“One of the more veteran AL breweries. We stopped in for a quick flight of 5 ($12) and mildly enjoyed most things on it other than their long-running IIPA that had diacetyl in it. Super friendly staff and a nice clean tasting room. Worth a stop to/from Mobile/Pensacola.“

“Quite good place. Friendly patrons and the staff too. Not food for sale according to state law. A little expensive for a flight where they push a glass on your check which rises the cost.“

“Nice open space with tables and a fifteen seat bar. The beer is all Fairhope, ranging (for me) between 3.1 and 4.0. Flights are pricey, but my group solved the problem by purchasing a pint and splitting it four ways. One of the better stops in Alabama.“

“A fantastic location for a down South brewery with room for expansion (which is what they did). There is a large open bar looking into the 10 bbl system area and plenty of seating. There are a number of house beers but samplers are expensive. Hint: they don’t like pouring sampler trays so order a full pint you tickers and stop complaining. The beers are pretty good thanks to the new brewer Tim.“

“Visited on a Sunday afternoon over the holidays in late December. Pretty spacious, medium sized taproom. 10-15 seats at the bar and probably 10 tables throughout the room. There was a musician playing acoustic music during the duration of my visit. No food available. 9 beers on tap during my visit. 5-beer sampler flights are available. But I learned once I paid for my flights that it is $15 for 5 - 3 oz samples. Really??!?! That’s pretty ridiculous! If you wanted to get 2 flights to try everything, it would have been $30. That’s crazy! You would think that the bartenders would let you know the price when it costs that much. You do get a pint glass to take with you, but come on! Anyways...of the six beers I tried, a couple were pretty good, a couple were average, and a couple were a little subpar. Seems like a nice place for southern Alabama, since there are a lack of breweries in that part of the state.“

“This is a little off the beaten path (I-10) but a fun detour. The tasting room is very spacious and open feeling with plenty of seating both at tables and the bar. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight. While drinking my beer I was able to check out the brewery which is visible through glass behind the bar. I found the beers to be decent, but nothing terribly special. My bartender was very friendly and told me all about the beer, the brewery and the area in general. I enjoyed my stop here.“

Comments: Well it is easy to find and not far off I-10. Plus, the Alabama coastline is very pretty so you could visit here driving between I-10 and the coast. Interior is large, spacious, looks like a Country Club. A canvas projector screen in the room plus Jenga and board games makes it a fun place. One person on staff. Flights were expensive, $15 for 5, but you get to keep a tasting glass or a pint glass with their logo. Beers on tap had good style variety, but quality wise they were mediocre to poor. Still, they were not bad. And for now, this is about as good as you’ll get in the state I’d bet. “

“Nice looking store front. Spacious inside. High top, rustic tables made with what appears to be reclaimed, primitive wood. The brewery is attached and can be seen through the wihndonw behind the very long bar. There’s a patio, but there are just a few patio chairs strewn around. Service is interested, friendly, and helpful. Great vibe with some light Indy-style music. They do live music as well. Huge TV for sports on one side of the bar and two flat screens mounted high behind the bar. The five-beer flight is $15, but all pints are $5. I normally wouldn’t rate a place quite this high, except for the service and the beer quality. In my estimation, given what they have on tap now, particularly the Causeway, the 51, and the Jalapeno IPA, these guys are really on to something. Look out for Fairhope!“

“Visited February 20, 2014.

This is a pretty nice place. It takes a while to get here from I-10 so including driving each way and actually trying the beer this is at least an hour detour from the main highway. That said it’s only about 20-25 minutes from Mobile. It’s a fairly large brick building with maybe a 15 bbl system in the back showing through some windows. They had 7 beers on tap and the eighth had just kicked (it was a cider). My favorite was the IPA and my least favorite was the smoked roggenbier (though that one was just a pilot batch). They said that the Lil Poison Brown Ale is the favorite around town but I didn’t care for it. The hefe was probably my second favorite.

The two employees were very nice and fun to hang out with. We talked about local music, about the house beer (of course), and about fainting goats. The conversation started when I asked about the bartender’s shirt. On the front all it said was "I came for the goats" and on the back apparently it says something like "I stayed for the beer". It was for their first anniversary party that just happened and they had a bit of a petting zoo out front. Interesting concept. Overall the beers are decent and the people are very nice. Some day I’ll have to make the trip back and drive along the water.

Fainting goats are real, check it out:

“I think this was my favorite brewpub of a four day tour of coastal places from NOLA to here. The place is large and modern, very long bar and lots of tables, brewery visible through glass behind the bar. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Eight beers on when I visited, pints were five bucks or so, and four ounce tasters were available too. Each beer I tried was more delicious than the last. Food truck showed up after a while. I’d go well out of my way to visit this place again.“
