destination but they always have something worthwhile, and the food and setting make it a good spot to visit in Dublin.“

“Visited for happy hour and then dinner on a random tuesday. Lots of local crafts. I had a Fat Heads, Jackie-Os Oil Of Aphrodite and K had a Hoof Hearted Wängbär and Ithaca Flower Power. The food was ok - typical pub fare. The service was very nice, but didn’t really talk beer with anyone. Good overall. They did dollar samples and had growler fills as well.“

“Had dinner here and, while it’s not a big craft brew destination, it is a nice little irish pub / restaurant. The food was good and everything was reasonably priced (think we may have gotten in on some happy hour deals). TV’s with sports on every few feet. The taps were mostly standard irish pub macros, but they did have a few crafts. I had Jackie-Os Mystic Mama IPA. Nothing crazy - relaxed setup, enjoyed it.“

“This may be my new favorite place to drink/dine in Dublin. HUGE beer selection. Half price happy hour. Had a drink at the bar before being seated and bartenders were extremely attentive. Gorgeous taps behind the bar. Food menu is small but a very nice variety. I prefer this type of menu over one that is 12 pages of everything you can imagine. When our dinners came the food was amazing, and well priced. My wife had the bistro steak and it may be one of the best steaks she’s ever had. The lobster macaroni and cheese was wonderful and full of lobster for only $15.99. Our server was very attentive, fun and knew the menu/beers very well. Decor is rustic, yet elegant. The beer menu is long and varied, would maybe like to see a bit more description with each offering, and that’s really my only criticism. I love that they feature local beers and locally sourced food.“

“This Kroger just did some major reorganizing in the store. Updated the beer and wine section. Quite nice. Big selection of your basic macro beers but plenty of craft beers as well. There’s a very nice ’build your own sampler’ cooler which seems to have a good rotation of product. Always something new to try. Not much customer service to speak of. I have yet to be approached by anyone to ask if I need any help, but that’s ok. Sometimes it’s good to just do my own searching. Prices are about what you would expect at a grocery...they do have some pretty good sales from time to time.“

“Large selection of beers on tap to chose from. Each time I have been here the place was fairly crowded. Staff is very friendly and were response to our needs. There was uncertainty between the staff as to what was in the Kobi burgers. Some said 100% Kobi, others said 50/50. Well if it is Kobi, they killed it by overcooking it. You don’t take great meat and prepare it badly. Might as well have provided ground chuck.“

“Had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. Sat in the eating area, which was one big open room. This is seperated from the bar by a half wall with bar tables on the other side. The bar area has ample space with a patio off the back. 101 beers on tap, which is updated daily on the menu which is nice (the menu is a print off). The selection is grouped by style, with the specials (seasonals) on top of the menu. Food was good, with burgers being the main fare. I had sweet potato fries, and they were excellent. Prices were a little high...but overall an enjoyable experience with good service. Will be back.“

“I think this place is going to get better and am looking to go back. I need to preface this by saying that. Great beer selection, food was a little pricy, I came with my wife and daughter during a slow Sunday, I had 2 drafts under 8 bucks and we had a soup and 1 appetizer and 2 personal pizzas and still spent around $75 after tip. The Chef is good and is trying some new things and I think he will definitely make the right adjustments. A lot of great craft beer, unfortunately, they were out of a lot of stuff and the server knowledge needs a touch up. They had trouble giving me a recommendation on several beers, on a side note a friend of mine went there and ordered an IPA and they were out of it. The server tried to tell my buddy to order a Pranqster as it is an IPA. He said no thank you then called me immedietely to tell me the server at 101 Beer Kitchen thought a Belgian Golden Ale was the same as an IPA. Food was solid but still seems like the Cef is trying to get into his groove. I hope he does. I will be back just not in a hurry.“

