68 /100 360 WEST RIDGE RD A small place in the Inner Loop downtown. Came for the special edition cans left over, stayed for some small pours. Hoppy was quaffable, stout more interesting. Brewer likes kettle sours, me not so much. |
70 /100 21 RICHMOND ST Classier downtown Rochester sports bar with an upper level bar and slightly better service. Lots of their own taps only. Best place to find their 8 bit series. Crazy busy during Sunday night football, me sitting next to K2 entrepreneur. Only 16 oz. size. |
76 /100 21 RICHMOND ST Went there last winter with Joe and Dan right after they opened. We had to wait outside for a table to open inside. Not allowed to stand and drink at that time. Surprised with all this great beer that most people were drinking mixed drinks! We had some nice beers. They gave us a table upstairs. Not very crowded since not many tables at that time. |
72 /100 1044 UNIVERSITY AVE A group of us went there last year to watch a friend play music on open mic night. They had a good selection of beer. Lots of taps. I wish they had a beer list online so I would know a head of time what they had so not to delay my 1st beer. We had a good time. |
74 /100 190 MONROE AVENUE I stopped in here with Joe after visiting Chris at Roc Brewing on his last night of operation. Only 6 people in the place. The Bartender was a fun guy to talk to. The Hazy Beer I had from him was good. I'll stop back sometime. |
80 /100 21 RICHMOND ST A delightful place. A paradise of sorts. Great beers, excellent food. Our service was good. Prices high, but not really out of line. |
78 /100 62 MARSHALL STREET The class of a classy city, this stop is an oasis with great later hours to stop in. They take on mostly styles that are good and drinkable..and classy. |
62 /100 TRATA: At The Armory (Bar) 145 CULVER RD, , NY 14620 Have been here a few times. Do not really like the pour your own concept for some reason. A few good selections. Prepare to pay high prices here for everything. |
52 /100 Whiskey River Pub (Bar) 421 RIVER ST, Food is good here. We like to go in the winter when it is less busy. Beer is definitely not the attraction, but they may have 1 or 2 that are drinkable. |
80 /100 Whiskey River Pub (Bar) 421 RIVER ST, A fun place to sit outside in the summer and see a band and had well made bar food. Not too many taps but they had a few nice selections and the usual macro taps and cans. We had a good time there. |
80 /100 TRATA: At The Armory (Bar) 145 CULVER RD, , NY 14620 We stopped in here twice last summer for dinner. Tried the 'Beer Wall' twice to select and pour my own beer. Both times the newest NEIPA tap was empty, but they had several other NEIPAs and total of 50 taps. Both times we had to wait at the bar to have bartender create a card for us. At end of night after paying the waitress at the table for the food, we had to go back to the bar and wait to pay our beer bill. Seems they can make this more streamlined. |
76 /100 190 MONROE AVENUE Pretty close to downtown and to Strangebird Brewing. Tried a few different styles, including IPAs and lagers. All were true to style. Light lagers delectable. Nice new addition to the area. Have not tried the food yet but that looks promising too. A medium sized repurposed sort of place. Not super glamorous inside but functional. Had some guest beers on tap, not sure if that is a temporary thing while they get things fully into swing. |
62 /100 Aman's Farm & Market (Beer Store) 2458 EAST RIDGE ROAD Kind of interesting farm market type place with a good selection of beer. There were 30-40 being sold as singles, with the rest in packs. Lots of industrial beer, but an ok selection of mostly local craft. Probably not worth going out of your way, but worth a look if you are in the area. |
76 /100 62 MARSHALL STREET Patty and I stopped in on my birthday to check out the place. I had for great IPA's! Very well done. No stouts or porters were available on tap in August. They have a nice place. They have some food like pizza... Outdoor seating too, but raining the day I went. I'll be back. |
68 /100 Beers of the World - Henrietta Road (Beer Store) 2599 E HENRIETTA ROAD Well, certainly no lie in the name. Very international selection here, although I'd watch the BBB dates. Found a new country tick, so yay me! Lots of local and regional craft as well, both as singles and 4/6 packs. Good service. |
74 /100 155 ST PAUL ST Downtown location. Bare bones taproom, long bar. Drafts and cans. Food ?I think. Taplist favors trendy styles you won't find a dunkel here. Good service. |
76 /100 25 CATARACT ST Very cool location right outside the main production facility. Old building turned into taproom/ restaurant, multiple levels. Rooftop terrace provides a nice view of the city. Serving their standard lineup plus their Brew House line. Cream Ale is luscious. |
