“Right on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, this is a great stop for a drink if you happen to be walking by. There's also parking too, if needed, but given all the booze options in the area I would discourage it. Nice outdoor seating and a good interior area. 7 beers were available when I visited, including cans and a mix 4-pack for take away which I appreciate. Beers were mostly clean, lighter fares but more or less average. It's a nice break on the Naramata bench to try some beer, but there are also numerous options in the area if you're also travelling with wine and cider freaks so it may be hard to choose.“

“I like the building they're in. The building is an old cannery that's been converted into a multi-use situation. A craft brewery in a natural tenant. That said, the brewery space leaves something to be desired. Under new ownership, the brewery space tells me that they are either tight on cash or spending money elsewhere. The place was empty at a time when every other brewery in town was packed so hopefully they're not missing out on an opportunity to develop the on-prem experience here - depends on the revenue split that matters to the business, right. The service was very helpful and friendly. I dug that. Vinyl on the hifi...in a warehouse space the scratchy stuff didn't work (compared with, say, the cozy confines of S&O). Lots of beers on offer, and while the drinking experience wasn't much, the ticking experience was solid.“

“Solid spot on the Naramata Bench, adjacent to the KVR trail. So this spot will be busy if the weather is good. Capacity both inside and outside seems like not enough, honestly. That said, the beer geek should be aware that the beer is straight up not good enough. I'd put them last among Penticton breweries at the time of writing. All kinds of issues from lack of style knowledge to fermentation problems. Either wait 'til I let you know it's better by updating this review (I'm on the Bench often enough), or don't bother. Really disappointing they took two + years to open the place and didn't bother learning about beermaking in that time.“

“Visited Summer 2021. A very large and raucus patio and right across the street from Bad Tattoo. Large bar area, flight were available for a reasonable price, some food on offer. Service was quick enough, beers are reasonably decent. Bad Tattoo has the pizzas going for it so this is more of a general social spot, and worth a visit if you have the time.“

“Quite an amazing view over Okanagan lake, great patio. Tasting flights are available and bottles for take away. A perfect place to chill on a hot summer day, but the bottles they offer are incredibly expensive - the quality is there, more or less, but still a significant jump from the other cideries up and down the street. Still, I enjoyed my stop.“

“A large orchard with a great view over Okanagan lake. Tastings are five bucks but the fee is waived if you buy a bottle. Five ciders available for tasting when I visited, very friendly service. A great stop in a busy stretch of Penticton / Naramata cideries and wineries.“

“Very standard old style pub on the wrong end of Penticton. Flights are available, food is decent enough pub fare but the beers are mostly terrible. I'd give this place a hard pass unless you really need to try all the Penticton breweries.“

“A chill little stop off the highway just on the edge of Penticton. I got more of that rural BC vibe here than further into the town centre. Beers were mostly average, the soundtrack was all classic rock. Still I didn't mind the more relaxed vibe of the place compared to the downtown locales which just seemed to busy.“

“A large garage area with barrels and kegs for seating, classic video games on the couch at the back. Flights are available for a mere seven bucks, no tip asked for. Beers are average if reliable stuff, nothing too exciting. Not a bad stop but it wouldn't be my first choice if I was pressed for time in the area.“

“A very large brewery slash restaurant right in downtown Penticton with space even for a live band when the mood strikes them. Eight beers on tap, a couple things that don't make it further out. Service was good. Decent stop in central Penticton.“

“Kind of a venerable brewery at this point in time, very busy and took awhile to get a table thanks to Covid and rain outside shutting down their patio. Service was still okay, 8 beers on tap but mostly things that can be found further afield in bottles and cans. Food wasn't bad at all and they were handing out bags of free popcorn. Fun stop, could be first of three if you do a downtown Penticton brewery crawl.“

“Beautiful place. Visited only a few days after they opened. Typical amazing Naramata view. Stylish. They did a tasting of all four ciders for $5, which is a great price versus the bottle price. Service was good. Bottles a bit hefty but tickers won't care, and if you like it, you'll pay it.“

“Right in the city centre of Penticton, this is a modern tasting room with a large interior and some patio space as well. 8-10 beers on tap at any given time, with flights of 4 for $7.50++, a good deal. Beer quality is alright, with most beers competently constructed. I liked their house IPA best. Very friendly service. Probably the best brewery in Penticton as of now. Worth visiting.“

“Tiny place right off Naramata Rd, with a tasting bar where you can sample their products (I was not charged a tasting fee). They've been open about a year as of my visit, and their competence at doing the traditional / farmhouse-style cider methods is quite impressive. The woman serving me was very friendly, passionate and informed about their cider production methods -- great to see. You'll mostly find bone dry, funky, musty ciders here. The prices are quite steep, higher than any other ciders in BC. Certainly some of the best ciders in BC and worth visiting if you're nearby.“

“Biggest beer selection in Penticton, with a lot of stuff from the lower mainland, and from places like Wild Ambition, which you'll probably want to seek out when you're in the area. Nothing to it in terms of ambience, and there were some museum pieces (2016 Fifty Fifties, for example), but all told, selection is what matters in a beer store.“

“Well, this is a splashy spot. Some money went into this, with nice design, and it's attracted a fairly young, lively crowd. They didn't spend nearly as much money on the beer though. None of it was drinkable, and I just got angrier as the flight went on. The fruit beer was full of butter, but nothing else worked either. So there's some work to be done to sustain their momentum because there are way better breweries in Penticton right now. I'll check back next summer, I imagine.“

