“Rural setting down a dirt driveway right on the 101 just past the edge of town. A large yard in the midst of a stand of trees. You buy cider at the kiosk and find a place to sit. They have a couple of taps, some bottle pours and bottles for sale to go. Family friendly, dog friendly, it's a popular thing on the Coast.“

“The BCL here has slipped a little. They used to be a little more aggressive getting limited release stuff from the Coast, but that's not the case anymore. There's few singles available, so I seldom shop for beer here these days.t“

“Quite a nice large picnic area off the highway. A few food trucks on a friday afternoon, and a kiosk to buy ciders for drinking in the area. No tasters - they only sell their usual cans or bottles for use in the drinking area, nice glassware provided. Prices were cheaper than you'd find in Vancouver for their stuff. A fun visit, but you won't find anything here you wouldn't find elsewhere.“

“The store is a good size, the beer section relatively small, however. They stock a few racks of singles, focused on maybe 6-8 breweries. But Backcountry and Field House are two of those. The selection of 4 and 6 packs of craft is smaller, but I'm a ticker so I only care about that if I'm here for a longer stretch of time, which happens occasionally. It's my go-to store in Gibsons, but there's only three stores in Gibsons.“

“Set in a big farm just outside of Gibsons, this place seems to have it all - outdoor seating, a pizza oven, plenty of pretty good beers on tap. Good service and good value. Out of the way but the best place to sample their range of brews.“

“A nice large modern brewpub with open seating arrangements. Service was quite friendly and quick. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was really nice though kind of gooey. Beers tend to be quite good, reliably above average. Kind of out from the tiny town centre of Gibsons but a decent stop for lunch or dinner.“

“This place has a great patio, and some live music on a saturday afternoon. Service was quick and friendly enough, but a lot of their beers are simply mediocre. It's a good place to hang out, but I wouldn't come here looking for some mind blowing brews.“

“I can walk to Tapworks from my parents' house, so I come here a lot. Ok, so the rooftop patio is great. On weekend evenings they bring in a DJ, because they've carved out a niche at the "nighttime young people brewery", as opposed to Persephone's "crunchy mountain bikers and tourists" thing and 101's "random townies" thing. Every week there's a new small batch beer, but even in summer these last a couple of weeks. So if you go every 3-4 weeks you actually won't miss much, and for me it's 3-4 new ticks every visit, give or take. They open late, which nobody does in the retirement community that is Gibsons, and I very much appreciate that. The folks go to bed, I go to Tapworks. It's a thing. I like the place better than the beer, honestly.“

“Small, cozy taproom by the water. 8 beers on tap, with flights available for $8 (incl tax). Beers were fairly mediocre, with the NE IPA being the clear standout. Friendly, quick service. Worth a stop when in town.“

“Beautifully set-up tasting room in the heart of town right on the main road. Fairly small but cozy and nicely decorated. 6 beers on tap, available for order in flights of 4 for $8++. Speedy, competent service. Beers were decent. Didn’t try the food, but was glad to see a menu that caters to vegetarians and vegans. After Persephone, my favourite beer/cider place on the Sunshine Coast.“

“I've been a couple of times, during the day. It's bright with a lot of natural light. Modern feel, though not as white as Tapworks. There's an upstairs section, but I've never really been up there. The beers are ok, a set of regulars with a seasonal or two. Unlike the other breweries, they have their own kitchen and full menu. Even some vegan options, like the scrapple sandwich.“

“A gorgeous place on a humongous property. The tasting room is pretty small, with an attached fruit & veggie stand and a big patio / seating area outside. The rest of the property is devoted to harvesting their own hops and other crops, which you are free to roam and peruse. A handful of their beers on tap, which are available to order in 4 x 3 oz. samplers for $6, or glasses for $5-6. They also had a dry hopped cider when I went, the only one that I hadn’t had before (I hear they don’t often have tasting room-only one-offs). They had a food truck on site as well, with serves pizzas and few other items -- massively overpriced though. Great place to come chill and spent an hour or two while on the sleepy coast.“

“The best that Gibsons has to offer insofar as non-BCL’s. Not a big selection of craft beers, just two fridges of bombers, mostly generic local stuff. Prices aren’t too bad. The rest of the store is other liquor and wines. If you’re stuck in Gibsons for a while, it’s worth a stop but don’t expect much.“

“At the time of writing this, Google Maps leads you down the wrong street to get here (you should go down Grant from Clark Dr, and then turn left on Vernon. Bit of an obstacle course from the street to get there, but once you do, it’s a chill little space. They don’t seem to have a tasting room license, as all they do are sample and growler fills ($11 for 1L and $21 for 2L). Cider is okay, nothing special. Service is friendly and passionate. If you’re doing a brewery crawl around the area on a Saturday, it’s maybe worth a stop in.“

“Persephone has been building out their facility since they opened. It’s a cozy little tap room/growler station, and now they’ve got a picnic area, they plan to instal a pizza oven, and they do entertainment on Saturday afternoons. I get the sense they are really working hard to provide a good place for the community. They also have a hop farm, small now but they’re putting in another 5 acres for 2015.“

“Of the pubs on the Lower Sunshine Coast, Blackfish is the one you should turn to if you’re thirsty and Persephone isn’t open. They have a few Persephones, Fat Tug, one or two other micros as well. Food is better than average for a BC pub. The seats by the fireplace are where it’s at. They’ve put some effort into the place, with the copper ceiling and some other pub-like touches, so while it’s not English cozy it’s pretty good for a corporate place.“

“Great new brewery on the Sunshine Coast, in a farmhouse with its own crop of hop vines planted outside. Growler fills and pints of about half a dozen house beers. The stout and hoppy red are particularly tasty, whereas the Scottish ales are not. No food at the taproom, but I overheard someone saying there were food trucks parked outside occasionally, which is remarkable in this neck o’the woods!“
