“It’s worth the trip out to Jefferson to check out DLC. The guys below have covered it well so you know what to expect. You can drink cider in a really friendly environment - 6 tasters available and with a tasting glass included was a good deal. The owner gave us a quick impromptu tour which was appreciated.“

“This place is located in a relatively remote section of rural Maryland. Nice little compound of a few buildings, tasting room, lots of storage for beer and apples. Plenty of apple trees across the entire property. Since we went the first day of Winter, there wasn’t much in the way of apples on the trees. The tasting room is small, but they let you walk around in the back a bit (or at least didn’t stop us). I got busy around 2pm, so if you want a quiet, uninterrupted tasting, show up earlier. We were able to try 4 of their ciders, plus a few others thrown in, and an experimental they may bottle next year (please do!). Prices are very reasonable for many of the ciders, which was nice. They had a large selection of bottles for sale. They welcome people to do a self-guided tour, but it was way too cold for that. Next time. Some of the ciders were a bit cold when served on the tasting, which muted some of the aromas and flavors. That may be our only serious complaint about the place.“

“DLC is another one of Maryland’s booming Cideries, complete with a bustling apple farm yielding a couple dozen or so varieties. There is a self-guided tour around the farm which puts you right inside the tasting room. Here, you’ll be welcomed with good service and a variety of primarily dry ciders. A nice respite from the heat on this June day.“

“This is a working farm across the street from the site of an 18th century rye whiskey distillery, with the remnants of its lane running through the property. Self guided tours of the farm are encouraged, and there are strategically placed placards to explain the cider process. Staff invited us into the "experimentation room" for a chat, and one of the ciders he showed us was made in the Basque style. It wasn’t for sale yet, but the owner graciously opened a bottle for us to taste, and ended up letting us buy some to take away. Tasting room staff is enthusiastic as he guides you a bit haphazardly through four samples for five bucks - in our case he added to extra. We bought a bottle to consume in the tasting room for good measure. A nice stop.“

“Nice cidery on a farm. Self guided tour with some interesting things to see. Staff is friendly and happy to chat about their operations and goods. Tasting available with a selection of their ciders and a tasting glass. Solid ciders with a few standouts.“
