62 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Visited marc 2023. Nice to be able to try some decent beers at the airport, just a shame it is so expensive. Pleasant enough airport bar, very nice barpeople. |
68 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Located in the middle of the isle, open layout, no walls, wood, still some fixtures going for a BrewDog bar look. Food available, not cheap but not that bad for an airport either. 15 taps still with standards of their, Weihenstephaner, cider. One could do worse in an airport for sure. |
60 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Quite large, close to the BrewDog bar which bit more interesting probably. Carpet, old stools and bit sticky. More macro cask and kegs, prices are acceptable as elsewhere in airport. You could do worse in an airport. |
44 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Visited August 2023.
It´s always nice a last cask ale before the flight.
Next one please! |
72 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Small bar inside Edinburgh Airport with a good selection of BrewDog beers. |
72 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Excellent place at the airport
Good beer selection
|
50 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Big pub at Gate 10-ish, many taps and hand pulls but nothing interesting found one new one one that was rubbish. Dirty bar and tables vs old sticky beer traces. Food locks stabby but OK vs Burgers and other. I would go for a British Breakfast if served in the evening;) |
74 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Located before Gate 13, skip the Wetherspoon and had here instead. Nice a friendly staff had some tasters before going for a Limfjords replica. Nice seating 10 + on tap, didn't check the cans etc. |
70 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Came here on 15.11.2022. This Brewdog bar opened in spring 2022 and is located between the gates 12 and 16 at Edinburgh airport. Small bar with 14 beers on tap. I had a ‘Drop the NEIPA’ brewed in their Nice location, which was quite unique. Of course they also have their flagship beers like Punk and Hazy Jane. Edinburgh airport has a great density of good beer bars and Brewdog is a fantastic addition. |
68 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT A typical Brewdog, smaller selection than a standard town place but beats going to Spoons. |
56 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Visited a couple of times. |
72 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Nice to find decent beer available at a UK airport. Brewdog may not be everyone's cup of tea but it sure beats very average Spoons fare. |
62 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Airside Spoons, there's one in every airport, right? Nothing much to recommend it but always popular. Couple of cask ticks snaffled, quality was OK |
62 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT Small place in the center of the airport. Had nice selection, friendly staff and fair prices for airport. |
56 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT great beer while you wait for your flight at edinbrurgh airport good selection of beers for the size of it food was alright aswell airport prices |
66 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT BrewDog's first move into the airport scene, which was long overdue. This outpost is located air-side and is probably their smallest bar in terms of footprint and capacity. It is an island set-up with the kitchen located elsewhere. They have 14 taps and a pretty small selection of bottles / cans. Only a couple of guests beers and no new beers for me on my first visit. Friendly and chatty staff. We had brunch and a couple of classic beers. Wouldn't stand up to many of the other BD bars, but is a great addition to the UK airport bar scene, which is usually a bit crap. |
72 /100 EDINBURGH AIRPORT What a relief to find a half-decent bar at an airport when you have a 4.5 hour delay. Suits their motto, 'pray for delay'. Nice small out-in-the-open venue, looks cleaner and more organized than their typical bars, more wood. Small bar with some high tables and booths. Quite a standard selection of draughts, lots of BrewDog lagers on tap, but they stocked a few nice guest cans (e.g. Cloudwater) /bottles, pub food available too. Friendly and efficient personnel. Kids were allowed, which was great considering the delay. Prices are airport prices but still manageable. |
56 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Standard Wetherspoon place located airside of Edinburgh airport. Always good to see some Cask ticks when waiting for your airplane! |
62 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Big open plan place, not much of an ambiance, suprisingly interesting, choices, suprisingly fair. prices. Ok for a pint before your flight. |
58 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Visited on 16th September 2018. Large open plan airside Spoons. Tried to recreate a trad pub feel and haven't done it too badly. Just a proliferation of wheelie cases gives it away. 5 sticks, a Nottingham and 2 Stewart beers on show. 1 of Stewart beers not on. Sigh. Quality of beer ok, £4.15 a pint. Reasonable bottle and can selection. Its ok and at least you might grab a tick here. |
54 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Ok, by 'Spoons standards it's far from their best pub. But then again it's not their worst either. Despite being busy, we found a spare table at the back, and once seated it was quite relaxed and quiet compared to the hubbub on the concourse outside. They've made some effort to recreate the bookshelves-and-alcoves look of their real pubs, and if you look in the right direction you can almost convince yourself you're not in an airport. The beer range is not too bad - there's five rather unexciting casks beers (but hey, five different cask beers in an airport bar?!), but the bottle range seemed pretty decent, with several Scottish brewer's that (as a Sassenach) I'd not tried before, for instance Six Degrees North and Drygate. Unfortunately the prices are pure airport, about 50% than higher than in their high street pubs (but as this is Wetherspoons, this just brought the prices up to what is charged in the other high street chain pubs). It's worth noting that unlike their non-airport pubs, you don't get a free drink with your meal. Service was speedy enough but not overly friendly (but I guess I'd struggle to maintain a smile having worked in an airport all day). All in all, it's better than it's got any right to be, and it's certainly the most pleasant place to pass the test in Edinburgh airport. |
56 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Post-security airport spoons, too much of an open area to really get comfortable. However, four handpumps plus their usual keg/bottle range is better than anything we get around these parts, so I’m not complaining. Serve pints early as well. Prices are rather steep, as one would expect. Good for a few farewell for now drinks. |
52 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT (Visited Monday 22/02/2016 – morning) Typical airport JDW so prices are more expensive than normal for both beer and food – which was typical spoon based fare, so some casks and the craft bottle/can selection. Pretty slow service (looked like they were training new staff) overall okish place to kill time before your flight |
56 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Nice decent Spoon pub inside the departure area at the airport.
Decent food and an ok beer selection.
Also close to the toilets!
Can be a bit noisy. But there are nowhere else to go...... |
42 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Not great even by spoons standards. Low number of taps and incredibly expensive for the adequate quality of the food. Generally heaving. |
60 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Visited a couple of times. Traditionel JDW, beers and menu are the typical JDW menu. This place is a bit noisy and busy, and I would say a traditionel airport pub, where people are just killing time untill their fligth.. |
62 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Decent enough for an airport bar. Quality of the cask seems to generally far outshine the neighbouring Turnhouse. |
62 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT 5 casks. Cheap and good for an airport bar. Expensive for a JDW bar and not that glorious for a bar. But since airport bars tend to be boring and the beer selection tends to be even more boring this is quite nice exception. |
52 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT It’s a typical JD Wetherspoon pub. There’s a good choice of beer, the prices are better than average but do they know how to keep cask beer - not always sure. Had one nice pint and one so-so one. |
56 /100 Sir Walter Scott (JDW) (Bar) UNIT C170 AIRSIDE, EDINBURGH AIRPORT Fairly standard Airside JDW bar. Expensive & busy but as it is the only place you can get Caledonian Sir Walter Scott Ale, it is worth a visit. |
