“Stopped in on my way from Memphis to New Orleans not far from the highway and had a great time here with lunch and a nice local IPA. Pulled pork was good and some nice local beer choices.“

“It's a Whole Foods, focus on the Deep South / Mississippi, but what do you expect. Only one in the state, apparently.“

“MCBerko is a bit of a Russian judge when it comes to scoring places (respect his taste, but he's a tough grader). I'd call this place the best beer store in Jackson (Fertile Ground is the best beer place in Jackson). Proprietor is surly if he thinks you're a ticker but really nice if you show an interest in his place / love of beer beyond ticking. Selection is fine (bit heavy towards Wicked Weed - they love their sours here and don't get much in the way of barrel-aged stouts). Some good stuff, broad in Mississippi, decently curated from Memphis, Alabama and NOLA (with a few others). Worth a stop if in Jackson.“

“Beer selection is fine - more broad than deep, not terribly well curated. They do pre-programmed flights, so I just got a pint of the one brewery in town (which is quite good). As far as a beer bar goes, I'd call this fine, but unspectacular. The gumbo and burger were both fantastic though. The gumbo was good enough to move New Orleans even higher on my "must go" list, and this is the high end of flavor for burgers. Not worth going too far out of your way for from a beer perspective, though.“

“I really, really wanted to love this place. I love BBQ, I love beer. The BBQ was serviceable, but wouldn't stand out in Seattle (Seattle's BBQ is very mediocre), and the beer was more broad than well-curated for me (it's probably tough being in a comparative beer desert). I still think this is one of the better places in Jackson for beer, and the beans and toast were really good, but just did not live up to expectations for me.“

“Swung by on a Friday afternoon, place was starting to get busy. Very large indoor and outdoor space, converted warehouse feel, ~20 of their own beers on draft. Three of the four beers I had were very well-executed and would get plaudits outside of the beer desert that is Mississippi (the other was a witbier that had too much citrus for me). Merch, clean spaces, this place is very good.“

“~10 taps, mostly local (Mississippi / Louisiana, with a few macros thrown in). Place itself is dimly lit but very pubby (go figure), burger was surprisingly good. Cromulent.“

“It’s a bottle shop that has about 10 taps and also houses Bicentennial Brewing, which is currently not brewing. So it was all guest taps when I visited on my daring visit to the hole that is Jackson. I was unenthusiastically greeted upon entering — it seemed my presence was unwelcome. I got a flight of 4 x 5 oz for $10 plus tax. Of the taps, a few were MS, some were LA, and the rest from further abroad. They serve all beer in plastic cups — nice one, guys. Bottle- / can-wise, they have lots of Deep South beers and you can do mixed 4-packs. In the beer desert that is Jackson, it’s worth popping in.“

“I came here on 24.10.2019. Unbelievably there is no brewpub in Jackson (the last and only one closed beginning of this year), hence this could be the best beer place in town. I have been to Bulldog in NONA. This one is much larger: long wooden bar, inside quite dark and a welcoming outside patio with a small fountain. Around 80 beers on tap and 50 in cans and bottles (not all are available). Not a great selection (serving beers in frozen glasses!!), a few local beers from Mississippi and otherwise quite mainstream stuff. I had beers from the local Southern Prohibition brewery MS (quite ok) and from Cross Town Brewing TN (terrible). Service was not consistent. Very hard to believe that a capitol city like Jackson does not have a better beer place.“

“A really cool, funky restaurant and bar, which I gather also often has live music (although none on our Fridey evening visit). The place itself is fairly large, with some neon lighting casting a novel glow, and lots of interesting ephemera on the walls. The beer range isn’t bad at all. The server said they have about 30 different beers across draft and bottle. We had two MS beers on our visit, both quite decent. The food here is pretty awesome: enjoyed a seafood platter (deep-fried catfish, shrimp and mussels), gumbo (great), and a seafood bisque (good, if a little buttery - or maybe that’s always how bisque is; we don’t have it much). Excellent service. Good value. Overall, it seems like this place is one of the better meal options in Jackson. I would recommend a visit, as in addition to the good food you can enjoy a local beer.“

“Pas mal l’épicentre craft de Jackson. Grand beer garden, large bar, un lineup dès que 20h se pointent et une sélection touffue axée sur les produits locaux. Bonus: À quelques pas de Saltine.“

