“Prescott is way off the highway, and with the scenery and infinite strip malls reminded me of driving into Kelowna. The difference of course, is that Kelowna doesn't have Superstition. The place being quite touristy, but I went along with it, because I'm only somewhat familiar with their oeuvre anyway. Being able to choose from a near infinite variety of 1oz pours is awesome, and I went with types that I was most likely to enjoy (I lean away from goofy meads). In that context, I loved just about everything I had, finding that Superstition was well worth its reputation as a superior producer of mead, even goofy ones. The tasting experience was a hoot, too. One group behind me hated everything left most of their meads. Beside me some guy was trying to get his son into mead (only sorta successfully). And of course I was the guy going "trojnak, fuck ya". Worth the drive into Prescott.“

“A nice clean fancy place. I stopped in while my wife was shopping. I tried a couple sample meads. It's like wine. I like craft beer more. It seemed like a nice place though.“

“Singles, singles, singles!!! That's what I like the most when I want to try the beer in a new area I go to. I got just 10 singles, all NEIPAs ans Stouts that I love the most. The wife was waiting or I would have checked out and gotten more.“

“Rating is for their web store, which I've used an embarrassing amount during quarantine. So Superstition mead is amazing. They deliver to most states and their webstore gets all kinds of great stuff. You can pay a little more for early access, but most important, mead is great and superstition mead is the best. Expensive though.“

“Most renowned for their barrel picks of whiskey, tequila, etc. Most loved for their pizza and restaurant. Probably most under rated for their beer selection.“

“Very cool and cosy bar in the basement of a delicatessen store. I took two flights of twelve(?) 2 cl glasses of different styles of mead. They made me fall in love with melomels. The staff is very friendly and helpful.“

“Went here in December 2016. This place closed about May 2018. Its now called 'Marks Beer Garden'. Addictions Bar was owned by a nice couple that purchased it for fun, hoping to also make some money, and it was mostly run by the wife but after only 2 years they decided it was too much work, and their profit margins were close to nothing. Over all it was a good concept with relaxed atmosphere, decent selection of about 20 beers on draft, basic food menu of sandwiches and burgers, live music some nights, large outdoor patio area. Unfortunately, the landlord was trying to sell the building and the place was in a pretty run-down condition, and the landlord did little to nothing to maintain the facilities or improve the property.“

“Visited on a Friday shortly after they opened. The place is kind of hard to find since it's entrance is actually inside another building. They had a sign on the sidewalk, but I didn't actually see it until we were almost to the first entrance we needed. My GPS said I was actually there about two blocks early, so be prepared for that to happen. The entrance is right across from the courthouse and you have to go in through a big cooking shop. Once you are inside, walk toward the staircase you can see toward the back and go downstairs. At this point you should see plenty of signage to help. Downstairs is like a high end wine bar, which it sort of is, just with mead. There is a large bar with some of the most comfortable barstools I have ever encountered, but also a lot of tables to choose from as well. The place never really got too busy, but I was there at an off time and they were still about half full. I could imagine they get slammed at high traffic times. The mead selection here is out of this world. All the meads and ciders are their own, but that means it all rules in my opinion. You can do flights of once ounce pours of anything they have in stock and purchase bottles of almost anything. Prices are on the menu and it was up to date for my visit. If you purchase a case, you do get a 10% discount. Service here is excellent as well. Both guys working checked up on us plenty of times and kept us hydrated with a new water bottle any time ours was empty. All things considered, this place is world class, and should be on any mead lovers bucket list!“

“Easy to drive right by, the window is so small. Downstairs in a speakeasy type setting below a shop/coffeehouse. Fantastic all around - the food, décor, service. Meads were out of this world good, and though bottles are expensive, the flight was reasonable.“

“Like Gene I had some trouble finding the place, visited just before closure and the other day just after they opened. Understandably almost no one inside, pleasant interior, wouldn’t mind spending couple of hours here. Quality of meads and cider was great. One of the reasons to visit Prescott and I wasn’t disappointed. Well worth visiting.“

“Large liquor store with excellent beer selection. Since we’ve visited just after opening I haven’t checked the taps, I believe there are 16 of them. 13 fridges full of beer, and some outside, good selection of local stuff, also Almanac, Bruery, some Deschutes specials, Prairie, Modern Times. Grabbed Arizona Wilderness crowler. Superstition meads are available, lots of spirits and wine. In terms of beer selection some rarities (or should I say whalez) could make it better, but i perfectly understand it’s hard to expect that in such small town. Service was very good, guys working there gave me recommendation of some local beers. Breaking of 6 packs was allowed. Haven’t checked other shops in town (if there are any), but it’s hard to imagine a better shop at a town this size.“

“The best place in town I’ve managed to find. Pleasant interior, lots of wood. Very nice terrace upstairs we’ve enjoyed dinner up there after a long drive to Prescott. Beer selection is quite good, 30 taps, nothing spectacular, but good amount of AZ breweries. About 100 bottles in fridges, some quite interesting, caught myself a Hopslam. Food was good, service as well. Would revisit.“

