“A really cosy Bar in the 3rd Floor at the centre of Kagoshima. They rotate their taps and have always a nice selection of IPAs. Amazing Burger! Must visit if u are in Kagoshima!!“

“As craft beer lovers we looked for a good place for beers in Kagoshima. This place is definitely one of them (there are 2 in Kagoshima). The bar is on the second floor and the entrance (staircase) is located on the main road. Not directly easy to find, but some perseverance will pay off. The bar doesn’t look like anything you are used to in Europe, but that happens a lot more often Japan. The owner was born in England but has been living in Japan for 15 years. We had a very nice talk with him, about Japan, about craft beers ( he definitely has some nice beers for you), about sensible food. The dinner he cooked for us was really nice (Tonkotse), with brown rice and steamed veg. Since he is also a musician we got to hear the latest album of his "band" which was really nice. We tasted 3 really nice Japanese craft beers. The last one I remember best, a very nice double IPA, nice and strong flavoured. So if you enjoy good beer, nice food, a good talk (also in English) this is definitely a place to go.“

“This is a large Tourist hotel that houses the Shiroyama Micro brewery. There are several restaurants and cafes within the hotel, all of which serve Shiroyama’s beers on tap. I asked and got a tour of the small brewery. We ate in their Japanese restaurant, Taki no Chaya and had a great lunch. Must stop if you are in this city.“
