“Not much to see here, just a few bottles of Hoegarden (regular and Rose) for 4.20 MYR and cheap macro crap. It is less expensive than other regions given this zone is duty free. Go there for the cheap chocolate...and i did manage to get my Chinese uncle satchel.“

“Beer is “cheap” wherever you go in Langkawi. RM 3.50 is still cheap in Malaysia for a 330ml can, but why pay 3.50 when you can get it for 2.50 here? They are also one of the few places that has Leffe Blond and Bruin, but at the same price as when I moved to the Netherlands in 2004! On the wine front, their prices can often be better than half the price of the Zon Duty free next door. As an example, a bottle of BV Merlot was RM 62 in Zon (which is just over half the KL price) but Coco Valley was selling two bottles of the very same wine for RM 50 … so just 25 a bottle! Amazing value.“

Gecko Mini Market (Beer Store)

“August 22 Update:. Prices have increased post Covid. They still have a slightly better selection than most other stores but prices are now significantly higher than they were and there are much cheaper options close by. Original review: Most of the minimarts and convenience stores on Langkawi don't sell alcohol, but this one does. They have around 25 different bottled/canned beers including Little Creatures and Kyoto. The locally brewed beers are the cheapest of course and they are as cheap here as you will find anywhere. Cash only. No cards.“
