72 /100 288 GOOSE STREET As this is more of a country store that also functions as a cidery, it is not what has become expected as a beer or cider destination. I still had a good time shopping with my wife. Yes the pours were small. But this is not a bar, pub or otherwise. Have fun anf feed the ducks. |
72 /100 288 GOOSE STREET Not really a cidery but more of a gourmet country store that happens to sell their own cider and wine. Selection of their own food is huge and they let you sample pretty much everything. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive.
Sampling leaves much to be desired. You only get about a 1oz pour at a time. Bottles of their cider are $8, wine ranges from $8 - $25. Ice cream shop next store. Great place to take the kids, but the groceries are expensive. No beer here. |
68 /100 288 GOOSE STREET Didn’t realize this place was in database. It’s near my inlaws lake house had lots of jams, dressing, doughnuts and other food nice food products. You can feed ducks. They have a couple hard ciders, wine, and mead. Nice little country place not really beer destination though. |
60 /100 288 GOOSE STREET I stopped in on my way home from Cooperstown. Its a very cute place and frankly if you have young children, this would be a nice place to visit. There are lots of animals, a play area, and an outdoor eating area that is very family friendly. Inside they had two ciders available to sample as well as a large group of wines. In addition, they had various mustards, sauces, dressings, salsas, etc that were all available to be sampled. The people were very friendly, especially the lady doing the wine tastings. I can’t say I would make this a regular stop when I come to Cooperstown, but I was glad I visited. |
60 /100 288 GOOSE STREET Went and mulled around here for a while one morning, waiting for the cider and wine tasting to begin. They let you sample nearly everything in the store: sauces, cheese, olives, fudge, cider, it’s great. You can graze all day. Most of the sauces, nearly every single one, was far too sweet, though. The ciders I thought were OK, the wines were not so good. Prices are fairly high, but that’s expected at a store like this. Interesting to visit when you’re in the area. |
48 /100 288 GOOSE STREET Stop #3 while up in Cooperstown and the most surprising. This place brews 2 ciders and 2 meads and offers tastings of those as well as their fruit wines. While not quite the beer mecca Ommegang is and not quite the family brewery setting Cooperstown brewing is, this place has a lot to offer and is a great place to stop off after dragging your wife with you to two breweries as it has lots of country shopping, foods to sample and animals around back for the kids to feed. |