“Walk down into the basement of a high-end food boutique...jams, hot sauces, spices, oils, etc. up top but the good stuff is down below! Once in the lair, honeycombs and a long bar await. Dimly lit, but the barrels and demijohns of unique experimental concoctions loom in a small room behind you. Hard not to stare! A great opportunity to try their incredible selection without forking out an astronomical amount on a bottle. Believe me, the bottles are worth it but it takes a bit of discipline to make it through 750 ml. You MUST experience this if in the area...world-class!“

“Superstition Meadery is located in the historic town center of Prescott which otherwise hosts a mix of antique shops, fairly historic buildings, bud light-serving bars and tourist trap junk shops. The meadery as well as the bar is located downstairs in one of the latter. However, once you enter the bar, the very welcoming and knowledgeable staff will let you know that their mead is in fact locally made (behind a glass wall visible from the bar). Depending on your level of expertise, they will tell you everything about the bees and birds. The bar is small but cozy, ’speakeasy feel’ probably describes it fairly well. There is bar seating as well as tables of varying sizes. When we were there, the light was fairly dim and the noise level acceptably low. The value for money at the bar is tremendous, a flight of 12 meads (ca. 1oz pours) covering most of their range will cost you 24$. The flight includes not only their core range but also smaller batch experimental meads (in our case Marion Coffee for example) or ciders. A separate flight of three berry whites can be had for 15$, which is significantly more expensive but still an excellent experience. Some of the meads we tasted were available in bottles varying in price ranges (around 30-50$ for the core range 750ml bottles and 85$ for the chocolate berry range in smaller bottles), some swag is also available. The quality and selection of meads at Superstition is incredible, it is at the same time a place where you can go and enjoy some of the world’s best meads and at the same time convert your non-mead drinking friends.“

“About 10 minutes driving from the town centre, this is like has a country shack feel to it. Average tap list, the highlights being the Mother Road beers. You can do flights of 4 for $10. Service is decent and friendly. Wouldn’t overly recommend a stop, but this was a cool place.“

“Best bottle shop I visited in Arizona. Extensive selection and tons of singles available. Good import selection too. The place itself is located in a big strip mall, and the front half is a restaurant that serves pizzas and other food, and the back half is the liquor store. Service is hands off, which is fine by me. Prices seemed reasonable for the area. If in Prescott, this is a must stop.“

“Nice little cafe in the heart of the town centre, firstly across the street from Granite Mountain. Lots of taps but beers not available in flights or taster sizes, so not an ideal ticker place. They have but stopped serving at 2pm, so didn’t eat. Service is friendly. Not a mandatory stop when in town, but it’s a nicely set-up place.“

“What an amazing place. Located in the heart of Prescott’s town centre, you have to go through a little shop first and then head downstairs to the mead cellar. Set up beautifully, there are a few tables and a bunch of bar chairs. You can order a flight of 12 for $24, which gets your 1 oz pours of all their main products. Then there are a few additional products which often consist of their very expensive $100 bottles, available for sampling for $10 - and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Mead quality is out of this world. These guys just hit it out of the park with almost everything they do. Service is super-friendly and knowledgeable, and they like ratebeer (of course, their stuff is rated so well ;) ). This was a truly unforgettable experience. If you are anywhere close, arrange a trip. You won’t be disappointed.“

“One of the best places in AZ, and definitely a can not miss when in Prescott. The cellar location is cozy and has a bit of a speakeasy feel. The staff are fantastic, and there are always world class meads available, some of their more rare offerings, some onsite only offerings, and usually some mead-based cocktails. There are some small bites platters available. and you can look at all of the barrels, and italian glass demijohns of small batch experimental meads aging as you sip on your tasters or glass of mead or cider.“

“An unassuming place, in the basement of a grocery store. I had trouble finding it, got lost in Prescott Brewing and ended up by the back door. Staff with a key let me in. Glad they did. Amazing selection of amazing mead. Tasty snack food paired well. Massive flights go on forever. A must visit if anywhere in the area.“

“I came out to Arizona a day before my conference in Tempe started so I could visit Superstition. I am so glad I did! Groovy place that is in the basement of a gourmet foods store. Phenomenal meads. Flight of 12 pours for $24 with some additional pours available. It was a quiet Wednesday so I just camped out for about 2 hours. Everyone I met there were super friendly - I even got a little tour of the brewing operation from one of the brewers. Amazing to see such high quality stuff coming out of such a tiny brewing space. They have appetizer-ish foods, but I did not have any. These guys have really embraced RateBeer with the awards they’ve won framed on the wall. Make a trip - cool area of Arizona and an awesome spot for mead.“

