“Located in a strip mall, this place actually has a lot of charm. Large open area with a lot of bar space. Service is right on top of customers. Beer is good and BBQ is tasty. Recommend if in Salem.“

“They have moved from the old location to Route 28 in the plaza after the Bank of America. They still have brew supplies and a section for tasting. They plan on offering food soon. They do not do 32 oz growlers any more. They only sell fillable pints and 64 oz growlers. They had about 8 taps going and do offer flights of 5 for 9$. Staff was helpful. Beer is interesting some better than others. Today 10/30/15 went to purchase a growler listed at 6% and was overcharged. Made the owner aware his signage needed to he addressed he said you are correct and did not adjust my bill. Stay away!!“

“I stopped in here today for the first time to pick up the one ingredient that I didn’t have to make a saison. Warehouse type feel with a really nice taproom setup where you can see the brewery behind the glass. Big plus for being the only homebrew store in the area open on a Sunday! The guy behind the counter was attentive and helped me get my grain and later a sample of one of their brews. Pricing seemed about what I was expecting. 6 brews on tap at a buck a piece for samples or growlers to go. When I have a bit more time I’d like to check a little deeper into this place.“

“Stopped by yesterday to check the place out after finding out about this fairly new brewery on this site and Facebook. This is a homebrew shop and a brewery. I can’t speak about the homebrew side of the business so this review concerns the tasting room. It is small, probably the size of the average living room. Kind of industrial. Bar is stainless steel, floor is concrete. There are a few barrels with glass tops, but few chairs. There’s 6 or seven taps going. 4 oz. pours for a $1.00 or a flight for $5.00 All solid beers. Meet Joe, owner, brewer & bartender. Nice guy who was friendly, considering he was tending his tanks, waiting on his homebrew customers and talking to me. He needs roller skates. Check it out“

“I really like McKinnons and the store concept. I like the selection, but all of their locations lack a true beer manager. If you have a beer or wine related question, you are on your own.“

“I stopped in here today after urging from my bother who lives in the area. First impressions are that this is one small parking lot and I’m trying to find a spot on a Saturday afternoon. I finally park and get in to check out the huge selection of meat available for sale. I’ll be back in the summer to buy some pork butt to smoke, but enough about that. Basically this is a butcher shop/supermarket in a strip mall on rte 28 in Salem NH. The beer and wine section are on the far left hand side of the store. Most of the beer is in a very large L shaped cooler. There are four or so warm racks set up at locations around the store as well. I would have to say with few exceptions this store carries just about everything available in NH. Victory, Southampton, Brooklyn, Sea Dog, Smuttynose, Allagash, Chimay, Harpoon, Magic Hat, just to name a few. They have lots of Imports that I rarely see anywhere else. Great selection for NH Great prices too! “

“I was very satisfied with this place, the beer manager was really helpful, they were having a special and went over everything they had over the phone. They have good specials so the price is right, selection was pretty nice as well. Overall a good place to buy craft beer.“

“I was very impressed with the selection here. They clearly attempt to have a good selection of local-ish brews like Manchester Brewing, Smuttynose, and some of the harder to find Pennechuck stuff. American craft beer and imports are well-represented too with Victory, Brooklyn, Blue Point, Magic Hat, Shipyard, Chimay, Bornem, Samuel Smith, etc. Prices are reasonable at worst and some offerings are a bargain (most notably Brooklyn Local 1 for 6.99$/bottle last I checked). Far and away the best selection in the area I’ve been able to find, plus I’ve had good luck with talking to those who work there about beer the few times I’ve been able to. Cheese selection right by the beers and wines is a definite plus too! I love this place!“

McKinnon’s Meat market (Grocery Store)

“It opened in late 2008 and as of this writing is the company’s only New Hampshire store. It’s a grocery store with an emphasis on meats of all cuts along with a deli, fish market and produce area and a large selection of cheese, spices, and marinades. But the beer aisle is the best in Salem. It’s 50-50 refrigerated and shelved. I saw a few beers that I hadn’t seen in New Hampshire before including a lof of Belgians like Petrus, Bavik, Bormen, Augustine Ale, and Wittekerke. A good run of crafts and micros including most of the Samuel Adams, Unibroue, and Rogue series along with beers from Victory and Flying Dog that I don’t see regularly. Easy to get to on Rt. 28.“

“Definitely worth a visit. I went up there last night for the first time and was surprised. They have great prices. Their selection is varied: A lot of Allagash, Ommegang, Unibroue, St. Peters, Flying Dog, and a lot of New Hampshire regional stuff (Smuttynose, etc).“