“I was really excited to go to The Pint Room but unfortunately left disappointed. The burgers which I had heard good things about, was underwhelming. I had the BBQ Burger which the server asked if I wanted Medium which I did came out more than well done. Now I don’t know if the burger was so small because it was overdone or if it just is always that size. Then I asked for a side of hashbrowns as they have a burger with hashbrowns on it. I was told that they are premade strictly for the hangover burger and that I could not add hashbrowns to my burger. Weird. Not as weird as no salt and pepper on the tables. I get it for an upscale or fine dining restaurant but for a beer restaurant? My fries with the burger and strange Bistro Fries needed salt. All of this seems like growing pains of a new restaurant and for the most part is pretty forgiveable. They failed big time only once, which makes me question wheter I will give it another try. I had A delcious Fat Heads Head Hunter and wanted to finish my meal with my favorite Founder’s Breakfast Stout and I knew before she set the beer down (because of the color of the head) it was an imposter. I am pretty sure it was the Espresso Oak Aged Yeti another good beer but not my Founder’s Breakfast Stout. When I told the server she said she rang it in right and that she would correct it for me. I told her not to worry about it as it was the end of meal already. I did not take more than 2 sips (I am not exaggerating only 2 sips) and I was still charged for it. Oh well. They have a nice selection but nothing real special I think because 100 taps is too much. Maybe I will be back sometime if I am in the neighborhood. Otherwise I will go to my local haunts one of which is my favorite“

The Pint Room (Restaurant)
4415 W DUBLIN GRANVILLE RD
“(Visited 01/2013): The Pint Room is located in a plaza on the corner of 161 and Riverside. Parking is plentiful.

Accessible by multiple entrances, the inside features a table and booth seating area and a bar in the rear. An eye-catching wall lists the beers in segmented chalkboard squares. TVs aroung the bar area as well.

Pint Room boasts an impressive 100 beers on draught. Ohio is represented fairly well (it has its own section on the beer menu) with brewers like Thirsty Dog, Columbus Brewing, Lagerheads, Mt. Carmel, Hoppin’ Frog, Four String and Brew Kettle. Other craft brewers such as Sixpoint, Revolution, Avery, Oskar Blues and Dark Horse are represented as well.

Service on a busy weekday evening was good. Our server was well-versed in the beers and prompt. Only knock against the service is the frustrating insistence on using a digital device to put in our orders which of course was not working well. Just use pen and paper, people!

Food at Pint Room is solid. I got the PBB&J burger and enjoyed it quite a bit.

All in all Dublin has stepped up the beer scene incredibly in the last year between 101 Beer Kitchen and Pint Room. This place is well worth a visit for beer lovers.“

“Pretty cool place. Quite busy, but it was a Friday, so to be expected. Loud as hell, carrying on a conversation was difficult. Need to put some kind of sound deadening up on the ceiling. Crap ton of taps, with a strong line up. Nothing super rare, but plenty of solid choices. Focused on midwest breweries the day I was there. One positive note, they offer multiple sized growlers of pretty much everything on tap. Food was pretty good, not great. We both had burgers, which were cooked as ordered. A bit $$$, for $12 burger I’m expecting a larger patty of meat, but tasty none the less. Service was attentive. Will go back.“

“(Visited 12/2012): 101 Beer Kitchen occupies a space in a strip mall on Sawmill and Hard Road formerly taken by a BBQ place. There is ample parking in the plaza.

The inside is segmented by a couple restaurant seating areas and a bar area in the center. Stone and wood motif, and there is a fireplace in the bar. There is a large chalkboard behind the bar listing what beers they have on draught. Growlers are used as water pitchers which is a nice touch.

There are over 20 draught selections with some choice offerings from the likes of Stone, Fat Heads, Two Brothers, Hoppin’ Frog, Green Flash and Bells. Bottles number close to 100. They do tap takeovers and tapping events as well.

Service on my first visit was top notch. They had only been open a couple months but after talking beer with our server she sent over the bar manager who outlined their long term plans which includes brewing their own beer in the future. The staff clearly cares about craft beer and promoting it in Dublin, which is sorely needed. 101 Beer Kitchen’s menu highlights their rustic made-from-scratch philosophy. My colleagues and I had a variety of appetizers (pretzel, perogis, and tater tots) which were all very good.

