| 66 /100 Beer Bruvs (Internet-based) RED BARN, GRANGE FARM “New-ish webshop offering a beers from US breweries that (to my knowledge) haven't previously been available in the UK. I am always keen to try new breweries. Placed an order recently which arrived super quick. All from breweries I've never heard of.
Their turnover of beers might be a bit slow as the 'canned on' dates that were readable weren't great, so buyer beware on that front. Although I should add that some of the cans were reduced in price“ |
| 60 /100 Old Bridge Hotel (Bar) 1 HIGH STREET “This is an 18th Century, rather smart hotel close to the river, just off the town centre. Multi roomed, the bar is to the front of the hotel, below the restaurant level. There is a wine shop that sells a few beers but of good quality, Cloudwater, Nene Valley and Lost and Grounded all found in here at competitive prices. The staff are friendly and chatty. Little of interest for the beer hunter on the bar though, unfortunately and the prices are high in there.“ |

There is a small but dramatic frontage, however the pub extends way back, old beams, links to Oliver Cromwell, passageway seating. There are many changing beers from near and far, the food is hearty and good value. The best pub in town.“ |
| 58 /100 Sandford House (JDW) (Bar) GEORGE STREET “A large Wetherspoons but oddly for the chain, not directly in the centre of town like most. The pub is odd as it is 2 buildings knocked together, a Victorian chapel and old theatre, the basics of both are kept alive in the building, there is also a Wetherspoons Hotel to the rear. Otherwise it is fairly Spoons basic, crammed in tables and seating, food posters, dodgy carpets. Where it does excel is with plenty of busy staff, fast service, clean tables. One of the better pubs in the chain.“ |
| 74 /100 Falcon (Bar) MARKET HILL “Right in the Market Square in Huntingdon, the Falcon is an old coaching inn that now serves a multitude of purposes: alehouse, meeting place, rockers’ hangout... the possibilities are endless. It still retains its olde worlds charm, so you can bag yourself a comfy seat and watch the world go by with beer as the lubricant. I think this is run by the same team responsible for the Olde England chains in Northampton and Wellingborough, and the beer selection is similar: very Northants-centric with Potbelly and Nobby’s sharing the stage with Derventio, Elgoods and Marstons. The beer quality was a bit lower than I’d like for one of my choices but still perfectly drinkable. No ’craft’, just real ale and a couple of largers (Kaltenberg and the Wychwood one plus the usuals). Final verdict: it’s a brilliant town boozer, and the beer choice, while not exciting, will probably guarantee a couple of ticks. Far and away the best choice in town.“ |

Owned by Spirit (Greene King) but no Greene King beers on which is a winner. I had to change one of my beers which was done with no problems.“ |
