78 /100 PIAZZALE CAVA ANTICA Visited in July 2023. Brewery tap near the top of in Centro Storico.
A shady patio and a fair number of the really good beers made in San Marino's only physical brewery available. Friendly service and over all a great place to be. |
70 /100 La Loggia (Restaurant) CONTRADA DEL COLLEGIO, 19 Nice restaurant high up on Monte Titano. Local Titanbräu and Abusivo beers readily available. Decent but nonsurprising food. |
58 /100 L'Angolo Del Liquore (Beer Store) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 41 Plenty of spirits and wine, but decent (decent for San Marino that is) selection of beers. 15 bottles sounds about right. |
62 /100 Giulietti Km0 (Bar) PIAZZALE LO STRADONE 3 Somewhat large place with patio and outside beer bar. Some German classics, Baladin and usual suspects including Sierra Nevada which seemed ancient and poorly kept. Don't remember seeing any SM beers. OK for a place tick, nothing more. |
86 /100 La Cantinetta dello Stradone (Beer Store) PIAZZALE DELLO STRADONE 17 This is charming spot just outside the old city. Friendly staff, epic location. The only catch being it’s a wine bar, not a beer bar. They offer wine by the glass, coffee, and bottles of wine to go. My rating below will be based on wine, not beer as the wine selection was fantastic. |
70 /100 Giulietti Km0 (Bar) PIAZZALE LO STRADONE 3 Modern bar with good food/snack and wine selection. Food is cheap with good quality (i.e. whole grain pancakes o_O). 4 taps with Augustiner Helles (?!), 2 more germans and a belgian. Something like 30 bottles on the menu with nothing too exciting. Mostly european classic craft beers that can be found elsewhere as well. (Say Baladin, the usual belgians, some more germans... one noteable exception was a xyayu barrel aged hidden between some wine bottles). Sadly NO beer of San Marino itself. But overall a nice bar with maybe the best and diverse beer selection in the country. If you are looking for a San Marino beer: every second souvenir shop has some bottles, it's not that hard to find. Not sure if they are on tap anywhere in the city though... |
70 /100 L'Angolo Del Liquore (Beer Store) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 41 Visited on 25th May 2018. Touristy bottle shop/spirits/wine store on the next corner down from Giulietti KM0. Nice looking shop but the highlight is the beer range which had pretty much all the bottles from breweries in San Marino. Picked up a couple of takeaways of ones I hadn't tried for the journey back to base. Service friendly, prices good. Handy stop off if you've made it all the way here. |
68 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 Visited on 25th May 2018. Large terrace bar pretty much at the top of San Marino. Weather was good so sat outside in the sunshine and admired the view. Decent range of beer from Titanbrau and we chugged through the range on tap and snuck in a bottle as well. Service and prices were decent enough. It's worth the climb to enjoy the view as much as it is for the beer! |
66 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 Visited on 25th May 2018. Nice restaurant in the heart of the city, view across Freedom Square and then out over the cliffs. A nice day so chose to sit outside and eat lunch here. Decor is pretty smart and the place is good. Small range of beers on tap from local brewers. Picked up my country tick, food was definitely better than the beer. Service good, prices decent. Good place rate. |
44 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 Went to this place on my honeymoon and tracked down some of the local beers. Great view and alright service |
60 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 Has a nice venue overlooking the view below perched on a cliff. They also offer blankets if you're cold during these months of the year. The menu shows all of Titanbrau's beers but they only had one available when I was there. Food was decent but nothing special. Typical tourist restaurant, really. |
72 /100 Giulietti Km0 (Bar) PIAZZALE LO STRADONE 3 Busy bar on one of the main roads leading in and out of the old town. Can get noisy, but that's a bar for you. They only had the Titanbrau blonde available when I was there but also a fridge full of Italian craft brews to doddle with even though their own were harder to find. Didn't eat, maybe I should have, but I drank instead. Urp. |
72 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 The setting is the big draw here and it's right in the national square with great views of everything. Service was decent and food was okay (the cheese plate was must nicer than the hot main I had), it certainly didn't seem Michelin level as they have one believe. They have the San Marino microbrews on tap, varying, and they are not at all cheap. Nonetheless a good place to get your tourist on and try the craft brews in a very pleasant setting. |
