60 /100 110 E MAIN ST. Sitting at the bar as I write this. Smallish but long old-timey place. Reminds me of a cleaner Miller’s (Charlottesville). 11 beers and 1 cider on tap; 4 of the taps are their own (Willow Springs). None of the other taps exceptional or rare. Looks like there are a slew of bottles on top of the cooler, but from here there’s nothing special. Good music - every song I’ve heard so far (30 plus minutes) would be in one of my own playlists. Their own beers are different - not ordinary, but also not great. Of their four originals I go with the stout (it’s a porter, IMO) as my favorite. Service was friendly - she seemed pleased I asked for a flight of their beers, checked in on me once, but never brought a food menu (as I’m writing this I am getting hungry). I’m not sure of the price of these beers as their menu doesn’t have them (which is a no-no in my eyes), so I may have to edit this review after I pay my tab. I’d return, though their own brews haven’t changed since I added them 6 months ago, so don’t expect variation. Editing to add: flight of 4 was $6. That’s effing amazing these days. |