84 /100 3859 BUFFALO ROAD Stopped here on my way into Rochester. Pretty packed for a eat midweek afternoon setting. Plenty of parking inside looks like a ski chalet with knotty pine siding and fixtures. Big bar, boots, tables available. I think there was food available but I'm not sure. Flights available. Great service. Very friendly regulars as well, they ended up buying my flight for me. It doesn't get much better than that. |
80 /100 62 MARSHALL STREET Love this place. Predicting this will become one of the top destinations in the area. Huge variety of styles, including barrel aged, saisons with a twist, more than just hazy's and pastries. Decent food too. A bit industrial in vibe, and a little cold inside on the cold day we were there. Huge complex, plenty of seating. Bar service. Will be back. |
68 /100 543 ATLANTIC AVE Very friendly vibe, some nice artwork in the place. The same place lost borough used to exist. Beer seemed decent, and we hold out hope for the place. |
72 /100 1044 UNIVERSITY AVE We liked the vibe here, different than the townie vibe at the Fairport location. Large former industrial space, concrete floor, city neighborhood. Games on premises to play, lots of young people hanging out in the place, leisurely paced. |
70 /100 North Greece Grocery (Grocery Store) 502 LONG POND RD Very happy with this place. Gets the unusual selections, has good prices, has a sale rack and puts their newer stuff on facebook. Been coming here regularly. Good service if the main guy is there. |
68 /100 North Greece Grocery (Grocery Store) 502 LONG POND RD Small Grocery that has rapidly expanded their craft beer selection. They have great craft 4 packs and singles at good prices. They even have a discount beer selection if a beer is there too long. |
64 /100 360 WEST RIDGE RD A decent selection of beers in a small venue. Parking is in the back and small. Popcorn is the only food option. Their barrel aged stout was comparable to Founder’s KBS. Crowlers and cans to go. |
60 /100 Radio Social (Bar) 20 CARLSON RD, The front bar was off limits last night, for a party, that seemed to have more tap handles. The back bar had 3 or 4 decent selections, so not a beer mecca. Lots to do here, very casual. A fancy restaurant or bar food at a counter are the food options. Will be back. |
72 /100 Acme Bar & Pizza (Bar) 495 MONROE AVE Went here with Joe years ago while on trip thru city bars. Some good beer selections. I had a good IPA and Chaz had a good stout. Going to and from the Mens room you have to wait till the guy playing pool gets done taking his shot. A bit tight. |
66 /100 Romig's Tavern (Bar) 18 BENNINGTON DRIVE Stopped in for dinner recently. 40 years ago this place was filled with video games and pool table and we drank Genny. Now it's full of dinner tables and craft beer. Had a good meal and some craft beer. |
74 /100 765 TITUS AVE Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Got there after a large buss. Luckily they were all served by the time we got there. The bar itself is long enough for 6 chairs. They had 10 of their beers on tap. True to style. |
64 /100 1344 UNIVERSITY AVE, SUITE 140 Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with the guys. Our group and 2 other people there at that time. A small but nice clean place. About 8 beer selections. No need to wonder which style the beer is cause each beer named by style. |
68 /100 46 SAGER DRIVE Stopped in with a group of guys on a Saturday afternoon. It's in between streets you have to down a alley to get to it. You could drive down the alley too. They had about 6 of their beers and some guest beers on tap. Nice place good beer. |
66 /100 Wegmans - Greece (Ridgemount) (Grocery Store) 2833 RIDGE RD W,ROCHESTER It's great for selection and the best prices, sometimes unique stuff will sit on the shelf too. e.g. Lunch. They keep trying to rotate different stuff in too. |
64 /100 Romig's Tavern (Bar) 18 BENNINGTON DRIVE Have stepped up their craft beer game, especially on price. They tend to have mostly IPAs and often seem to be out of whatever the 1 unusual one on the menu is. They rotate new stuff in which is nice. Food is excellent. The place is a bit of a dive, but still worth checking out. |
78 /100 765 TITUS AVE Two floors, had a line system downstairs to get beer, or you could sit upstairs and get served. Decent beers, friendly, standard prices. Upstairs had games, and a chill atmosphere. Will be back. Served good looking and smelling bar food but did not try it. |
68 /100 1344 UNIVERSITY AVE, SUITE 140 Parking is a little tight in this area, though they give you hints on their website. Very small place, industrial feel. Quite friendly, brewer was nearby and jumped into a conversation when I started talking about one of the beers. Beers are hit and miss, some seemed true to style and decent others need work. Decent prices. No food, but can bring in or get delivered to here. Will go back. |
64 /100 1221 EMPIRE BLVD Well designed location, bar, lots of taps on. Most of taps are popular styles, some of which can be better executed. One server stretched on a busier summer day. |