62 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 Visited La Capanna during a short break in San Marino April 2015. Magnificent location situated in the old City close to 1st Tower with large patio area and stunning views. At the time had a very good selection of international bottled beers, with all 4 of San Marino’s Titanbrau brewery beers available, plus 1 extra on tap. Food is decent, service friendly, value is reasonable. Updated October 2017. Doesn't have the beer range it did before. Management has changed since, and the La Capanna beer that Titanbrau brewed for them was stopped. Only had one local beer and a small number of Belgians. Location still as stunning as ever though. |
70 /100 Giulietti Km0 (Bar) PIAZZALE LO STRADONE 3 Nice bar with a great view across the valleys of San Marino. A few locals available here on tap along with about 20-25 other bottles mostly from IT brewers like Baladin. Wifi available here. |
64 /100 Giulietti Km0 (Bar) PIAZZALE LO STRADONE 3 In San Marino city but situated on a lower level street with car access. Had quite a modern lounge bar feel and can imagine it being popular in the evenings. Large covered on street seating area. 2 beers on tap are from Titanbrau. About 25 bottles, some common and some less so. Includes 7 Baladin beers, 3 from San Marino and some other Belgian and German beers. Service was ok. Food available. |
58 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 Stunning location, decent food, good service, but a small beer selection. 10 bottles ranging from San Marino's Abusivo brewery and small Italian craft breweries to Becks and very common Italian lagers. But enough of interest to find an excuse to take in the beautiful location from which it benefits. Incedentally the place right next door Enoteca is a gift shop not a beer shop but stocks the entire Abusivo range. |
60 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 Nice restaurant with an astonishing view from tables outside. Both locals (Abusivo) and Italian beers here. Typical SM/IT prices. |
62 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 This place is near the First Tower (13th century) in San Marino, but the bar is a bit newer. Nice big patio with vertiginous views. They had three bottled Titanbrau beers plus on on tap that they commission, which was the tastiest. I saw the weizen in the window, but staff said it was only produced last summer and has been gone since then, and I had no desire to buy the one in the window. Food was OK, not great, but not expensive given the location. |
56 /100 La Cantinetta dello Stradone (Beer Store) PIAZZALE DELLO STRADONE 17 This is a small fancy wine shop in a piazzetta just outside the old city walls, at the foot of Via Paolo III, an easy walk from the historic center. They had a single shelf row of beers plus some in the fridge, including Birrificio Abusivo and some interesting ones from Italian breweries big and small, maybe 30-40 bottle total. The proprietor knew each of the beers very well, and was happy to tell me which were his favorites and which not so. Prices are high, averaging 5 euro for a 33 cl bottle, 7 euro for a 50 cl. So, more or less bar prices. But I didn’t find any San Marino bottles to take away from anywhere else. |
62 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 I’m glad others have done some searching in San Marino so I didn’t have to walk around so much! This place was easy to find, and I visited in fine weather, so there was a very good view from the tables outside. They did have a hefeweizen and an ESB from Birrificicio Abusivo, and a few other things as well (Almond 22, for instance). I had lunch as well, which was delicious, and paired nicely with the beers. Prices were OK considering the location. Clientele was an interesting mixture of businessman in suits, fancy ladies in chauffeured cars, and scruffy tourists like me. Mission accomplished, in a stylish and classy way. |
56 /100 Osteria La Taverna Righi (Restaurant) FREEDOM SQUARE 10 Only place in San Marino we found serving beer from the local Birrificio Abusivo. As a bar the Osteria is open from 10 o’clock, but as Osteria it’s at lunch time and dinner time (ie. 12,00 – 14,30 and 19,30 – 22,00). We visited first the place as a bar (they do have some bar snacks too), and it was fairly simple but quite okay place. As they were setting the tables for the dinner when we were there, the place already looked more cozy. Good location in the old town, right on Piazza Libertà. Only two craft beers available, but both from the local Birrificio Abusivo. There is also a fine restaurant at the same premises, the only restaurant in San Marino with a star in the Michelin guide. This restaurant also has the same two beers and was certainly worth a visit. |
64 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 A bit of a climb to reach the place, but great views once there towards Rimini and the sea. Only two taps (La Capanna and Augustiner) and maybe 40-50 bottled beers. Two out of four Titanbrau bottles available. |
60 /100 La Capanna (Restaurant) SALITA ALLA ROCCA 47 So amazing view had lunch on cliff side with family overlooking Adriatic Sea and valley below. Shitty time square style food. Only had one San Marino beer on draft but could buy nice gift box with more. Service was slow and unresponsive. Anyways still nice experience. |
