“A popular local with what looks like a decent menu. The selection of beers on tap (craft and keg) was limited but there were a few interesting and reasonably priced bottles in the fridge. (Visited 9 November 2019).“

“I think I've been here before, about 15 years ago... but memory is hazy. At any rate this pub is kind of off the main drag as it were, in deepest South Lambeth, so you'll most likely be taking a special trip out. My verdict: It's very traditional which I like, but trying to break into the craft scene, which I also like. Only 3 cask on when I visited at the tail end of the weekend, but the 8 kegs looked better, including Alphabet, Lervig and Delerium Noel. So a good, varied and enticing selection. Food looked tasty and affordable but I'm eating later. Nice staff, no WiFi but that's ok. So, all good but there's something missing - maybe it's my mood, or the sparseness of the clientele, or the fact I've just come from CASK and Mother Kelly's and therefore spoiled. Worth the trip out? Maybe, depending on your mood. If you're here, it's a decent place to have one or three, as it were.“

“This pub looks fairly unassuming from the outside. Sometimes pubs look more appealing and cosy from the outside than in, but this pub is quite the opposite. It has a homely, old feel inside, almost like being on a galleon. 4 cask ales, 2 of which were new to me. The various pump clips on the wall suggest they may rotate regularly. Strong focus on wine. Chances of ticks here are low but it’s a nice pub. Not a ticking destination, but a solid option if you’re in the area.“

“The Priory Arms is located between the Portuguese centre of Lambeth and the housing estates of Stockwell. I arrived at a quiet time. A nice vibe in here - fairy lights, beerinalia (if that’s a word), lots of pump clips, jukebox takes centre stage but music isn’t too loud. Board games and a weekly quiz. I imagine this place can get busy, but it’s a nice vibe when quiet. You could easily bring a partner or non-ticker who could enjoy their visit / not get too grumpy.

5 of 6 casks were on, 9 kegs. Good bottle selection including Orval, Cantillon, London brewers. Prices were reasonable by London standards. I’d be surprised to see a cask ale over 5% here, but it seems that the selection is ever-changing.

No rarities or high-alcohol styles to be had here. Just a great pub.“

“An inviting street corner pub in Stockwell, small and cozy local feel. Six cask ales and six keg lines added by a decent range of bottles from London breweries, but also a few Belgian, American and German ones. Tasty burgers. A few extra points for the Jukebox; Finn’s chose was Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks, I went for Start me Up and Rock and a Hard Place by The Rolling Stones. Listed among Des de Moors 25 best beer pubs in London, page 37 in his excellent CAMRA guide to London’s best beer pubs & bars (2015). (Visited with Finn 29.11.2015).“

“Compact, cosy pub in deepest, darkest Stockwell. Fitted like more of an upmarket pub, but in an old style frontage. Nice range of about 5 cask taps and a very good bottle range which features some great Fantome 75cl bottles for a tenner. Also has some German bottles, Belgians and British beers. Cask range included Red Squirrel, Sambrooks and Dark Star when I was in. Tapas food range also looks decent.“

“This isn’t your typical cookie-cutter local. The ambiance is very friendly. The service was prompt, the pub dog cheeky. The selection’s pretty interesting. There’s 5 beers on cask (Downton, Sambrooks) with another 10 or so on keg (a mix of macro stuff and random things like Brugse Zot and Hofbrau festbier). The bottles are fairly interesting too. Clearly this place is a cut above your average bar. Recommended if you’re in the area.“

“Nice and cosy pub in a calm area in Stockwell. It’s quite airy and bright and mainly inhabited by locals. Five hand pumps, often with beers from Downton and Hop Back, but also some guest beers. Decent selection of bottled beers. Very nice pub food. Friendly service. This really is quite far from the beaten tourist track, but for some reason I managed to find my way here several years ago, and I keep coming back from time to time (which probably is a good sign). Worth a visit.“

“Nice, cosy pub just a short walk from Stockwell Station. Five pumps dispensing ale and a fridge full of interesting beer. Took the wife and nipper here and had a pleasant afternoon supping fine beer and wishing I lived nearby.“

“Pleasant, airy pub in the backstreets of Stockwell. Five real ales stocked, with Hop Back Summer Lightning permanent and the remaining four ales changing constantly. Ale quality ranges from average to rather good. A small selection of German and Belgian bottles are kept, but the staff seemed less knowledgeable than expected as to tasting recommendations, etc. A few lagers on draught. Pleasant spacious feel to the interior - pale green walls and a lot of wood, lighting not excessive and the streamed background music is kept fairly low. Food is mainly burgers and a wide "tapas" range. I was able to construct a "dinner" of meatballs, french fries and salad from the tapas menu on my visit last night. Friendly drinkers and staff alike. Worth a visit.“
