“The taps rotate and are very if not blatantly IPA focused. This place is a favorite but only for the staff and beer finds!“

“As of this writing, they’re a year away from their centennial. This place has been slinging sandwiches and pouring beers in this area since my great-grandfather was still working. Man, what a legacy. It’s on the north end of the island which, as the menu explains, is near where the dock used to be that serviced Kirkland and Leschi with ferry service. Ferry service on Lake Washington. Dig it. It looks like an old house, and there are half a dozen tables on the porch. The wood paneling inside goes way back, gotta be decades old. There are a million little bar tchotchkes everywhere. They even have a huge bar mirror with a hydroplane on it. You know this place has been selling kegs since back in the day if they’ve been around since the days of hydroplane-related bar freebies...and still haven’t taken it down. There are video games, there are comfortable stools, plush vinyl booths, and a great beer lineup. Damnation! Laurelwood! Great kegs! There are burgers and sandwiches. Nothing fancy, but all good. The desserts are just OK. The staff is great, and they clearly have every imaginable regular from the Rock coming in here. We were here the night they did dollar pints for any veteran for Veteran’s Day. This place is a century old, they have great kegs and they offer buck beers for vets. How awesome is that combination? I love this place. Wish we had something like it--anything like it--in my neighborhood.“

“The beer selection isn’t the greatest, but the atmosphere in this rustic neighborhood locale makes anyone feel at home. You know when you see those shows and you wonder how everyone knows everyone in the bar...this is that sort of place. In summer the outdoor seating is great. Even when the weather isn’t the best, you can sit in covered outdoor benches.“
