“Came to town to eat BBQ and listen to blues on Beale street, BB Kings place is a block away. Monday they have $4 pints all day long :). Had lunch and started working our way through the tap list. In addition to some pretty good Wiseacre beers, had Paulaner, Delerium Tremens, LaChouff, Ommegang all for $4. I thought I died and went to heaven. After several pints was in a good mood for BBQ and music. Next day hit up happy hour from 3-6 for $5 pints. Then had more BBQ and even better music on Beale street- wow. Staff were cool, lunch we had was fine. Really good beer selection.“

“My wife is Irish, so we stopped in for a meal and a Beer. She did not like her brisket sandwich, but I liked it more then my corned beef sandwich. The Beer was a least called craft IPA. Then I saw Untappd has this listed as a Dive Bar! That explains everything. Interesting place and we did have prompt service.“

“Patty and I stopped in after the ivil right place. Just a few blocks away. Wow is this a big place!. They have 24 taps but 2 I wanted were sold out. They have cans to go for some of their beers. Prompt service shortly after they opened. The Beer was good, but not outstanding.“

“Had the Wee Heavy and the IPA and they were fine, if nothing outstanding. Ambience was warm and cozy and the service was great. Food served is typical pub grub menu and is good. Not a huge selection of brews but it's a good restaurant and decent brewpub.“

“Visited here in late March '22 while in town for business. Has a pretty solid selection of Memphis area brewers, a small selection of singles available at the end of the aisle. Did not appear to have a growler station or any taps - I think a lot of Whole Foods did away with them due to Covid.“

“We visited Grind City after they'd been open for a few months. It's tucked away on a riverbank. The large outdoor area has a great view of the city on the other side of the river. They had some live music inside and the atmosphere has standard taproom vibes. The beer spanned a broad variety of styles, some tasted better than others. The bartender was overfilling the glasses to the point where there was no head at all and beer was splashing all over the place when patrons were trying to get back to their seats. Memphis has a reasonable brewery scene these days and I'd like to explore it a little more to see where Grind City fits. We had a great time here though.“

“They've got a huge drinking area at this sizeable production brewery. It sprawls outside and into another building too. Lots of beers were on tap that don't see much distribution. Wiseacre is honestly one of the best breweries in the state. Nearly everything I have had from them over the years is executed immaculately. There's a ton of swag and beer to go here as well.“

“Yes this is a semi-sketchy grocery store in Midtown Memphis but it has an amazing beer selection. They have a huge selection of local and craft singles for between $1-2 and you can buy a 4 or 6 pack. All beers are in a cooler that is separate from the growler filling station. The growler filling station had about 20 beers on tap. If you need any help or have questions go straight to the growler area and the guys are super helpful. You can also check-out here instead of waiting in the typical long lines up front. Great prices and great selection with friendly help. If you’re looking for beer, stop here first and then go to Joe’s down the street. Prices are better here.“

“Great place in Memphis that is a combination bar and store. They have 28 carefully selected taps with heavy emphasis on locals. You can get growlers to go plus they sell singles and mixed packs to go. Very friendly service. Average prices. Snack, pub food menu. Limited wine for non-beer drinkers. Nice patio outside. My new fave in Memphis.“

“Stopped by on a Monday evening (check website for open days and times). Fairly busy. Nice facility with ample parking. Service was fine. Prices were fair. Think eight or nine of their beers on tap with a few available to go. Beers were above average and would be glad to visit again when I have more time to spend here.“

“Visited on a Monday evening (the day before New Year's Eve), and the store was quite busy. It has improved greatly since the previous reviews. Found a nice selection of regional beers and a decent selection of national brands. They had a growler station with about six choices of local beers. The staff was helpful and informed. Found some nice local beers to take home. Worth your time to visit.“

“Interior is open and inviting, yet somehow cozy. They have plenty of games to play - pick one! Servers are friendly, helpful, and efficient; they make you glad you dropped in. Their beers are good, too. Whether you live in or near Memphis, or are just passing through, this is a must.“

“Cool looking place, very family friendly with plenty of games to play. You must go to the counter to order a beer but when you do the service is exceedingly friendly. No guest taps, they cover a lot of styles but their beer is average at best. Food truck out front looked and smelled great but I didn't partake. Everything about this place except the beer quality was great. You should check it out if you're in Memphis, there's not a lot else in terms of craft beer. Visited their Beale Street location in March '22 and it was excellent. You can't beat the location and it really looks like they poured a lot of money into the place. 3 levels, indoor and outdoor sating, 3 different bars, tons of beer cocktails, a food vendor and even a stage with live music. This location is a must-go if in Memphis.“

“Modern/industrial looking interior located in a building with a characteristic historical appearance. Half pours and flights available, but the beer ranged from decent to bad. Especially the ESB which was a huge diacetyl bomb. Belgian inspired beers were pleasant though.“

“Generic wooden interior in sharp contrast with most contemporary brewpubs. Flights of 8 available, which allows you to try most of their beers in a short time. Unfortunately, most of the beers are dull and their 'hoppy' ales very malty. Exception being the fine Oatmeal Stout and the Scottish Ale, which is pleasant as well. Very friendly service. Food available as well. Overall not a priority stop in Memphis.“

