“Bank & Bridge What a wonderful experience. The brewery is a old Bank turned restaurant/ brewery. The Bank Burger was gourmet, staff was helpful/ nice , and they have a outdoor seating for dogs. For me if I am within a 30 minute drive of this place, I am returning. The had on 9 drafts the day I visited. Prices were high, but I mean, it’s Mystic in the summertime for god sake. Overall, Awesome! “

“Cool little taproom in a small space in Mystic. Had a quick flight here while passing through town on a road trip. Friendly people and pretty good beer. Prices good.“

“Excellent Beer Hall atmosphere inside. The Beer list is well rounded and extensive. The bartenders and staff are very attentive, and samples are passed out freely. Food is tasty and well suited for backing up a belly full of beer. Maybe a tad pricey...but hey, we're in CT, the land of high taxes and everything over-priced“

“Great place inside and out. Plenty of places to sit to eat drink and make merry. The beer selection is a nice mix of relatively local stuff. The burgers are fantastic, and the staff is on their game with the beer and the food. A definite place to go when in Mystic.“

“Beautiful location just off the river, with a rustic but modern feeling to it. 16 taps, no flights or small pours, but the staff was happy to make an exception and do 4 oz pours. Beer list was decent but nothing overly exceptional. Prices are very high, but the beers they offer are generally worth it. Worth a stop if passing through.“

“Stopped in on the way back to our hotel. Large place, lots of seating both at the bar and tables. Several taps, including wine, something different. We did not order a meal, just had an appetizer. Bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. Provided samples, a plus, we tried a few of the local beers. Well worth the stop.“

“Stopped in for dinner, had a 15 minute wait, so decided to check out the bar. Several local beers on tap, so choose a nice IPA. Big bar area and decent seating area. Some of the seats are called kitchen seats, with a view right into the food prep and cooking area. Our waitress suggested a couple of beers to try as we ordered our food. Great atmosphere, worth the visit.“

“Located in a shopping center across the street from the Mystic Hilton, the Jealous Monk was a pleasant surprise considering how touristy the area is and a really serious craft beer bar. It has kind of a biergarten feel with a generous outdoor seating area as well as very long bar. They had a ton of local stuff on tap as well as hard to find craft offerings from around the globe. The food was tasty and apparently their kitchen is open as long as the restaurant is. i’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.“

“Located in downtown Mystic, which means the parking lot is very small. Luckilly there’s big lots connected to the seaport within half a mile. The inside has the feel of an old barn with reclaimed wood fixtures and big steel beams, It looks like something from a Jack Daniels ad which is really cool,. They a couple of large shelves of whiskey and also 1 dozen or so taps of some pretty rare stuff, especially for the region. The bartender was very passionate about beer and made some good suggestions. The food is on the rustic side and fairly tasty. Of course given the location and the quality and rarity of the beer prices were not cheap, but what a great experience. I’d love to go back!“

“Small family type establishment with a bar with 8 beer on tap, half being Shipyard beers. Food is very good, the barman is friendly without being a nuisance, the atmosphere is a bit geriatric, but it’s probably the only place to have a couple of non-industrial beers around.“

“This place is fantastic! Maintaining the character of the old factory yet making it an inviting spot to enjoy good beer really makes this place great. The beer is excellent, the service at the bar couldn’t be better and the good food is just a bonus - love the deviled eggs.“

“Enjoyed dinner and a few pints at the Engine Room the night before Streets and Annie’s wedding in Mystic, CT. Really cool decor in this place with the kitchen open to the dining area and a separate bar area carved out. Food was great and the beer selection was solid. Good stuff all around.“

“Fantastic experience! Educated bartender who was fun to talk to. Delicious food... we all had burgers. And a deep selection of craft beers including some euro and japanese beers. Heard from staff that local breweries often have functions/events here. We stopped in during a day of brewery tours along the coast (Beer’d, Grey Sail, Thimble). Will be back!“

“This was an interesting place. The mill itself is the last steam powered mill in the region, and it was really neat to see the old press, still in use. Apples were being delivered when we were there. Then up front there’s an extremely touristy general store. Tastings are only done on the weekend, so we came away with a few bottles and that was it. Worth a look. Cans of their ciders are available at stores in the region.“

