“Large bar which to gain access to is up the stairs of the main road. All the taps were on and a large selection of local Queenstown beers and other beers from New Zealand. On the downside was only was person On the bar who was also brings you the food as well. Food was very good and large portions.“

“Nice craft beer bar on one of the main drags in Queenstown. Solid beer selection, especially local beers. Food is quite good - ate so much I regretted it! The only downside was the service, which wasn’t limited to one bartender, but seemed to be more or less the whole crew. Unfortunate, but I can’t say I blame them, since the bar can’t escape the circus that is Queenstown in the summer. Visited after the Kea interview in 2019 with Tim, Chelsea, and Jack.“

“Brewery situated in an industrial district on the edge of Queenstown, with a tap room serving both light bites and 18 taps of their brews. Taproom seats about 25, and outdoor patio can seat another 25. Service is quick and friendly, vast choice makes it difficult as no tasting paddles offered. A selection of light bites available as well. Visited at a quiet time before end of day, so ambience was a bit muted, but from the flow of visitors as we were leaving, it does seem to be a central gathering place. Nice vibes, laidback atmosphere, very friendly.“

“A brewery taproom in an industrial area on the edge of town, should sound pretty familiar and the place is. Altitude beers are generally pretty good, with a solid core range and some more exciting seasonals that I imagine will become more prevalent now they have their own place. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Pros: Beautiful view, solid food, relatively relaxed (especially by Queenstown standards), good selection of NZ taps (20 or so). Cons: NZ has limited stuff beyond IPAs and Pale Ales. These are generally very solid and I look forward to the day when NZ embraces other styles. For now, though, a NZ-focused craft beer bar will be limited in upside by the relative homogeniety of NZ craft beers.“

“20 great NZ taps, really good food (with vegan burgers too). Friendly staff and the place looks nice (it’s at the 2nd floor). Not much else to say, I really liked it here, a must go.“

“A fine place to go for a beer in the Wharf. Not a massive selection and the bar itself is tiny, although you can sit outside too which is nice if the weather is fine. Far from the best place in NZ to go for a beer but it does the job.“

“Small bar, a little noisy. About ten taps. Friendly service. Didn't try the food.“

“Great beer bar. 15 or so taps of great interesting unusual beer. Staff friendly and laid back. Surprisingly quiet on a Friday night - that's relative to the rest of the town which is full on. I got a seat and comfortably drank three beers and ate a meal between about 9pm and 10:30pm. The decor is beer focused. There's big picture windows with views of town and hills. The furnishings are a bit hard so it's a bit loud. But a pleasant ambience. Great selection of food to go with beer. What I had was very good. Seemed pretty good VFM to me. I'll be back.“

“Went twice while in Queenstown. First time I went for a few beers after dinner, and we had to go back the next day because the food looked so good. Interesting selection of NZ beers, with a varied tap list and a reasonable bottle selection. Staff were knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Ambience was much more relaxed and comfortable than Queenstown in summer. A welcome escape from all the tourists.“

“2016-05-17. 18 craft taps and a good bottle list. Fits right in with many newly renovated North American hipster influenced craft beer bars - reclaimed wood tables, overall decor and "feel" etc. - I mostly mean that in a good way here, where as it can be a slight in other cases. Food menu is decent. My burger is a bit less cooked than I’d like (since I lean towards well done) but tasty. Mabel’s pulled pork is nice but the sauce is of the sweet and smokey variety which again, is not my preference. Hot wings sold by the kilogram! (As opposed to by the pound... Not sure why but this tickled my funny bone) Tasting flight of six beers is a nice option. Bartender was friendly enough, seemed to know a bit about beer which is always nice. Best overall place in Queenstown for beer IMHO, though the Fork & Tap in Arrowtown has it’s charms as well.“

“2016-05-16.Pretty cool looking little place. Stuffed bear head, several bicycles on the walls, and a faux fridge leading to the toilets. Limited but tasty looking food menu. Our Brie and onion "pie" was two pieces of puffed pastry with cheese and onion slapped between. Tasty but SO not a pie. We were told they do a great steak here but were not hungry enough not try it. Altitude, Emersons, and Mata compose most of the NZ taps tonight with Coopers and inexplicably Brooklyn Lager on tap as well. Seating likely increases exponentially outdoors in fine weather. Friendly servers. Only let me order a double IPA in a large glass rather than a half pint which seems odd! Okay, we enjoyed are visit but overall it’s just a bit less awesome than I had hoped. Smith’s or Fork & Tap over in Arrowtown both had better tap lists and better overall impression. Still definitely worth a stop here though. “

“2016-05-15. Smallish shop, small but good selection of NZ craft beer, good range of Tuatara and Garage Project, Liberty. Situated next to a grocery store it’s very handy if you are staying nearby. Not really much to say about it but it’s worth at least checking out unless you are very pressed for time in the area. “

“A small place that can get crowded quickly as there are very few tables available. The food is excellent, the selection decent and the service is good. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful.“

“Fairly average chain bottleshop but with a very good range of NZ micros. Lots of Garage Project, Liberty, Panhead etc. including a few rarities. Seemed to be the best bottle shop in Queenstown, and served me well during my stay.“

“Small selection of craft beer with regional micros as well as the likes of 8 Wired, Panhead and Liberty. Worth a look and definitely handy when staying in Queenstown and looking for takeout bottles.“

“Chilled little beer cafe that has increased its number of taps to around 10 with a handpull. Tuatara APA on handpull, 4 Emersons and 3 Altitude beers. Food is tapas and mains that looked delicious, but didn’t eat on my visit. Staff are backpackers but friendly enough. Lovely view over the lake with a glimpse of boats coming and going. A good pick, albeit the only pick for a decent beer bar in Queenstown.“

“Small bar on the wharf dedicated to New Zealand craft beer but with a limited selection. Draft only, half-dozen available. Harbor, lake and mountain views on the patio. They now serve a contract beer of their own called Memphis Pale Ale and are the only place known to regularly serve the new Queenstown brewery Altitude.“

“Went there a couple of times today (says something), Staff were super cool. Had an NZ APA that I haven’t had elsewhere, and it was good too. Food was excellent. Pretty small place; still cozy and decent. Convenient location too. Prices were in line.Clean glassware & staff that verifies before serving. If I ever get back here, I’ll return.“

“They now have seven taps, with four being Emersons. Great staff, nice food, AWESOME view. More of a cafe with good beer than a pub. I would recommend more as a daytime place, rather than night time. Nothing on the menu is going to blow you away too much, but they make an effort and as a tourist, you will surely get a couple ticks from bottles and tap. Must visit when in Queenstown.“

“I love the small bars big on beer. Great vibe and people were spilling out on the wharf in the early evening hours. Didn’t eat, but somehow the chef was pumping the food out of a very tiny kitchen. A savior to the beer lover in Queenstown.“

“Atlas Beer Cafe is right on the wharf in Queenstown, part of the Steamer Wharf shopping center. The bar/restaurant is small and seems new. The bar faces the main windows out to the wharf, and there are some tables around the side and back. There was a pretty sizable crowd for an otherwise slow Thursday night in Queenstown. The food looked tasty and was reasonably priced but we were only there to drink. Atlas serves primarily Emerson’s and Invercargill beers; 3 of the 4 taps are Emerson’s and the other is Invercargill. There were 4 more Emerson bottles in addition to several "mainstream" NZ bottles. The place is small, simple, hip but unpretentious, and certainly worth a visit if you’re looking for Emerson’s and can’t make it down to Dunedin.“