“Pretty awesome place hidden off the beaten path in a small country town. A liquor store/beer store that you can drink a beer while you shop. Now thats pretty awesome. Throw in a huge oitdoor patio and some great food and you got a winning combination. Had the wood fired mac and cheese skillet and it was amazing. They had over 1000 beers to choose from and i think 16 on tap. My recemt visit they had the new odell pineapplr sour on tap as well as the grapefruit sculpin which was bomb. If ya ever in prescott ya gotta check this hidden gem out. The whiskey selection was pretty insane as well. Great job to who ever created this concept you rock.“

“This is about a two hour drive from Phoenix including all the damn lights in Prescott Valley, but it is worth the trip. Superstition is in the basement of a gourmet food store; you need to walk through to get there. Lots of street parking outside. Cool jazz and big band music playing, although there is a pretty eclectic mix if you stay a while. Nice ambiance, long bar at one side and a small number of tables around. No real food, but a lot of nice appetizers, like cheese and charcuterie plates, that I am assuming are sourced upstairs. Service was impeccable. The two people there when I was there were super friendly, helpful, understood mead, and were both into the larger beer scene. They recommended downloading the ratebeer app so I could rate their stuff, and were quick to point out that they have the number one mead AND cider on ratebeer. They have 6 tap handles (may have been nine), but its not at all obvious what pours from them. For sure the ciders, as they don’t bottle those yet, and the "off-flight" meads as well. Most of their pours come straight from the bottle, and they have the same bottles you are sampling available to go. They offer a "super flight" which consists of 2 oz pours of most of what they have. In my case it was 3 ciders and 9 meads. They had one other mead available off-flight, but Micah threw that one in for me for free. This place is a lot of fun, a great place to talk mead, and a real must-have experience. Go there. Oh, and off-sale bottles ranged in price from $32-48. They also sold shirts and glasses. And no, I am not a homer. This place is legit.“

“This place has a great ambiance... typical coffe house with interesting art on the walls, an upstairs area, tables outside and lots of little nooks and crannies to sit. The coffee is great, they are sophisticated enough to ask if you want your cappuccino wet or dry. The bar is great, with a good tap selection and a wide variety of bottles. On Wed nights they play an old movie. Last time I was visiting I sat down and wanted Casablanca on their big projector while enjoying a nice IPA on tap with my sister. Nice!“

“My obeservation coincides with Nbutler’s account, for the most part. My wife and i were coming back from a trip to the Grand Canyon and decided to stay overnight in Prescott. We walked around town (easily accomplished in a 1/2 hour) and found the Raven. On tap beer selection was quite good given a small town. The ambiance was interesting as it doubles as coffeehouse. Having the usual coffehouse culture of dolts with their laptops/cellphones camped out at tables for hours is annoying but upstairs, is an outdoor patio. Nice! Food was below average and service was slow. Beverage manager was a nice fellow, though. I’d definitely come here again...Only for a couple pints sans the food.“

“Great place. I had lunch here at the deli and enjoyed a Left Hand Milk Stout from the wide selection of single beers. It only cost me an extra fifty cents to drink my beer with lunch. Huge selection of beers. I like being able to buy singles from the cooler because you can try many different kinds of beers.“

“My wife and I took a summer road trip to Prescott for her family’s reunion. Naturally, we had to find the best beer spot in town! You would think that the local brewery would be good, but it wasn’t. I wouldn’t recommend the Prescott brewery to really anyone, except maybe if you actually like Budweiser. Anywho, this place really was the bomb. Excellent beer selection, along with a casual, but well executed menu, made for an excellent evening. The wait staff more on the douchy side of things, but that’s to be expected in a place like this. Overall, it makes me happy that my wife’s family calls Prescott home, so we can return year after year! Cheers!“

“I was visiting my Mother and stopped in to pick up some beer to drink. They had a lot of singles to choose from in the cooler. Just my luck, it was 10% off of mixed sixers. I’m not sure how their selection compares to what is available in Arizona, but for an out of towner, I found plenty of stuff I wanted to try. Lots of California, Colorado and local micros. Lagunitas, DFH, Port and Stone were some of the highlights for me. Regrettably, I didn’t really check out the foreign section. They have a deli and pizza as well. I didn’t eat any food, but the guy behind the counter said you could drink beer or wine purchased in the store. That sounded like a good deal to me. Prices seemed reasonable. I didn’t ask anyone beer related questions, but the one worker that I interacted with seemed eager and friendly.“

“Great atmosphere, but looks much more like a comfortable coffee house rather than a bar. Lots of people were on their laptops, so I assume they have wireless. Strong taplist which I wasn’t expecting along with a focused selection of bottles. 6 AleSmith offerings in Prescott?? I’m impressed. The downside is the food and customer service, which couldn’t have seemed more disinterested in pleasing customers. Had to wait more than 20 minutes to get a chicken salad sandwich, which sucked, and there were two cooks and two wait staff -nearly outnumbering the 5 patrons. WTF?“
