“Beautiful little spot overlooking the Guysborough Harbor. Place was empty inside because everyone was sitting on the patio out back. Service was a bit slow but only one person tending the place. They have 3 of their own beers on plus a few other taps. Half pints available. The food menu is limited to mainly fish and chips and a burger. Neither of which stood out. Overall a cool little spot.“

“Gorgeous spot in a cute little rural town. Has a large but cozy interior and a smallish patio with a great view of the harbour. The service was super friendly when we were in (considering we were four adults, three kids and a dog - this did not go unnoticed). Fish and chips were perfect. Beers from the source are much (much) better than the bottled versions you’ll find in the NSLC. It’s a beautiful drive out to here and worth the visit.“

“Lovely building on the bay, right in the heart of the tiny little village of Guysborough. The premises is very impressive. Huge patio space looking over the bay. The pub itself is again a unique large space with a large square bar with unique finishing’s. Plenty of character. Unfortunately the pub area was undergoing some changes so was out of bounds on my stay. I sat outside with the family and enjoyed a nice meal of fish and chips and a couple of beers. If this pub was in/ or near the city it would be making a mint. I feel for this place, its geographical location is its Achilles heel. I fell in love with it. If you visit you will too.“

“Could have sworn I entered this rating already. Beers are serviceable if not super exciting. Beautiful spot, overlooking the water. Food was very nice, with some unique wraps on offer. (I had turkey with cranberry mayo i believe.) Service was friendly but not in as big a hurry as our tummies on a quiet day. Definitely a must stop if you are going to be in the area, but maybe not worth the almost 8 hour drive we did to get there :)“

“Visited this large lodge-like eatery early last September on our way back to Halifax from PEI. Beer was fairly decent (three of their own were good, the Red Hawk surprisingly so) and the food was delicious (tasty wraps were on the menu), but the place was not exactly hopping with people for dinner and the service was a mildly forgetful of us. That great view over-looking the water and a huge patio outside makes me think it was just the end of season gearing down. Worth the detour for the setting, not yet the beer.“

“Unlike Muggsy McCeol’s in Truro, this place qualifies as remote enough for me to understand that they’re not making their beer to satisfy beer geeks. Very tourist driven (only open in the summer), and their beers are limited in number and definitely on the light side. Clean and reasonably well made, but all could use some additional flavour/aroma hops. I have a feeling that as time passes they’ll start to experiment a bit more. The food is excellent, fresh and you can tell the chef knows what they’re doing. The service was great, too, and the atmosphere is very inviting - would make for a great local pub atmosphere-wise.“
