“Visited July 2019 after spending the day exploring Waimea State Park. The place has exposed wooden beams throughout and was lively during our visit. The beers were solid, mostly, and the food good.“

“Stopped in after a dinner cruise on the Na Pali coast. Unassuming exterior, and the interior is pretty shabby. Bare concrete floors and exposed beams, but not in a purposeful or stylish way. The bartender was friendly and pretty quick. A nice spread of interesting beers, and no guest taps. Fun stop and good beer.“

“In south Kauai, snuggled in a little bumble of touristy shops, boat launches and other places, this is essentially an old school, good ol' American brewpub. The staff was super, super friendly and accommodating. They had roughly 12 beers on tap, including a guest tap. Beers were so-so, but at least different. I didn't eat, but some in my group did and licked their plates clean. Worth a detour. Brewery #868.“

“Popped into this steel warehouse after a 7 hour snorkeling tour run by the people across the block. Located near to an odd local cookie company "museum" & shop. Decorated by a mix a of locals, transients & tourists, the lack of design or decor was not really a concern. Ponied up to the bar, it maybe sits 14, with a scattering of tables behind us. Balcony area was weirdly layer out, but overlooked us at a steep angle. All house beers today, 10 or so, with 3 already tapped out. Nothing too crazy on tap. Bartender was cool, informative & chatty despite being busy. The smoked malt brown was very good, if a touch too bitter. Rye IPA needed more rye, but was dry & on point. Couldn't disern the passion fruit/lilikoi ale from the house flavor. $6 a pint, $4.50 at happy hour. Food was okay. Recommended the local fish with our chips, but came out overcooked & heavy on the taro batter. Pork rolls were so-so, but greasy. Also, they went on happy hour special for half off 5 minutes after we ordered & the staff never said anything. Okay place. Hopefully the other brewery on the island is better.“

“After a slightly rough start I actually enjoyed this place. Doesn't look like much on the outside, big warehouse type building covered on corrugated steel. Inside though has a long wooden traditional bar on the right and lots of restaurant tables, plus more tables on a nice wrap around balcony. A dozen house beers on offer, about evenly split between seasonals and regulars. Flights of four are possible, and server was very generous with samples. Beer was pretty solid with a few that were better than solid. Food was just OK pub food leaning toward fish, but what I had was a bit overcooked with slightly limp fries. Server was friendly and attentive. Music was too loud, that plus large fans (no a/c) made conversation challenging. Brewhouse not visible. Plenty of parking. Worth a visit.“

“Popped in for a quick visit but it didn’t stand out much, to say the least. Pretty forgettable range of beers, Very early 90s, here for the novelty of brewing sort of thing. Good for locals, but otherwise not a destination.“

“In a warehouse in Port Allen Very bare bones, soulless place. Not going to crush it too much for that as most of the area was lacking soul anyway. Beers were very average. Out of captain Cook, so tried the fonz IPA. Not good. Next beer was the lilikoi golden ale, not good either. No guests taps besides a cider. Bartender was helpful and nice. On entrée we had was good. Wine was crap. Lots of souvenirs. Bought one for the novelty value. Reminded me of some of the early 90’s brewpubs that sprouted up in the US in smaller towns. Good for a quick bite when coming back from Waimea canyon and looking at the coast.“

“In a word, generic. The atmosphere is a bare-bones sports bar, big screen TVs abound (a Broncos/Dolphins game was on the whole time I was there, wheeeee). Service was functional although no one knew much about the beer (there was a special lager on and I got conflicting info even just about what the name might be). Generic beer styles across the board...wheat, pale, IPA, amber, brown, porter. And the quality of the four I spent time evaluating were all very mediocre and plain. I guess it’s worth a stop if you just like ticking for ticking’s sake, but you’re not going to find anything remarkable. Food was pretty typical of the island in general...overcooked fish and bland sides.“

“Stopped by on the way back from Waimea Canyon. This warehouse style pub is located on the main drag on the way down to Port Allen, across from the boat tour operators. Started with a sampler of both the IPA’s, the Red, and the Porter, all good beers. They had a special ale on tap, brewed with Taro root, so tried that also. Food was reasonably priced and we split two of the special appetizers which were both excellent. All the staff were helpful and attentive, and the bartender was very knowledgable about the beers. This is a must stop if you are on the Garden Island.“

“Great little spot tucked off the beaten path. Huge menu with good looking food that we didnt get to try, sadly. Beers were good, with a couple that were really good, staff was amazingly friendly, very cool neighbourhood vibe. I’d make an effort to come back here for a meal and more chill time.“

“This place is tucked away and easy to miss. Had to visit since it was the only brewery in Kauai. Inside has a warehouse/industrial feel and is pretty typical brewpub. Food was sort of a mixed bag. Our appetizer was so-so, my wife’s fish was a little bland, but my fish and chips were quite good. Much better selection of beer than I anticipated. I tried several of their house beers, none of which really stand out as extraordinary, but all of which were quite decent. Prices were pretty reasonable, especially for Kauai. Would definitely go back.“

“The food is average and the warehouse ambiance is poor. None the less the beers are all very balanced and generally distinct. Considering that they are in Hawaii, I thought the value was actually pretty good as well. The service was excellent as well. I wish they would send some of their beers over to Oahu because some of their stuff is a lot better than what the other local breweries offer.“

“Somewhat soulless industrial unit-cum-brewpub on the road leading down to the docks in Port Allen. Not that I’m arsed. Great pupus, relentlessly attentive service, essential souvenirs. The westernmost brewery on Earth, remember. After you’ve sampled every beer they’ve got you’ll probably want to stagger next door for a cock-emblazoned red dirt t-shirt and over the road for a thumb piano. Take a growler of Captain Cook and Pakala Porter with you. Worth a look.“

“Best brewery on Kauai! Okay, it’s also the only brewery but it would be worth a visit even if it wasn’t. Located in an industrial building just off the main "highway" along the southwest shore, it’s a long haul from the northeast side if that’s where you’re staying -- but you were planning on driving up Route 550 for the views of Na Pali anyway, right? Can’t comment on the food as we were on a liquid diet that afternoon but the beers were good, the service friendly (if not all that knowledgeable) and the atmosphere a nice temporary escape from the beach vibe.“

“Just happened to stumble on this place on the way to a boat trip out of the Harbor here. A cool little spot that just opened this week. Didn’t try the food, and only had time for a few samplings of beer, but they were pretty solid offerings, and they had 9 of their own plus 5 guest taps. Pretty impressive selection for a place this new. Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.“