“Visited twice. Spacious place similar in style to the other Flying Saucer I visited in Nashville, but a bit less impressive. Large menu of taps and bottles with a mix of interesting locals and more well-known US craft. Flights of four available, but they have this funny rule that only one of them can be above 7%. Service was on-point, just don't expect the staff to be knowledgeable about beer.“

“Spacious liquor store with a serviceable selection of local breweries as well as some quality well-known west coast stuff. Taps and growlers available as well. We were on our way out of Memphis and had to stack up on beer for a couple of days of travel and this store served us well. Very friendly staff that showed interest in our road trip and the various beer spots we had visited. As if that wasn't enough we got a nice discount at the counter. Definitely a must-stop in Memphis, especially for travellers.“

“Right over the bridge as soon as you enter Memphis. Very nice decor inside just my industrial sheek style. Lots of board games. Food truck in lot but didn’t try. Staff friendly enough not all that busy on Friday early afternoon. Decent size draft list the few I had were decent but nothing “wow” worthy. Anyways cool joint I would recommend.“

“An old small industry building near the Mississippi River. Decor is nicely integrated into the structure. The staff and core customers were all friendly and entuhsiastic about the beer. “Going to a Flying Saucer Draught Emporium has been on my Beer Nerd Bucket List for some time. Found myself in downtown Memphis and had to check it out. Plenty o’ taps, however, the local/ regional representation was less than expected. Bartenders were OK at serving you but could of been more helpful when navigating the three beer menus. Came to the realization that my beer nerd heaven is just another restaurant/bar chain selling a plethora of beer.“

“Had a great visit here. Went on the Friday night prior to the Liberty Bowl game. Very busy. Had four of their offerings and they all were solid. All of the locals said this was the place to go in Memphis. About 10 of theirs on tap and some others bottled and canned. Had a great rib sandwich from the food truck. Bought a couple of bottles and a sixer to go. Credit and debit cards only, they don’t take cash. Bought a few bottles and a sixer to go. I consider this a must in Memphis. “

“Only beer store I had time to visit during my recent visit to Memphis. Nice selection of southern U.S. beers. Had fair selection of European and other U.S. beers. “The draught selection is insane, lots of locals and of course beers from all over US and som european. I love the nerdiness with the plate reward when you try 200 different beers, top place for beer in Memphis. For one thing, you get your beer in real glasses. Only plastic mugs on Beale Street wich is just terrible...“

“stopped here on my why to Texas for the weekend. Industrial feeling, stand up bar some high tops, outside seating. Had a food truck outside, did have any food from it so cannot comment on it, I was going for BBQ. The one down side was the had a guy playing guitar and the volume was way too loud you couldn’t hear your talk. I had the scotch ale which was good and the ctzar IPA which was ok . next time through memphis I will stop again.“

“Visited late on a Friday and found it filled with SEC frat types. Pretty standard setup. Slightly dingy L-bar with an open plan kitchen in the back. Great music despite the less than ideal company. The jukebox was playing cuts from Sweetheart of the Rodeo and Nashville Skyline. The beer list wasn’t eye-opening, but did feature a few local beers including a ginger saison from Memphis Made. Service was acceptable considering the madness. Overall, maybe worth a peek if you’re in the vicinity. Certainly not a place worth a detour.“

“Visited late on a Friday night and found the place heaving. The space is functional, decorated with a modern industrial flair that’s pretty commonplace these days. The beer selection was pretty sedate. It was small and featured breweries that I spied at other bars in town. Frankly, I wouldn’t have added this place if it wasn’t already in the database. I ordered an ESB from a local brewery and it was a total diacetyl bomb. I ended up not mentioning to the staff because it was so busy and I’m pretty sure they would’ve had no clue of what I was talking about. The service was memorable for how awkward it made me feel. My bartender was absolutely shit faced. She had no control over the volume of her voice, forgot my order WHILE SHE WAS POURING MY BEER, and dropped a bunch of glasses due to her loss of motor skills. It was pretty embarrassing to watch her work, and I ended up feeling pretty angry that the other staff members were happy to let her continue facing customers despite her conduct. I’m all for letting staff drink in moderation on the job, but she was way over the line. Overall, I hated this place. It’s of no interest to visiting ratebeerians, so steer clear.“

“I visited late on a Friday night and didn’t find it particularly busy. If you’ve ever been to a Flying Saucer, you know the drill. Big, functional space filled with bros and commemorative plates. The tap list was pretty boring and didn’t feature much stuff from Tennessee. I eventually settled on a local IPA that wasn’t bad. The service was fine. Overall, I had an unexceptional experience at an entirely mediocre bar.“

“Joe’s is still my Go-To Stop for beer because of their beer club discount but Natalie’s is coming on strong. Joe’s has a very good high gravity selection of beer for the Memphis area. I’m going from memory here but they have about 12 shelves of beer at room temp and 2-3 three doors of singles in the cooler. Their prices are much better than Busters. The staff is nice and helpful. The store is clean, easy to get to and plenty of parking. Anyone in or passing through the Memphis area that’s into craft/import beer should check it out. They even have a beer club. Plus the sign is cool, especially at night. “
