“We (me, Loz, Jude and Baz) visited here on Saturday 12th September 2015. I had (I believe) been here before, however that would have been in the dim and distant past, probably 25 years ago, (god that seems a lifetime ago) when I lived in Worcester and was a member of Worcester CAMRA and organised trips to here, Uley, Wickwar etc. I have to confess. I couldn’t really remember the place, which kind of suggests I may not of been here, though I still think I have. It is a pleasant enough place from the outside, predominantly white in colour as I recall. It is situated at the foot of a steep looking hill (there are lots of those around here) near the bus station in Dursley and just a few minutes walk from the main pedestrianised shopping drag in this small town. It is quite a good sized place, wooden floors, brewerania scattered about and at 13:30 on a Saturday afternoon clearly very popular. We sat right by the bar for an hour or two before venturing outside to take in some late summer sunshine. The beer choice was pretty good with Downton, Thornbridge, Wickwar, Uley and others amongst the choices, all were in exceptional condition. The staff were pretty busy most of the time but were friendly and helpful and kept your wait at the bar to a bare minimum. We loved it here and must have spent a good 3 - 4 hours whiling away the time just drinking and chatting, it really is a great pub. I didn’t venture much but as you enter the bar is straight ahead there are rooms off to your left and right and the garden can be accesed by heading off to the left, the garden is laid to slabs and part sheltered.“

“Traditional boozer with 8 real ales. Beer range was not overly extravagant for the area but decent choice nonetheless. Definitely worth a visit in you’re in the area.“

“By far the nicest pub in Dursley! Very well-run pub with welcoming interior and great beer garden at back. Perhaps 8 ales on tap, changing regularly, with focus on West Country. Never eaten there.“

“I have been to the Old Spot several times and whenever I came back to the Bristol area its one of the 1st pubs I head for. Reminds me of what old pubs used to be like, great atmosphere with no TV or loud music. Always enough hand pulled beers to choose from and the food is first class!!“

“Multi-award winning pub, which won the CAMRA National Pub of the year in February 2008. The Old Spot is well-placed for walkers on the Cotswold Way. Has a good selection of real ales including ones from Uley (Old Ric is brewed specially for this pub), Butcombe and Severn Vale and frequently changing guest beers. The food is very good value and the atmosphere friendly. A great place to visit.“
