76 /100 156 EPPING ROAD The food is really great. The kitchen is from scratch. They do not serve anything frozen or mass-produced. They even hand make their own condiments. I have visited now well over 6 times and have been noticing that the beer has slowly improved. I find myself wanting to go back more often. |
72 /100 Thirsty Moose Taphouse - Exeter (Restaurant) 72 PORTSMOUTH AVENUE Open space concept, like all the Thirsty Moose locations. Inattentive staff, even when trying to flag down. Excellent beer selection, with lots of local brews. Food selection is pretty good. |
74 /100 156 EPPING ROAD Open location, with live music when I visited. Reasonably attentive staff who offered recommendations. 12 taps of homemade brews. Food was better than average. |
80 /100 2 CENTER ST Right in downtown Exeter, a neat little bar. About 12 taps flowing, plus to go cans. Beer is good, food is light. Worth the trip if in the area. |
80 /100 156 EPPING ROAD Not far off Rt 101 is this stand alone brewpub. A good amount of parking. About ten beers on tap at any given time. Indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is about quality not quantity. Interesting selections on the menu with some of the ingredients locally sourced. The beer is well-done to the style it represents. Worth a visit. |
86 /100 2 CENTER ST I visited less than a year after they opened and I enjoyed it a lot. It's just a short walk from the downtown area and there is street parking. A nice tasting room with a handful of tables. They had about 10 beers available for sampling. They do not can their beer at this time (in Aug 2020) but they do provide 24 oz crowlers of whatever is on tap. Tasting samples available. The owners are quite enthusiastic about their beer and they will answer any question you hurl at them. I'll go back. |
68 /100 Exeter Inn (Restaurant) 90 FRONT ST Good selection of beer. Service is meh. Price is...wait a second, didn’t I come up to New Hampshire to have cheap alcohol? Good enough if you’re staying here. |
62 /100 Hannaford Supermarket - Exeter, NH (Grocery Store) 141 PORTSMOUTH AVE Store is new (last few years), big, and clean. I don’t think anyone is going to come by and talk to you about beer. Selection is good for a supermarket. It has a sizable selection of the typical cast of characters you find in southern NH (Great Rhythm, Founders, Shipyard, Lagunitas, Stone, etc.) at pretty good prices (4-pack of Samuel Smith’s Double Chocolate Stout for $4.49), though not great for everything. They do allow you to assemble your own six-pack for $9.99. It’s a grocery store so it has a wide selection--did I mention that it is big? |
54 /100 On the Vine Marketplace (Grocery Store) 75 PORTSMOUTH AVE Let me start off by saying that the craft beer section is on the small side. So not a place to make a special trip for yet a decent option if your in the area. Your not going to find anything rare but they have a solid section of local favorites. They also feature a nice wine selection in a high end organic food store. Nice deli as well. |