“Nice place on the Naramata Bench (just on the Penticton side of the border). It's the same turnoff as for Lock & Worth winery and Poplar Grove cheese. Friendly place. Just open a month on our visit. They're doing natural fermentation, barrel-aged ciders. Unfortunately they are using eating apples, which makes for a lesser cider, but it's better than most eating apple cider. The barrel series ciders are only in the tasting room, but the Pet-Nat will likely get distribution on the coast because it's a pretty unique product. Overall, a pleasant experience. One of the better cideries to visit in the Okanagan.“

“Cool place with good service in Pentiction. Their stuff is all available in flights. Beer is OK, most of their best stuff is fairly widely available in Canada and at least when I visited, the local one-off taps were just OK. Fairly near to Bad Tattoo.“

“Small chain liquor store with an impressive selection. Stopped in the Penticton location instead of having swilly brewpub beers picked up a bunch of boombox and superflux cans, the beer selection was quite large and mostly refrigerated. Good place to get your beverages in town.“

“New location across from Cannery is easier to get to when doing a Penticton crawl on foot, plus it's more of a proper tap room. Service fine. They've taken the opportunity to showcase a more professional set of beers, too. Highway 97 reborn as a professional brewery worth putting on your itinerary.“

“For a quick stop liquor store this place has a great selection of craft - if you’re down to try something local / BC. Which you should be! :) Also in a very convenient location which is a huge plus for me. Fair sized parking lot. Decent snack selection. I would recommend this as your pick up stop in Penticton.“

“A modern and chain looking store. No real help and a few fridges with craft. Most are locals, but some of the more obscure locals and decent mainstreams from other parts of BC. Not great, but considering the location, pretty good.“

“An old style British pub with 12 taps of local craft. Not great, but not bad and they do flights. Beer is dirt cheap. Food was surprisingly pricey but actually quite good and fresh. Although not a great stop. considering it’s location and flights I would stop in again on my way through town.“

“This very trendy, earthy and hippy place just makes you comfortable and smile when you enter. Lots of nice wood, great light and a comfortable vibe. Service was very nice and accommodating but not beer focused. Craft selection is all local and decent, but nothing special and no flights or small pours. Prices are on the high side, but it is all locally sourced so is likely appropriate. I would not go specifically for the beer, but I would go for the atmosphere and the nice food.“

“They have taken over the space of Cannery and it is still the same stark warehouse odd feel. Service was great as the owners greeted me warmly and asked lots of questions along with an impromptu tour and some tastes from the tanks. Decent selection of beers with a cheap flight available. Beer is OK, but nothing special. A decent stop if you are in town.“

“A very large old rustic English style pub. Service was pleasant and was happy to talk on a very simplistic level about the beer. Not really beer focused though and they do have sample sizes for a reasonable price. More macros on taps than their own stuff. Food looked like the standard pub fare, but I didn’t eat. Not a great place, but cheap ticks are always welcome.“

“I suppose Jaks has a bigger selection, but Jaks isn't right beside the channel float, so there's that. Riverside is the go-to for float beer, and thankfully they have a pretty good selection. Lots of US randos, local OK beers, and a few choice items from the coast.“

“The new Cannery facility includes a large taproom with a good sized patio. There aren’t too many special beers, unfortunately, but it’s a good place to try the regular line-up and buy some to go.“

“A grungy, old-style pub that doesn’t really do craft beer. Most of the beers are industrial-quality shit, some of which are infected / undrinkable. At least you can sample 4 beers for $5.20 plus tax. The worst of the breweries in Penticton.“

“Wondefully set-up modern place offering many of their beers on tap. You can order a flight of 4 for a very reasonable price. Service is quite friendly and quick. Beers themselves are decent and probably the best in Penticton. Worth the stop when in town.“

“The taproom is located inside a grungy looking building with pretty poor signage. Tasting room offers about 8 beers on tap. You can order a sampler of 4 for $4, which is a steal. Service was a bit cold, but helpful and accommodating. Sadly the beer itself is so shitty, I had to do the walk of shame and left most of the beer on the way out. And it’s served in shitty little plastic cups -- lame. Better than Barley Mill’s beers, but still not a recommended stop.“

“In the beery almost-desert that continental BC is, this pub has a slight reason to be listed here, nevertheless the beer choice is quite limited.
Loved the younger servant passing by me looking at the floor for avoiding eye contact and unnecessary work :P“

“The area surrounding the bars (neon lights, tv screens, video poker) reminds me to much of Las Vegas casinos, but the area a few steps down is really nice. The beers are poor, 3 almost undrinkable and 2 barely drinkable (I ended the visit with a glass of wine). The food is not very good (the pulled pork sandwich was basic and the fish&chips was too oily and the fries soggy).“

“Ok, I’m a rail fan so this place appealed to me. It is a block from Tin Whistle Brewing and attached to the Ramada Inn & Suites. But this is not your typical hotel restaurant. We sat at the bar near the wood fired pizza oven and had the attentive serive from the bartender and helpful information from some local regulars. They serve a 4 beer taster tray of Cannery Brewing and Tin Whistle Brewing beers. They also have world whiskys, area wines and mixed drinks. They have a very good build your own pizza menu and cook it right in front of you if you sit at the bar. I had the Ruben special .“

“Built in 1982, the Barley Mill added a brewery in 1998. The house beers are mainly lighter fare, as the interior of BC is hardly the most beer-enlightened region. The space is pubbish, which I like. The upstairs seems more casual than downstairs. An acceptable place to have a pint of Pale.“
