84 /100 103 WATER STREET N This was a good find in rural Minnesota. It's comfortable with a pretty cool atmosphere, definitely has an old-school brewpub feel but without being too stock. Service was great. The beer was solid and spanned a good array of styles including some classic styles, some trendy things, and a few adjunct beers. The food menu also featured some more eclectic dishes alongside more expected classics. I really enjoyed my visit here. |
72 /100 519 DIVISION STREET SOUTH UNIT 2 A nice taproom with large garage style doors that open to a nice patio that had a food truck on it. A few TVs but nothing invasive. Service was good. 10 beers on tap with flights available. Prices were on the low side. A pleasant surprise. |
62 /100 519 DIVISION STREET SOUTH UNIT 2 Cool new spot in Northfield. Big garage doors that open the space up to the outside. 8 beers on today, small pour sizes available. First few beers I tried were solid. The place is absolutely packed with humans tonight. Local band kickin’ it. |
62 /100 103 WATER STREET N I think this place will be good. Ambiance is cool. Only 4 beers on today, but that is going to increase. $6 for a flight of 4 - good value. Beers weren’t terribly exciting, but well made, which is more than a lot of new breweries can say. |
70 /100 The Contented Cow (Bar) 302B DIVISION ST S This is the go-to bar in Northfield for most of the college students. They frequently have musical guests, and do not charge a cover. While the tap selection is nothing particularly special, they do always have a few craft options. In addition, the food, particularly the artichoke dip, is very good. I can’t complain with the ploughman’s plate either. What really wins me over is the patio though, especially on a night with live music outside. Not a bad place. |