Overall this is a great beer spot by any measure, and it really stands out in Dublin. I will definitely be visiting here frequently.“

“This is another BJ’s. The building is very modern with a chain/corporate feel to it. It has a full bar with several of their own beers on tap plus a big list of guess taps. The beers I had were typical and technically fine. The food menu was extensive and my meal was very nice. The service at the bar was quick, but the servers were definitely trained to up-sell. For a chain restaurant with a brew pub theme it doesn’t suck, but it has all the personalitly of an Appleby’s or any other chain theme place.“

“I guess this is cross between a sports bar and Irish pub of sorts. Nice men with flatbreads, steaks, burgers, and appetizers. Went with a large group and everybody enjoyed their food. “Stopped in for dinner with a couple of coworker. Has kind of an upscale feel to it and is much more of a restaurant than a beer bar. Nice decor with lots of wood. Service was very attentive as well. Really like there menu which has burgers, sandwiches, some nice apps and a few tasty looking entrees. Had the salmon burger which was tasty. 20 or so taps with some nice finds like a Boris one-off and a Finch tap which was nice to see outside of Chicago. Good place to go with date or family too.“

“Visited for dinner on a Tuesday. Narrow restaurant tucked away in an upscale strip mall. The layout of the restaurant is about half long bar, half booths. There are also several tables outside, which is where I sat. The draft list was solid (14 beers), though certainly not mind blowing. I would say this is not beer focused, but they certainly did take time to put on several solid beers (I drank Founders all Day IPA). The food was fresh and tasty, I had a pizza. Overall, good option for dinner on that side of town.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

Giant Eagle - Dublin (Grocery Store)
4747 SAWMILL RD.
“(Visited 07/2010): This Giant Eagle is located on Sawmill and Bethel. There is a large parking lot. The beer is located toward the center of the store and much of it is in coolers. In keeping with what seems to be a trend at many of the chain grocers these days, there is pretty much an entire aisle for beer, much of it craft beer. As for what is available, brewers like Rogue, Southern Tier, Sierra Nevada, Thirsty Dog, Great Lakes, BBC, Buckeye, Stone, DFH and many others are represented domestically. There are several imports from Canada, Germany and the UK as well, plus a couple Belgians. Service is standard for a grocery store, in other words don’t expect any beer experts. The staff is friendly though. Overall this is a decent stop for the immediate vicinity. Kenny Road Market of course has a better mix of craft beers but the selection is pretty good for a craft beer lover.“

“(Visited 02/2009 and several times since): Matt The Miller’s is a relatively new restaurant in Dublin. It is off Avery-Muirfield and shares a lot with some other businesses in the plaza. The interior is nicely decorated with a muted and neutral color scheme and soft lighting. The bar is up a couple of stairs on the left side of the establishment, separated partially from the seating area on the right. The bar features around 14 taps with a few craft beers from brewers like Bell’s, Lagunitas, DFH, CBC, Great Lakes and Rogue domestically, and the standard Fuller’s/Harp type stuff for imports. As for bottles there are around 50 from Bell’s, Brooklyn, Great Lakes, CBC and others. Again the imports are mostly standard choices like Chimay, Murphy’s and the like. Duvel is kind of a stand out there though. Service on a weekday afternoon was pretty good. The server was able to make food and beer recommendations effectively. The food at MTM is upscale tavern fare. I tried "Matt’s Burger" and it was pretty good. Overall this place is a pretty good spot to visit for a decent selection of beers, at least by Dublin standards.“

