“Visited August 2022 with beery friends. Just placed close to the train station easy to get to and find. Super friendly service, nice beers both on tap and cans from the fridge. Cans either to drink in or take away. Lots of seatings, mainly outside. For sure worth a visit and revisit.“

“Reopened & refurbished pub, former home of Brodie's Brewery.. Tap & cask is still available from the likes of Five Point & Truman's. Great tasty food available. 25 minutes walk from Leyton tube station.“

“The best football club house in England, serving a good range of unusual beers from small breweries. Entry is a £1. They hold 2 beer festivals every football season. Open from 12:30 on Saturday match days, 5:30 weekdays.“

“On the High Road through Leyton, this is a European food store with a fair selection of brews from the east of the continent, mostly in fridges on the left after you enter.“

“Quite a hip little locale in Leyton's high street. A half wine bar and beer bar along with a small restaurant and some artisanal foodstuffs for sale. I came here for the beer selection - it's not a bad little bottle shop with a few dozen locals. Prices were about average for London. If you're in the area it's worth checking out.“

“Visited on Saturday 11th March 2017: before Grimsby Town beat Orient 3-0. Large place with glimpses of it’s former grandeur: check out the toilets too. It has a plush dining room and a couple of smaller rooms apart from the main room. Eight hand-pulls with Volden beers (Antic pub, so expected) and other London/UK brews (Gypsy Hill, Hackney and Vocation on my visit). Interesting bottle list, didn’t notice the keg lines, sorry. Anyway a big, grubby place with all sorts of different items to look at and sit on. Liked it. Staff were busy, friendly and happy.“

“Paid 1 quid to get in on matchday, but then all pints are sold at 3 quid, which is very cheap for London. Had 4 pints of cask ales in fairly good condition, and 1 bottled beer when the casks were empty. Gets very busy before and after the game, but a few chairs are available if you get in early - otherwise it is standing room only. No food.“

“3.20 a pint? Utter win! Tap-takeover for Round Tower. Beer kept immaculately and I should know I’ve had it fresh at the brewery. The staff are attentive and well-trained. They are drilled and service is fast and efficient. The football fans turned up in numbers and absolutely lapped up the cask ales. More football clubs can learn from this place. Sure no craft keg but this is a great example of what to do to promote real ale to football fans. Well played.“

“It’s not often I go in a football club bar as they’re usually not worth the effort. Decent range of ales, though a few too many big brands for my liking. Free entry if you’re a CAMRA member, if not it’s a quid. Problem is it’s too much of a scrum to get to the bar so I buggered off and went to a normal pub. More football clubs should sell real stuff, this is proof people will buy it and it will shift.“

“Impressive pub which was formerly Leyton town hall. Originally a pop-up pub for the Olympics it’s now been opened permanently. Uninspiring beer range though, nothing new for me and I ain’t a Londoner!“

“Alytus is a small East European grocery store. The fridge and shelves by the door have a reasonable range of bottles. It’s not worth a special visit in my view but it’s worth popping in if you’re in the area (it’s just a few doors down from the King William IV / Brodie’s) and want a few pale lager ticks. (Visited 18 April 2014).“

“Ever tried a latvian cider? Want to? This is the place. Unassuming eastern european food store that happens to be kvass heaven. Maybe 30-40 truly arcane beers on offer at really low prices, including at least 10-12 kvasses. The selection seems to be mostly from Latvia and the surrounding region. The lady behind the counter was pretty humored by my close inspection of their range of kvass. I’m pretty sure she wanted me to slip her my number, but I refrained because I’m a gentleman. Prices are insanely cheap. Overall, definitely worth a stop in. The High Road stretching from Lea Bridge Road down to Leyton is a rich vein of Eastern European markets and shops. If even one tenth of these stores carries a selection like Alytus’, then we may be looking at the greatest concentration of kvasses in western Europe. I’m genuinely excited about this.“

“Right, so if you want to talk about hidden gems in London, this place should be at the top of the list. I’ve found loads of outrageously random Eastern European beers in here - and kvass! The selection is pale lager-heavy, though there are a few dark beers to be found - and kvass! Prices are very good, and the service essentially non-existent, which is fine with me. I’m guessing the lady at the counter is pretty weirded out by the random guy poring over their cheap beer selection, and she probably figures it’s best to just let him be. This shop is a one-minute walk from William IV, so if you’re in the area pop in here - and kvass!“

“As an Orient fan this place was always going to get a good review from me. Always has a good selection of ales and ciders at good prices. Very welcoming place for any supporters. Pretty crowded immediately before and straight after the game, but fine if you stay a bit longer.“

“For a football supporters club bar, this place is pretty amazing. Hours are restricted, mainly open on matchdays and evenings associated with matches. Always a good selection of local ales, with Essex and East Anglian brewers well represented. Occasional beer festivals are held, with good value and atmosphere guaranteed. My only gripe is that too many Golden ales are featured, which can end up tasting a bit samey.“

“This club bar is normally open on match days, but additionally when internationals are screened. It is, however open to the public as well as supporters, and particularly welcomes Camra members, with cheap real ale. Good, varied range of ales kept. Visitors are advised to contact the bar before travelling, as it can get crowded on certain days. It has won awards in recent years due to its adventurous ale policy. On match days a £1.00 entrance fee may be levied on visitors who are not members of UK CAMRA (who are admitted free at all times). During non-matchday opening hours, admission is free to all. The pub hosts at least one annual beer festival, PIGLET, at which around thirty ales from small regionals to micro breweries feature. This is a friendly, welcoming clubhouse and all keen ale drinkers receive a welcome regardless of football team loyalties, etc. Recommended.“