88 /100 AJ’s Beer Warehouse (Beer Store) 175 CLAY RD Functional place. Layout lends itself to finding what you want. Good tap selection. Super helpful. |
62 /100 46 SAGER DRIVE In a weird light industrial area. No clear lot, just some spots along the buildings, we went during the day parking no problem but looks like it could be. Swanky fresh built surroundings, seemed like a very nice place, very friendly and helpful. Very few beers though. Only 4 on tap. |
76 /100 The Beer Market (Bar) 1401 MT. HOPE AVENUE Good stop to get more national releases. Two large fridges of cans and bottles. Flight was very good deal, and happy hour makes it even better. |
66 /100 AJ’s Beer Warehouse (Beer Store) 175 CLAY RD Good selection of cans, mostly from New York State. Even better is a huge number of draught lines for fills and sampling. However, much time and data usage needed on those cans undated. Many can choices were not the freshest but they were here, that won't do for hoppy beers. Worth a stop if in town. |
76 /100 155 ST PAUL ST now a must stop if in roc. decent coffee and modern taproom..beers are above average to very good and the source fresh is the way. |
72 /100 33 1/3 ROCKWOOD STREET Chill place in the back room of this old record shop. 9 taps, 8 were craft. Over 100 bottles and cans, all kinds of stuff. Taps were $5-6 per pint. They brought in free food on a Friday evening and also were giving away prizes. Laid back, lots of couches and tables, guy was playing electric piano and singing. Had a great time and there was a good lineup of beers. Would like to hang here more. |
64 /100 Romig's Tavern (Bar) 18 BENNINGTON DRIVE Interesting place off Dewey Ave. near Greece. Old school bar, sports, loud music, pub food. They have 30 taps, though, and some of the cheapest prices around, especially for pitchers. Not a beer geek place by any stretch of the imagination, but a fun place to hang out and drink some local craft. |
76 /100 Clutch (Bar) 3208 LATTA ROAD Get here quite a bit. Pricy beer, but good selection, some tough to get, and fresh, pony's I guess. Good food too but also pricy. Not sure that the waitresses know much about the beer. Recommended. |
64 /100 134 GREECE RIDGE CENTER DR We went there after dinner on a Monday to meet friends. They had over 40 beers on tap. Just three of their own. Their own IPA was not very good. Our friends got the Monday Pizza deal and they liked that. Good service with just two groups in there. |
80 /100 Clutch (Bar) 3208 LATTA ROAD They always have some excellent beers from NYC on tap. Good variety of beers always. Good service and good food. The walls are filled with big screen TVs to catch all games at same time. (Oh, open Fri-Sun noon to 2am) |
72 /100 Radio Social (Bar) 20 CARLSON RD, Stopped in with friends after a hockey game. This places advertises as a social club. Many different games to play. Over 20 bowling lanes. The food menu seemed high priced. We did have a very good draft beer at a good price. Mostly a place for the 20 something crowd. |
66 /100 155 ST PAUL ST Saturday night they had each table filled as we walked in. A short wait for service at the bar. We did not see any small 4 oz glasses around. I had a nice porter. Some of their kegs were kicked and had smaller amount of drafts to choose from. They did have some of their beers canned and I took a four pack home with me. |
78 /100 3859 BUFFALO ROAD Decent brewpub in Rochester, outside of the downtown area. It is a restaurant/pub with an Applebees-esque feel. They have a large tap list with a bunch of regulars and a couple of seasonals. I had a lime cucumber gose and the vanilla porter, which were both delicious. Food is pretty standard pub fare, maybe slightly above average, with focus on German food (though not exclusively). I had the schnitzel plate, which was quite large but good. Overall, it didn't really stand out to me, but the beers were good. You can't go wrong here, I think. |
84 /100 186 ATLANTIC AVENUE Excellent brewery in Rochester. In a nice area, sort of residential. There is a lot of outdoor seating and inside there is a stage, plenty of tables, and a bar. On a Sunday evening, it was pretty dead. But the beers were quite good. I got to sample a bunch and all were solid. Fairly standard styles plus some unique ones - amber, pale, stout, flemish red, kettle sour. There is no food, some snacks (chips and such) but there is a food truck. Overall worth a stop in Rochester. |
52 /100 134 GREECE RIDGE CENTER DR Just opened, for now beers brewed at Custom Brewcrafters with recipes designed by War Horse Brewing. Decent pizzas, beer was so so. Some other taps beyond their own, most styles represented. Hoping for the best.
- update, the bar service is incredibly slow, and the beer has not improved, or been added to. They hope to draw you in by being the only visible place in the mall. Downgrade. |