“Un raw bar fabuleux, des bières locales, vins et spiritueux judicieusement sélectionnés, un staff qui te traite comme la famille et des plats aussi mémorables qu’abordables. Comment ne pas être en amour avec le sud.“

“Visited late February, 2016 on my way back from Texas. Visited late-ish on a Saturday evening and it was quite busy. A friend and I sat at a high table off the main bar by some luxurious Ron Burgundy-type books on a big bookshelf. It was cozy and fun, albeit quite loud in there. Our server wasn’t super knowledgeable on beer or whiskey or anything we asked about and she was pretty flakey at times. Once she walked right past our table with our drinks and looked around confused... we waved her over to our table and she said, "I’m sorry, I just got some terrible news." and then walked away.... and pretended everything was normal the rest of the night. Anyway, I’m getting off topic. They had a lot of taps, all good tap beer, lots of local/MS stuff, so I was in heaven. They had flights but you don’t get to pick what they are, so I didn’t go that route. They had run out of a bunch of stuff they had on their taplist, which was annoying. "We don’t get deliveries until next week." Well have more kegs ready and swap them out, geniuses. We didn’t try the food. Prices were average to high on the drinks. It’s not a beer destination but we had a good time and got to try some good beers. I have a feeling if you’re in or passing through Jackson, this is going to be your best bet. I will be back if ever in the area.“

“Ran into one of the bar staff, Mike, at Lucky Town on his day off, and I’m glad he told me about this place. Popular seafood restaurant in the trendy Fondren area. Plenty of lot and street parking. There was a wait for tables, but the bar is huge; still, I had to squeeze in at one end. The beer list is extensive with tons of local stuff on draft and lots of interesting bottles. The oysters were delicious, and the Po’ Boys were amazing. Staff was a bit overwhelmed, but did their best - they could use one more barman on the Friday night I visited. Clientele were friendly as well, southern boys and girls trying to learn about craft beer while slurping down oysters. Great place.“

“Looks like this place used to be an old gas station. You can enter and order food up front, or you can enter and walk around to the small bar. Half a dozen or so taps, and lots of interesting bottles. Very friendly. BBQ is very tasty. Lots of parking up front. Nice place.“

“More or less a strip mall place with a chain feel to it. Faux British pub. Plenty of parking, since it’s a strip mall. Service was OK. Beer list had a few bottles I hadn’t seen at other places. It is what it is.“

“Hotel bar. Four taps, two local, two from Louisiana. Loud boisterous fun crowd of grey haired ladies dancing to Twist n Shout when I visited. Interesting place. ext time I’ll stay closer to the Fondren part of town which is more happenin.“

“Not gonna get better than this in Mississippi. Went in right after opening on a Tuesday evening and it was great. Friendly staff, know their stuff, and a nice selection. They have a lot of macros on tap, which is probably a necessity, but definitely a lot of nice regional craft choices. Didn’t try the food. But hey, if you’re in the area this is where you want to be for good beer.“

“This place is pretty sweet for the middle of Mississippi. Like the bookshelves and high top tables. Fairly good selection for this area of the country. Had the shrimp po boy which was good but the fries were a little undercooked. Really only place worth stopping in town.“

“Great walking location next to Courtyard. Busy restaurant/bar with plenty of bar and bar area seating plus numerous tables. Large list of mostly macros and micro-macros, with a few gems thrown in. The ABV limit in MS really keeps this from being a top notch bar-I’m sure if MS ever un-capped the ABV limit this place would really rock. Good service and decent bar food. The best stop in Jackson. Selection based on overall US selection-if based on MS selection it would be tops.“

“This seems to be the best Mississippi has to offer. The interior is typical dark wood with a nice size bar and a pretty impressive number of taps. I was able to find 14 beers on tap that are not available where I live. Staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable.“

“Change in MS law now opens the door for a much improved menu. 62 taps and lots of bottles. Attentive staff. Friendly and willing to pour tasters. They know the beers. Interviewed me before making suggestion. Need better glassware.“

“This place has been around for quite a while and is really known more as a live sound venue than a restaurant/bar (i think) I always thought their house brewed beers were great when they were doing that and hate that they quit. FYI.. selection all over Mississippi is pretty skimpy due to the laws here.“

“No longer a brewpub - Ordered a SNPA from bottle and they no longer carried this either. Macro hell served in bottles only. Had to hang my clothes in the hotel shower and take a bath after I got out of here to rid myself of the noxious fumes. Sound like fun to you?“