“An historic cider mill in picturesque rural CT. There were apples heading into the mill as we arrived. The freshly made cider donuts were good but we were two days early for a cider tasting. We instead opted for a couple bottles to go. Visit on a Saturday for a cider and wine tasting.“

“I stopped in here with the family while on vacation in the area. The wife couldn’t decide where to eat so I made the executive decision. Cool industrial space with a great deck at the main entrance. Taps about 12 deep all craft, some locals, really well thought out selections too. They have a large selection of whiskey but not being my thing I’m not sure the quality. The menu is kind of limited and I got flack for that, although no one complained about the quality of their food in fact they really enjoyed it. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, a couple of entrees and a smattering of appetizers, all nicely prepared and locally sourced. Service was prompt and available. My wallet did a bit of weeping on the way out the door, but I would go back in a heartbeat if in the area.“

“I was not really that impressed by the beer selection, but they do have a good selection of Shipyard beers. The bartender was really nice on our visit, and the place is well located if you are visiting the sea port and need a beer break. For those reasons, I’d at least sort of recommend it.“

“Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Mystic. Deceiving store front would make you think it wa just liquor or BMC inside. Instead, it’s a failrly nice selection, including lots of locals (Back East, Hooker, etc.). Very reasonably priced, cheaper than NYC overall. Nice, clean, well lit, helpful staff. Decent bottles such as Ommeganag 15th Anniversary, North Coast Old Stock BB, some ecnt Belgian sours and Lambics. Pickings can e i\lim around here, so this is a good place to keep in mind.“

“I wandered in here while my wife went into the CVS next door. The signs only advertised BMC, so I was surprised to find a decent selection of imports and national micros. They had a number of the bottlings of North Coast Old Stock barrel renditions, as well as a good display as a Belgians. The regional macro selection hurt and they didn’t seem to be up on hyped brands, but not having found much in the way of other places to find beer in Mystic, this will definitely do.“

“Another place that had neglected to review. Went here last fall to check out the cider selection, score a cider donut, and just enjoy autumn in New England. This is the only place, I believe, in New England to try what is considered traditional New England-style hard cider. The ciders are big on the booze and barrel-aged. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit to experience the traditional ciders (go get the milk jug versions in the basement of the press house), and see the press.“

“This place was quite a supise. i found it on a weekend vacation to Mystic. In Connecticut, liquor stores and beer stores are one in the same. This place has most of its space dedicated to booze and win, but has a dedicated beer corner. I ound soen decent beers here, like Stone, Schlenkerla, Sinebrynchoff, Rogue. Very reasonabale prices. I picked up a DFH My Antonia for $7, and Stone 15th Anniv. for $6.50. The place is clean and wel lit, lots of parking. The staff is friendly and helpful. Decent overall.“

“Visited this while traveling down to the casinos one weekend. My wife and daughter had seen the movie and we decided to check it out. Homey environment, but pretty noisy... one big dining room. Lots of local, nautical and movie memorabilia on the walls. We were a bit surprised to be seated without waiting on a Friday night, Service was quite good as was the pizza and appetizers. Mystic Seaport Pale Ale was the only non-megabrew offered, but they sell 4-pint pitchers of this. Worth going back to...“

“Average size liquor store with adequate beer selection. Immy took me on a field trip here and talked it up. Nice selection, small but good beer, singles selection was sparse this day, nearly empty so we grabbed some bombers and a gift pack which satisified. Hope they restock before I have to leave.“

“This is an historic cidery that produces several hard ciders and apple wines as well as the standard apple juice many cideries produce. The place is small, but interesting in that it is a steam powered cidery and one of the last of its kind in the world. For anyone interested in cider, try to get to this place when they are operating the steam powered press. It’s been in operation for over 120 years and makes ciders on a small scale that are only sold through their store. 4 free samples are given per tasting. The ciders themselves are nothing special, especially when compared to places like Flag Hill Farm and West Country Winery, both of which make more intense examples of cider in New England, but the place itself is worth visiting. Anyone interested in catching a glimpse at a pre-prohibition hard cidery should make this place a stop if in the area.“

“Beer, wine and liquor store. Easy to miss - tucked back in a small shopping center. Decent selection of beers, singles available. Lots of locals, typical Belgians, DFHs, Avery and others. Not a bad stop. Staff is helpful and somewhat up to speed on beer.“
