“They have 10 taps of Austri, Muli and a single guest on at my visit. The flights now contain six beers at around 4000 ISK. They also have a fridge with beers to go, where I found an additional six beers of their own, which were not on tap. They beers are pretty good, although generally a bit dull. Good service. I didn’t try the pizzas. The music was good, but way too loud.“

“Having been to four different some Vinbuðins including two really small ones it’s safe to say that this is above average for sure. They all have a big selection of pale lagers, but this one also had two sections of micro, which was way more than those two. The micros included two bottles from local Muri/Austri. I walked away with around 15 new micro ticks, which was more than expected having been around half the island already.“

“Modern café held in black and white. Benches outside. Close to Vinbudin. Only two beers on tap, a pilsener and a vienna, no bottled beers. Friendly and quick service. Did not eat. Smoking not allowed. Not a beer place and definately nothing to go for for ratebeerians.“

“Since there's barely any craft beer in this small town, this gets an add. The restaurant is called Glóð, but you have to type in Hotel Valaskjalf into GoogleMaps, as it's the hotel restaurant and bar. Nice, comfortable place with different sections. 7 taps, with 5 on when we visited, 4 of which were craft taps (Einstok and Viking), and 1 macro trash tap. During happy hour, 0.4L pours are 700 ISK, not bad at all in Iceland. Service was cold - typical Icelandic. If you're stuck in Egilsstaðir for the night, and you've already hit Askur Taproom, this isn't a bad stop.“

“Likely the best place in eastern Iceland for craft beers. Open long hours - we visited on a Sunday around dinner time and it was empty. 6 beers on tap, with flights of 4 for 2400 ISK, ridiculous but not unusual pricing for Iceland. Staff were happy to give free samples too. Beer quality was decent, with most being dialed in alright. They also have an adjoining pizzeria, with a couple vegan ones available, which was cool. If you’re in town, this is a must visit, but don’t expect that much.“

“Typical Icelandic Ríki in a small place. Selection OK. Some local beer.“

“A modern taproom/bar in the industrial part of Egilsstadir - looks nice. About 6 taps of various brews. Prices are perhaps just a bit shy of typcial Icealndic prices, flight also available. Was completely empty on the time of my visit, so can't say much about the atmosphere. But probably the best place to quench your craft thirst in this part of the country.“

“Visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Typical state run liquor store, though this version is smaller than the other 2 I have visited. Normal range of beer selection, with all beers available as singles. Had a few beers that were local, which was appreciated.

64 = ** (Just ok)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“
