“Historically this pub is in Cheshire, although since the 70’s this is now part of Greater Manchester, although the leafy village this pub serves is far removed from the concrete urban sprawl of Britain’s third city. The hillside location and rolling fields also indicate that Derbyshire and the Peak District is not too far away. Located in the middle of a row of houses on what could be classed as the main road through the village it blends in well with its architectural surroundings. The front garden area is no bigger than the neighbours residential garden but it does sport a couple of tables. Inside it does feel more like a pub than a home and has a bright traditionally wooden decor but uses the buildings stone and brick features well. Bollington Brewery ales are usually on here and the food is worth ordering. Dogs are allowed and may prefer to sit by the fireplace. The car park is opposite the pub and has plenty of space.“
