64 /100 FIVE WAYS SERVICE STATION, 99 - 101 ARMAGH ROAD
“Visited on the afternoon of Wednesday 25/01/23. This is an off licence located at the entrance of the Nisa Extra store, inside the Fiveways Service Station, not a petrol station kind of affair ... more a medium sized retail park on the edge of the city centre. Largely wines and spirits but a decent sized shelf with quite a few NI picks including the likes of Mourne Mountain, Bullhouse, Whitewater allied to republic options such as Trouble Brewing, Brehon and a few others. As it stands in my survey of Newry ... worth hitting here for the above breweries, Drink Link for the ones I listed there and Tesco Extra for NI Ciders ... they all have their merits if you have a little time on your hands and you could easily pick off these 3 venues in an hour with a car.“

The Drink Link (Beer Store)
129B DUBLIN ROAD, CARRIVEMACLONE
“Visited at lunch time on Tuesday 24/01/23. Bottle shop a few miles south of Newry town centre, more for wines and spirits but there's a separate room on the right as you enter that is filled solely with beers. Upwards of 50 different bottles/cans when you count macro. Some UK stuff such as Deya, Tiny Rebel and Magic Rock, Belgian staples and from the Irish scene which is what interested me I recorded (via photo on phone) offerings from ... White Hag, Kinnegar, Heaney, Whitewater, Lacada, Bullhouse, Galway Bay, Whiplash, Modest Beer and McCrackens amongst others. The guy working there was a little inattentive and disconnected but hey ho. Overall likely the best pit stop for beers in this area.“