70 /100 65 W. BRIDGE STREET
“(Visited 11/2008): Finally visited the Dublin location for lunch this week. La Chatelaine is on Bridge Street (161) in downtown Dublin. There is some street parking as well as a small private lot in back but parking is scarce during meal times. The restaurant has a small patio near the entrance, and the inside is mostly table seating past the counter where lunch/artisan bread is sold. There is a small bar tucked away in the center of the building. As with the Worthington location, this bar has a small but well-thought out selection of beers. They only have 6 taps but aside from Stella they have some real gems from Abbaye des Rocs and St. Bernardus. As for bottles, there are around 15 options mostly on the import side from Chimay, Orval, Lindemann’s etc. They have a nice collection of glassware behind the bar as well. Service during lunch is not really an accurate representation of how it is at the bar or at dinner, as it is pretty much à la carte (that is french for a la carte). However everyone was very friendly. The food at La Chatelaine is French obviously, which some people like and some don’t. However they do have basic ham/cheese sandwiches, salads etc for those who don’t want to try something too out there. Plus, their homemade bread is great. Overall I am happy to have this newer location where I work, as the low key bar with great beers is right up my alley. Definitely worth a stop in the Dublin area.“

Trader Joe’s - Dublin (Grocery Store)
6355 SAWMILL RD.
“(Visited 08/2007): One of two (so far) Trader Joe’s in the Columbus area, this location is found at the busy Sawmill/161 intersection in Dublin. There is a shared parking lot in front of the store that always has enough spots. While a chain, Trader Joe’s maintains the mom ’n’ pop feel of a smaller grocer that specializes in organic and higher-quality foods (at a premium price of course). The beer and wine selection is in the left rear of the store, with some featured beers on end caps here and there. The whole store is clean and well-maintained and that definitely spills over to the beer area. TJ’s features several of their own beers, along with brews from recognizable brewers like North Coast, Rogue, Flying Dog, Sierra Nevada, Chimay etc. Not too much of a regional or international presence but there are a couple beers from around the world to be found. They also have singles stickered at a reasonable price (especially the TJ-branded beers). Service here is about what you would expect from a grocery store. All in all this Trader Joe’s suffers from nearby competition in the beer area (Anderson’s, Whole Foods, Wine Vault) more than the other location at Easton, but it is still a worthwhile stop while visiting Dublin.“

“A nice store with a decent selection for Central Ohio. They have 2 end caps one with mostly Belgians in big bottles and the other with some American Micros and more common Imports. There is a row of 6 packs from the world and from American brewers like Bert Grant, Great Divide and others. “This World market is similar to any other one I have been to. It is in the Tuttle Mall area of Dublin/Hilliard. It is in a large strip mall near Best Buy, Wal-Mart etc so parking is plentiful.

World Market is a great store. It is like Pier 1 but with alcohol. They have a selection of wines and beers from all over the world. The best thing is their &quo;beer endcap&quo;, which allows to to mix and match single bottles from pretty much any of the 6-packs they carry. What a wonderful way to sample beers!

You can also find some Belgian brews like Corsendonk in larger bottles. Regionals like Great Lakes are usually in stock as well. All in all, this is a one-stop place to try 50+ beers without having to buy more than one bottle at a time. While you’re there, you can get a chair from Japan and some placemats from India.

The service here is decent. You can usually find someone in the beer/wine section of the store who knows what they are talking about.“

“Located in Dublin, Rusty Bucket has the end of a shopping plaza off Avery Rd. Parking is not really a problem unless it is around the Memorial Tournament or some other Dublin community event.

The bar is located in the center of the restaurant seating area. The interior is fairly classy, with a lot of brick and wood. There is a lot of beer paraphernalia on the walls but not too much neon thankfully. There is a little bit of a sports theme as well.

The beer selection is pretty good. The menu (including the take-out menu) is divided by country, and has a list of US micros as well. Highlights include Chimay, Sam Smith, Old Peculiar, Great Lakes, and Three Floyds. The draught selection is not very impressive though.

The food is good as well. The selection consists mainly of wings, salads and sanwiches. They have an $8 macaroni ’n cheese plate that looks really good, and a meatloaf melt sandwich that is pretty tasty.

All in all, Dublin doesn’t have too many bars of this nature so it is worth stopping by if you are in the area.“
