66 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 Just 1 brew at the time of my visit - typical but so good Frankonian helles. Nice biergarten located a bit lower is a great place to sit below the trees & enjoy your beer. |
96 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 Treated like a king by Dominik, beers were ultra clean and well made. Fresh and characterful. Quite a bike ride from Bamberg but well worth it. |
76 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 Early morning visit. One very friendly local pounding the excellent (3,8) lager. Kindof tired smelly stube, but the beer was excellent! A small trip from Bamberg. |
70 /100 PFARRER-BAUMANN-STR. 21-23 Zenglein still operates a restaurant and still calls themselves a brewery, but the two house beers and the bock are apparently contracted out to Göller Zeil am Main. The two year-round beers available are a zesty dunkles Zwickelbier and a lip-smacking filtered Pilsner, both full of character, defying the assumption that contracted recipes tend to be dull and sterile. |
64 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 Busy at lunch on a Sunday, seemed fairly family-oriented. Bigger place. OK house beers and the food wasn’t bad. |
80 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 an inviting little brewery about 15 miles west of bamberg. well-lit interior with a jovial local crowd. one beer available in early october and it was genuinely excellent. the owner/server/brewer was keenly interested in my note-taking. definitely worth visiting if out touring the countryside on bike or car. |
54 /100 AN DER STEIGE 2 Typical, a bit faceless, franconian village-tavern with a nice Felsenkeller (shady beer-garden), a few steps behind the brewery. Popular with locals, unspoilt franconian atmosphere........... |
